Yes, they are incredible cities, but as the title says the ones in this list are iconic for a reason. Waterpoo is a nightmare of a city but for most OG players it is an important entry in to the list because of what Keralis did in showcasing almost every new asset and MOD the game had to offer. Were this a list of the 10 best cities ever then there would be a vastly different collection.

I honestly think their contribution to the CS1 success and the shape of of the game in 2023 is completely underrated. How many assets & mods were created only for their cities by fans watching the series. And the inspiration it meant for so many players - better than any multimillion marketing campaign! It's so amazing to actually recognise the cities you're referring to. I couldn't imagine remembering names of some real life cities but these fictional works of art have special places in my memory
Altengrad truly is a masterpiece and the most unique series out there. I hope Akruas continues it for years to come, so that we can see how the city (d)evolves as we reach modern times. Honourable mention to JeremyThunder's Scylla Republic.
To this day I still hope Strictoaster and Fluxtrance come back to the game. Nydal and Avalon were the main reason I got into more realistic and detail builds.
The work by Biffa and CPP are of course amazing, but I think this list isn't so much about individual video making skill or presentation. More of actual showcase cities. I think both Biffa and CPP have come very close, and of course it's all subjective anyway. I'd like to give a shout out to @Flabaliki who while now dormant has made some very entertaining and enjoyable CS:1 content. I hope he comes back along with the other ones mentioned here.
Mate there’s something so warm and comforting about your videos, they are so upbeat, and now with your voiceovers and even as a non-native English speaker your mastery of English language and choice of words is great. You are my favourite CS creator and one of my favourite creators full stop. Can’t wait for the CS2 content

Great list man! Love that Flux hits the top spot! Its because of his epic RCT builds that I found CS and have never looked back. Same for me!! I started watching Flux because was looking for RCT lets play cuz I got back into playing it for nostalgia. And was hooked ever since. He introduced me to cities! I hope one day he comes back, even for just an episode.
My fave series so far is still ongoing and it’s really unusual. It’s a series by Arctic Fox. He’s reliving what it was like to play cities skylines for the first time, he’s doing the whole series without mods or DLC a town called Black woods. I think it’s his first ever town that’s why he hasn’t a lot of viewers and he’s still learning that’s why his vids are kinda rough to begin and I get to see him struggling with all the problems I go through so it’s a good watch to see how he overcomes them. Which is why I love your vids it really has helped out us console players. Without you or OE and indeed Biffa we’d be nowhere. I think its a shame guys like Mr Fox haven’t got many viewers, I guess it’s cos it’s down to Mr Fox being so new and doing the town his own way I guess people just want the all the glitz and glamor! In some cases due to algorithms these get left out and all you see are city planner plays videos - whom I love but it seems a bit greedy only a few that get mentioned. But the greatest vanilla player on his first time round is Mr Fox.. I also think he’s the best detalier I’ve ever seen with what little he has to use. Keralis's video's got me into CS 1. Slowly learned what mods he used and integrated it in my own cities. It was always relaxing to watch. Now you are my "Keralis" hahaha, relaxing to watch and still learning about mods.
Saint-Martin-en-Leu by NeguchiMaroyama was my favorite Cities Skylines series, The large number of Procedural Objects used makes this series one of the most realistic in all of Cities Skylines. Also Ay'merican city by Ay' (aka Aylac) because it introduced me to edm, it led me to Defqwop then Alan Walker and the rest is history.
i remember stumbling across and then getting fixated on Keralis' first cities season, and it lead me to get the game myself. and here i am 8 years later, and over 2k hrs racked up across PC and PS4 CS1, and the deluxe CS2 on preorder :)

my favorites of all time were Cabrillo by Pres (RIP), Scylla Republic by Jeremey Thunder (RIP). Also Pittsburgh by Gaseous Stranger, Auridon by FewCandy and 100% Vanilla Baby by Xucaboa are so good, very underrated but still good.
I'm glad you put Fluxburgh in 1! I also got into the game because of him, then moved on to T4rget. I think T4rget always had a smaller following, but i especially enjoyed his first Design and Manage vanilla series, in which he set out to prove that vanilla doesn't mean boring and bad traffic.
Nydal by Strictoaster is the most realistic and breathtaking build I have ever seen. I really miss that on this list, it should really be among the top 3 in my opinion. And I really hope that Strictoaster will return to YT for a CS2 series. Maybe after the first wave of mods will have been added...

