Bringing Home my Puppy! (Patterdale Terrier X Shih Tzu Puppy)

We got a puppy! His name is Guinness, he is an 8-week old Patterdale Terrier X Shih Tzu. He is 100% a Hufflepup - loves the snuggles, obsessed with people, likes to hang back and observe before jumping in, and weirdly chill for a pup! This is a vlog of his first 2 days with us :)

We tend to use the Wainright's dry puppy food from pets at home, so you might want to try that! :)

I strongly recommend a deer antler for chewing or a yacker stick, pets at home sells these. Chews for days and really satisfying for them. You can also get a cotton rope toy and flavour it in stock water and freezing it. Which is great for aching gums during teething. Patterdales do extremely well on a high meat percentage diet so giving him raw uncooked marrow bones and beef ribs will be great enrichment for him. Toys wise focus on what the breed naturally does and is bred to do. So digging is a fun past time so maybe later consider a sand box or a designated digging spot. And also textured toys like crinkle soft toys and fluffy teddies they can practice on. They are very intelligent and active dogs so obedience training and ball games are a must for them. I used to have a patterdale mix and he was my absolute world for 15 years so expect a long life expectancy. Iv got my next pup coming in a couple of weeks and I'm so excited.
