I store/hang/display my jewellery on a piece of art I created for this purpose. I did my art on a canvas about 6 inch square, in gold & silver paints, then put tiny screw hooks all around the edge. I’ve got it hanging on the wall in my walk in, it looks so pretty with my chains & pendants & earrings hanging from it.❤️🇦🇺

I went super cheap to store my earrings. I use two plastic compartment boxes with snap lids from the dollar store. One has larger sections for bigger earrings. I store them in a dresser drawer. Not pretty but they work fine. When on a vacation I store my earrings in an empty pill container.

I use the zip lock baggies for game pieces, especially Monopoly. Every different denomination in its own bag, game pieces in a another, chance cards in one, etc. I also use the magazines stacked on top of each other on their sides to sort the different papers I use at work for my printer.

Another use for zip lock bags. When you disassemble something in order to clean, repair, or refinish, put all the connectors (screws, nuts, hinges, etc) in a zip lock bag. Add an identifying label to the contents of the bag. Keep the bag among with your project tools and materials until the project is ready for reassembly.

I use tea boxes and the two small narrow trays in the tea box that hold the tea bags. The small narrow box that hold the tea bags are perfect to divide pens, colored pencils, and anything that small long items that you want to separate. I use the outer tea box and the small inner boxes for a lot of “smalls”. 🙂

I took your advice on making do re: not being afraid to use cardboard boxes. But the magazine holder thing stymied me. Until the day I was about to throw out a flat box and realized that once the top *and* bottom are taped shut, it can be set upright so it’s tall and thin; all it needs is to be cut in the shape of the magazine holder and voila! Two magazine holders.
Soooo…this was a good size flat box - much bigger than magazine holders. But guess what? It’s absolutely PERFECT for storing gift bags that are too big to fit in a normal magazine holder. Then, when I ran across another box, I made another one to hold sheets of nori and rice paper wrappers that normally wind up broken and unusable in the pantry.

Yes please do one on jewellery. I have enough to sink a ship (not real stuff though lol).
Oh I'm wishing we had your prices. Stuff you can get at the dollar tree, we often pay $10-$20 for. (That's somewhere around $8-$16usd). It's because New Zealand is small (only 5,000,000 of us) and geographically separated so things need to be shipped.

I display small items of costume jewelry on the shade of a table lamp in easy reach of my dressing table mirror. Choose a shade durable enough for a multitude of perforations. Also select a style of shade that you can freely rotate a full 360 degrees. Only one word of caution, you cannot hang all your heaviest items on just one side of the shade. As in all things, balance must be maintained or the shade will tilt to one side.

I had a large binder with separate sections for a lot of household, health, to do etc.
Decided to get 10 cheap small binders from Dollar Tree and separated the big binder into smaller more manageable ones. Labeled each of course. Now I can just grab the small one when i need it and it is easy to take with me if I need to.( I also use the plastic document protectors, pencil pouches, etc. for small things in them)

Here's another use for binder clips or snack chip clips. Save on disposable vacuum cleaner bags. I'm talking about the bags made of sturdy paper that fill up with dirt long before they wear out. The bottom end of the bag is typically folded over on itself a few times and the folds are sealed with glue. Before using a bag, very gently unfold the bottom end. Mend any tears your made with a sturdy bit of tape, duct tape is good. Use the fold lines to close the bottom of the bag and hold it shut with a clip. Now you have a means to empty and reuse the bag after it is full. You can get many uses out of a single bag before it eventually wears out.

My husband buys bbq which is sealed in a bag and then put in a clear plastic container. I use the containers (which never come in contact with the food) to keep my small pieces of fabric separated by color for crumb quilting or additional pieces for other quilts. It is so convenient to be able to look at the stack of containers and see at a glance the color need.

I also use food storage bags and even the smaller bags you can get in craft stores to separate items. I have a LOT of beads so, for example, all of my green beads are in a gallon bag and each type of green bead is in a separate smaller bag. This way, if I need green, they are all together and I don't spend hours verifying if I have enough of the same type. Also, if they are special, I put a tag from each type in the bag so if I need more I know where I got them. This works for my button collection too. I hope this helps someone. Thank you Norrine for sharing your incredible ideas and inspiration. 😁

I use the 2gallon size zip bags from $store for my 12x12 papers and card stock projects I am working on at time. Keep all the odds and end pieces of a paper pack in one place.