Fluxtrance + another one I can’t remember were really the best back in the day. I can’t believe it’s been so long since CS1 came out. I so clearly remember watching the reveal livestream!
Honestly, my favorite part of anything built by Akruas is the fact that several of his cities contain Ace Combat references despite the fact that he didn't know what ace combat was until he read a couple comments Aurelia shares a name with a fictional country within Ace Combat's world, and Asturis (not on the list) is built around a space elevator, which happens to be identical to the one found in Ace Combat 7
I love Atys's cities,! For example Asteria, it is really mind blowing how he match the very new but also the very old, but makes it look so good! Don't miss his channel, it's insanely missed!

Palaven was so much more than a vanilla build. It was a building of a very close family of people from all of the world, most who've never met, during most of and at the height of covid. Palaven formed a bond for some, that cannot be broken. It's magical.

I think all Dutch cities skylines players used to watch videos of Tiesgames. I rewatched a few of his videos recently and it got me very nostalgic.
I miss pres. New Windsor and Columbia City were some of the series I liked the most on TH-cam.

Flabaliki was always one of my favorites but his saves usually broke before he could finish series
my favorites of all time were Cabrillo by Pres (RIP), Scylla Republic by Jeremey Thunder (RIP). Also Pittsburgh by Gaseous Stranger, Auridon by FewCandy and 100% Vanilla Baby by Xucaboa are so good, very underrated but still good.

I'm glad you put Fluxburgh in 1! I also got into the game because of him, then moved on to T4rget. I think T4rget always had a smaller following, but i especially enjoyed his first Design and Manage vanilla series, in which he set out to prove that vanilla doesn't mean boring and bad traffic.

Nydal by Strictoaster is the most realistic and breathtaking build I have ever seen. I really miss that on this list, it should really be among the top 3 in my opinion.
And I really hope that Strictoaster will return to YT for a CS2 series. Maybe after the first wave of mods will have been added...

Tbh, one of the best series/citys for me (cause this is a personal preference) is Maya by Palm'sTime.
His Japanese Themed City was one of a few series I totally watched like an addiction. So honorable mentions would be def. PalmsTime
Keralis I remember as one of the first cant miss creators. Offered so much comedy and drama in his builds and videos. Definitely hoping to see him make a return to CS2
Sanctum Gamer would definitely make the top 20
Fluxtrance + another one I can’t remember were really the best back in the day. I can’t believe it’s been so long since CS1 came out. I so clearly remember watching the reveal livestream!

Honestly, my favorite part of anything built by Akruas is the fact that several of his cities contain Ace Combat references despite the fact that he didn't know what ace combat was until he read a couple comments
Aurelia shares a name with a fictional country within Ace Combat's world, and Asturis (not on the list) is built around a space elevator, which happens to be identical to the one found in Ace Combat 7

I love Atys's cities,! For example Asteria, it is really mind blowing how he match the very new but also the very old, but makes it look so good! Don't miss his channel, it's insanely missed!

I think anything made by blackfox is criminally underrated, he imo pushed all the super complicated mods to their utmost limits and set a new standard

Palaven was so much more than a vanilla build. It was a building of a very close family of people from all of the world, most who've never met, during most of and at the height of covid. Palaven formed a bond for some, that cannot be broken. It's magical.

Also i would have to try adding non-English creatrors too, like @R4pela or Leal Mafor if that would have mean increasing the size to Top15 or Top20. But i'm very agree with the list. Absolutely agree with that last statement. They are the original three in my eyes. I also hope they make a comeback for CS II
