I'm going to guess that the older gentleman got just as much out of your visit as you did, if not more. There is nothing better than a willing audience that appreciates your stories and experiences. I'm sure he has told them over and over again, through the years, but to have someone who was so excited to see and hear his history had to have brought him great joy, as well. You may have thought that you were successful in all of your finds, but you gave something of yourself, that is also priceless. You showed respect for him and the items that he was selling and handled yourself in a manner that the older folk don't always find in the younger generations. And you were invited back. That shows he also trusted you and that means a lot.

What an incredible story and the fact that it was a random stop makes it so much more exciting. I'm so happy for you and your chance to aquire these items. Thank you for filming the engagement between you and the family. I hope you do get the chance to return and hear more stories. Don't apologize for loving what you love and being proud of who you are as a collector and reseller. Spoiler Alert-most of your viewers watch you because of your beautiful soul not what you resell 😉

So many memories in that gentleman's head. You could talk to someone like that for hours and still not hear everything. That experience was priceless and can never be forgotten. It would be fun to go and just listen to him talk and record it, he is a treasure and should be treated as such.

When I was little I would always sit there and listen to what the old folks had to say or share. And I am old now. And I still listen to what the much older folks have to share. None of my kids ever want to hear what I have to say. They never listen to me. But I to run into strangers that like to hear what I have to share I was invited to a 4th of July gathering . And I met an older couple in there later 70is. And I sat down with them and shared some of the WW#2 stories I was told by my father and Uncle and the things they seen and experienced. And some of the other old folks who shared their stories. When I was done sharing. The old man said, man I wish I had my recorder here. I should have recorded your stories. The older couple liked me so much that they invited to stay in their home, instead of camping out on there property. It sure ment allot to me. Before we parted, we exchanged numbers and we are still in contact with each other. I sure had a wonderful time with them.

Great to see how much the local history , the school and sports tradition was so important to you and those folks garage sale. To have such an accumulation of pin-backs and programs and family collectibles is very rare to find, but to have the first hand history behind it from someone class of '48, is incredible (90 year old gentleman?). Boxes of sports programs, the old baseball uniforms over 100 years old, all very much sought after by sports collectors. That Eagles Browns 1959 program at Franklin Field, the 1960's college football programs , all very nice items that are not easily found in such quantity.

Bless that man's heart. Such a sweetheart and he had to have been around 91 y/o. I could listen to older people all day. I inspected nursing homes for 15 years. Love older people and their history! You can't put a price on that!

I remember playing scrabble with my mom and inherited her game when my kids were little. They are grown, we downsized and moved and I couldn't find the game. It made me sad and then I found a vintage scrabble board and box and bought it. It's for display and just makes me happy thinking of mom when I see it.

I don’t comment very often, but I love your videos and watch you all the time. I love your sweet enthusiasm! Keep up with your dream, sweetie!

What a completely wonderful day!! To sit and listen must have been incredible and I am very jealous!!! My father Dutch immigrant moved from Hawthorne NJ to work here in Los Angeles. He worked for Carpenter Steel now Carpenter Technology out of Reading for almost 40 years. He was a legend in the specialty steel world and I was so proud when someone would say oh you’re Richard Steylings daughter. Even his sales awards from the 30’s are dear to me.

The Lord works in mysterious ways. What an awesome visit you had with "Uncle Bill". Maybe the high school should do a history display cabinet.

I'm a huge fan of you rummaging through items and finding treasures as you rummage, but this has to be my favourite vlog of yours ever. The joy and passion shown was a privilege to watch. And randomly stumbling upon such treasures and history made it even more magical. Just heart warming. What a guy! Hope you have a wonderful time when you pop back and visit this lovely family Xx

When you go back you should interview him and make a video that you can give to the schools historical society or group. Once he is gone, so are his memories. If you can record the memories, they will be preserved forever.

I think the most wonderful part of the yard sale was talking with the older man. Many people don’t talk with older people. They’re losing so much history by not listening. My friends mother lived to be 102. She had many fascinating stories to tell. I had a supervisor who had an elderly mother. I used to cut her hair. I also loved to talk with her. Her first date with her future husband was a John Phillips Sousa concert. She saw so many changes in her lifetime. I’m glad you found such amazing treasures. Thank you for always sharing your enthusiasm.