LOL. Thank you for not mentioning me by name when you were talking about "some people who can't operate a vacuum seal bag". I looked all over the house for the blanket we put in there "...I thought it was under here but it's not. Travis, hold this thing... IDK what it is." "Uh, mom? What color's the blanket you're looking for?". "Black... Like everything else in this house I can't find". "I think this might be your blanket". "No, that's waayyyy too tiny... and FLAT!" Yes, Miss Mini Smarty Pants, it was the blanket I was looking for... the one you tucked safely into it's own little vacuum bag. ...you and Travis in cahoots 'r sumthin'?
All seriousness now - well, as serious as we get - I'd be extremely interested in learning about your jewelry organizer. I've done something but it could be better.
And there was something else you said but I can't recall it now. If I do and it's of the utmost importance I will most assuredly find you.
    Love you Mini 🤗♥️🤗
    I'll email soon. Muah!

I already use a lot of your storage ideas....mostly from watching your past videos! Storage containers under my bathroom sink was a life saver! I store my cardstock scraps in a binder and I'm trying to use up some of those scraps! I like your idea of putting dies in a binder so I'll be thinking about how to sort mine. Thought I had an extra binder around but I don't. I'm doing a no spend February so I'll have to wait till next month to get one. I have a few really cute binder clips so I'll be using those for sure. All great ideas Norrine! Thank you for sharing!

Great video, I'm always looking for new ways to get organized. The binder clip ideas are great. I use the different sized zip top bags to separate small items into one box.

I like the locker bins from Dollar Tree and I use zip lock bags for lots of things especially when I travel. Dollar tree has a clear container with three compartments and a lid that is good for things like beads and buttons. On another TH-cam channel. I saw the idea to buy a cheap planter trolley and attach a container to it to make wheeled storage. I bought my planter trollies at Wal-Mart but Dollar General and Dollar tree have cheap ones. I zip tied laundry baskets to them. I have them under my craft table - I am short so I don't need much leg room. I use them to hold bulky items.

That sounds amazing! I'll have to keep an eye out for plant trolleys!

Have lots of material stored in a big plastic container. I need to try the vacuum bags. Brilliant idea! I know this is a little off from crafting but got the idea from you. Hungry grandkids Always need a snack after school. Put hard salami slices and cheese in glad storage bags. Smaller bag inside with crackers and the very small bags with pickles. Just get the bag out of frig and no more hungry grandkids! Other combos of snack food, too! Thanks for wonderful idea! P.S. I need to know how to store ribbon so I can see what I have and access easily. Thanks! Love your channel!!!

Often the very first thing to consider before investing time or money is how an item is best stored. I have a table top Christmas tree. I flocked it with a commercial product and restrung it with high priced twinkle lights, very meticulously clipped along the branches so that the wires would not show. It took me hours. To extend the life of the light strings, the tree needs to be stored away from extremes of temperature or damp. Plus I don't want to squash the branches by jamming them into a box. Its the type of fake tree with hinged branches that fold up against the center post as do the spokes of an umbrella. The solution is a 33 gallon plastic garbage can. Remove the tree stand and plunk the tree into its Summer vacation home. My tree was a bit too tall for the trash can lid, but a 33 gallon heavy duty trash bag made a dandy stocking cap and sealed very snugly around the rim of the can. The tree can be stored safe from dust and safe from being bashed around. And I am safe from stringing Christmas tree lights for at least the next five years.

Genius solution, Valkyrie! I'll bet your tree looks gorgeous!

Wow, I actually use all 10 of these! I've been working on putting more into 3 ring binders, like my dies and patterns for my crafts. I also actually made cookbooks for each of my kids for Christmas with some of our favorite family recipes. Since 3 of the 5 kids are now married, at least they'll all know "how Momma made such-and-such" 😋 Lots of good ideas, especially keeping small things like puzzle and game pieces in food storage bags. Thanks so much for sharing! God Bless!! ❤
