Just got Time-Lost Proto Drake and figured I'd share some information that made it easier for me to get it! Let me know if you have any questions regarding anything I mentioned in the video.
Edit: One other thing to improve your time is addons like RareScanner or SilverDragon to get an alert when either rare spawns

This was a very well doc (I'll just call it) on the Lost Time... I especially loved the map of where he flies, color coded. Just a great guide. Keep up the good work bud

Thank you for ur tips after 7 and a half hours of camping and 3 hours with a group formed he spawned at Water Fall and we killed and got the mount. I never saw Vyragosa so this was incredibly lucky. I also did it on a Max Level character on the Illidan US server, but I think because of the holidays no one was really camping it besides us.

I sat on my main character for 4 hours camping today and got nothing, then i watched your video and did 1 lap on low pop realm with chromie timeline and i got it. Finally got it after so many years. Thanks alot!

Got mine yesterday, with WM on and high level char in Nagrand (US); it's not a high pop server but due to CRZ there were people from othes high pop servers around started camping from 02/02/23 and everyday from 7pm to 1am and after 8 vyragosas the TLPD spawmed just behind me while I was at the front of Valkyrion, nearly dropped my glass of water because there was an horde player flying around, anyways taunt+heroic leap and the mount was mine, GL to you all

The respawn timer is 6 to 22h on classic wotlk. We have the unnerfed version. They changed it to 2 to 8 hours in cata.

we got spawns after 2 hour in classic

This is the exact way how i got mine on retail made char on dead rp realm lev up to 30 bought flying, and was reseting zones after each vyra kill coz she spawned most of the time @ most 3 vyra's per day in a range of 12-14h. It took me 2 days of spending hours before i got tlpd spawned. For everyone out there who wants this drake so bad this is the most efficient way of doing it. Coz you know that you are camping alone :) Right now am hunting this guy on wotlk classic. I am already done with spirit beasts tamed them all while leveling on wrath loque and king krush in same day, day after arcturis and gondria, and i got skoll few days a go he was trickiest to get coz lots of ppl are in storm peaks and he gets killed. Only thing am missing now for full collection is time lost :D.
Wow you’re a madman for getting it on retail and classic. But just as an fyi for classic be sure to use layers to your advantage. It’s the one thing classic has over retail

Is the 2-8 hour respawn timer confirmed for WOTLK Classic? I heard that it used to be 6-22 hours in original WOTLK and was changed to a lower respawn rate later in Retail (MoP or WoD).
You're correct. It used to be a much longer respawn time. I'm not sure if the spawn times are the same in classic, but I'll do some research and respond back to this comment when I figure it out. If I have to look for it manually on classic I'll do that >:)

@@Thiskidmage I'm going to attempt to farm for it in Classic WOTLK Faerlina (which is a very populated server). There is a massive amount of layers so if you could swap between it will be easier. Still going to be extremely time consuming though.

@@Thiskidmage Yea that low population server was a good idea. Mine has like 200 horde and 300 alliance players. and most of the time i have seen about 20 to 50 hord players online. Rares everywhere.! 🤣
i have question about the layers, if i TLPD spawned on layer 1 dose it mean he will not spawn in other layers ?
Nope each one separate so I recommend checking wm on and off just to be sure
Ah! Sorry thought you meant retail don’t know why I thought of that when you mentioned layers…but no each layer is separate so you can layer hop and have a much easier time farming but it also increases competition. I’ll talk about that in the classic tlpd video
Just a quick question. I'm currenlty camping it with NPC Timer while working on a second monitor and what I noticed, even tough I'm not logged out it seems like the zone does reset. So very often I switch over to the game and suddenly all NPC's are spawned some minutes ago instead of hours. How is this possible? Is it because my character is AFK ?
So the zone won’t reset unless you’re logged out for 15 min. It may be a number of things - other people killing those mobs, the mobs killing each other, or the game resetting the mobs completely at a certain point to avoid glitches like adds getting stuck somewhere
lvled a DK on RP server today and went to storm peaks.. found out there were 2 other guys farming this mount so we made a group and each of us was camping on spawn across the map and well after 2 hours it spawned and we all got it :D thanks

my brother and his buddy found a server with low pop they rerolled on to farm the drake. something to do with the cross realms and this one having low pop they were able to get it the first time farming for it.
So lucky. Someone else I just talked to got it first attempt. Idk how people get that lucky sometimes haha
I have that NPC Timer addon but it doesnt work for me the way it does for you. is it a retail only addon?
It should actually work similarly for both though I don’t know if it would be of much use in classic because the zones are almost always going to be populated. I have another guide specifically for classic in the description
I'm on a low pop "Normal" realm. Would it increase my chances if I made a character on a low pop RP realm?
Depends on how often you’re seeing people pass by. On low pop rp realms you’ll basically never see people - at least that’s how it was when I tried that for a day. If you’re seeing a few people fly around, it can get scary and your spawn times may get messed up
I have 21 vyra spawns with not a single TLPD in sight. This is really ridiculous, I feel like there is no hope. It's really hard to find a uncontested phase, but it feels like it's all in vain anyway building up that 2 hour minimum timer when all that spawns is vyragosa...

Yeah it’s definitely a bit disheartening sometimes but you’ll get it if you’re committed for sure. I’m on 300+ runs for blue proto drake so some things are just a lot harder than others. But we’ll get it :)
@@Thiskidmage I got it after 30 vyra kills. Funny enough, my whole party got the mount even tho I tagged it instantly. Another party was stacking on us, all of them got the mount too!
3 vyra, 1 tlpd, 1 vyra again cuz im still looking for one for my gf. just took 1 week for my tlpd though

im at 140 hours camped/looking. ive had 6 vyras. thankfully i can just afk with it on another monitor while i work. but getting close to the drop rate!
Yeah just focus on 10 vyras as a goal. I ended up getting it on my 11th spawn

I'm 170 hours in camping... no luck... I'm big sad on classic.
:( definitely harder in classic without chromie time. Still doing research to figure out if the spawn times remained nerfed like they are in retail currently

Max level is fine if you are on a low pop RP server.
i looking now weeks in retail and i dont get it :(
:( keep trying to stick around for long periods and definitely do chromie time if you haven’t been yet/grouping up with others - those were the biggest things that helped me

Also, just for clarity, if this is for wrath you will have to roll on one drake that drops from the rare. Only one copy will drop, but this was changed when personal loot was introduced
No one is looking for a TLPD retail video right now with Wrath only 3 weeks out. Update with WOTLK classic details please.
I’ll put out a classic version shortly. Just gotta do a bit of research on any better methods for getting it
You literally didn’t show anything specific you said you’d show us specifically the spawn points but all you did was have the flight route playing in background while you talked about shit
So on the map showing the routes there are colored dots that are the same color as the route - those are the spawn points that correspond with the route sharing the same color. I apologize that may not have been so clear
Any addons you recommend for this farm?
A few. NPCTime was mentioned in the video for tracking zone uptime. TomTom for going to spawn points. AllTheThings will track the things in the zone that you haven’t looted, namely Time-Lost Proto Drake and you can alt+right click the name and it will plot the waypoints of the spawns if you have TomTom and give you directions. SilverDragon and Rarescanner should also give you a sound/visual alert whenever you see it in your vicinity and I believe SilverDragon also links with players in your party who have it and you can get an alert if they see it as well.

True. Most people I knew that had it way back got it just by luck though. Not many people were hard camping it. I think in classic people were/are now though
