Lol! Same here. Don't you wish this game had a very flexible difficulty setting so more people can play the game without watering it down? Shoot-em-ups like Tyrian gets it right. :)
And I hope you enjoyed the remixed music and the fireworks as this guy racks up the score count like crazy. :P
but it does novice mode the shot type difficulty setting and not being in red
Sorry for the VERY late reply.
With this being a scoring run, it normally doesn't get THAT crazy, especially with the fact that most of your score comes from bullet-cancelling in this game.
I would love this game.
It seems easier than Akai Katana.
Also, AMAZING video quality!
This is medium difficulty. Strong (hard) is on a whole different level.

I think that was very intentional on his part. Since the game has a rank system, he wanted to lower his rank to have an easier Longhena fight. And you can completely forget fighting Hibachi, as that fight is an absolute NIGHTMARE with power style, as he cannot spam hypers during the final phase and is probably forced to lose some lives there anyways. Only doing Longhena is definetely the much safer choice there.
This is a survivor game FOR REAL.

I think the 4 deaths at the Stage 5 boss are not intentional, because:
_His rank are still level 5 after defeating the boss, which means when facing Golden Disaster his rank will be 2 (got cut by half).
_If he wants to avoid Hibachi, why wasting up to 4 lifes? 2 is enough.
It's possible that he just screw up the other 2 lifes. But I can sure that this player wants to avoid Hibachi because Hibachi+Power Style=Nearly unbeatable, and beating Hibachi doesn't give you any extra points from the bombs and lifes (well unless you no-miss the entire EX Stage, but good luck with that. And yes it's possible to no miss it, though it's unrealistically hard, but at least it's a little bit easier than Hibachi in Ver 1.5. One of the main reason so few people dare to use Power Style because it's literally impossible to defeat Hibachi with Power Style, in fact, no one has ever no-missed it.)

It was on purpose. Probably also to take his rank down to make the Longhena final boss fight more tolerable.
@@AndrewBlechinger Apart from the added score milking during Stage 5, is there any benefit to not fighting Hibachi?
@@inakilbss Hibachi with power style is pretty ridiculous from what I've seen. I don't play this game though, so I can't say for sure if that was a consideration for avoiding Hibachi.

You could always go for something similar but easier, like Jamestown. I guess muscle memory and experience play a huge part along with actual skill.
This game is BULLET HELL! I thought that Twin Cobra is challenging...and even the shmup games from Armor Games. Did someone have to die on purpose to make the final boss somewhat beatable? Wow.

haha yeah these shmup's takes a long time to get good at especially when going for high score since you have to master the scoring mechanics which takes planing and thought.

If he died on purpose it really didn't look like it to me. Usually when I see a superplayer die on purporse it's pretty obvious they're trying to ram into the enemy or a bullet. Here he actually does make an effort to dodge those attacks and only died when things looked to get pretty hard.

From what I can gather, when all the things relevant for runs are in your memory, you don't have to play daily. Though one must still play enough to not forget these things. The most important thing is in my opinion long term patience. And if we look at that angle, it takes many years to get this good. I mean, I play SHMUPs for at least 4-5 years now and I'm not even close to this amount of skill.

@@op10004 And that is exactly it. Just practicing pure skill is only half the work. Getting an intimate understanding of the mechanics, patterns and situations these games throw at you is just as important, if not more so.
And to make something clear, the replays demonstrate the best runs of these players. There are so many more that go to hell, sometimes for the dumbest reasons, if that makes you feel better.

Mushihimesama is hard, yes. But Touhou is fucking easy compared to any of the Cave shmups.

They might be harder... on bullet patterns.
But that doesn't mean they are actually better, also, the simple Score mechanics on any other danmaku is way harder than any Touhou...
Touhou has patterns so of course it is easier, compare it to these with less patterns and more like throwing bullets to dodge
And do I need to mention about their hitbox sizes
