I bought one of these based on reviews, but have severely disappointed, the Z axis stopped working after 6 months of infrequent use and all the grease seized up in the joints. there is no local source for replacement grease, and I have not found a solvent that will touch the old grease without fear of melting the plastic.
All axes, except of the minithrottle, are magnet based, so no touching, no wearing. Most probably it's a software issue. The grease used is made by Nye, the most reliable and expensive on this market. It would definitely wouldn't harden, melt or whatever in less than a few years (if that). Some people prefer a heavy dampening feeling, similar with the factory grease and in this case Nye PG 44-A is recommended. Other people would like to move the joystick faster and eliminate the dampening - the options for this would be Nye 767A and 774VH.
About the extensions - no extensions other than the OTA (vkbcontrollers.com/?product=omni-throttle-adapter-for-gladiator-nxt) are specially designed and recommended for the NXT joysticks (EVO included). The GunFighter series would fit extensions though.
What type of grease should I use in my NXT?
read the thread above!
How long can it stay so smooth with the first default grease? What to do if this special smoothing grease has dried out over time ?
Get a high viscosity, plastic and electronics friendly grease and regrease as shown in video. That shouldn't happen too soon though.
Nyogel PG-44A.
How often should we replace the grease?
Couple of hours of play daily for a year - you should be fine, even longer than that. If you feel that it needs regreasing we recommend Nyogel pg-44a.
Add oil filling holes, same as oil filling bearings.
How often do i have to do all this stuff?
2, 3, 5 years maybe? Depends on how much you're using it and if it really feels sticky.
How to recognize if my G.NXT needs regreasing?
If the motion becomes rough or uneven.
Does the Evo ever need regreasing?
Maybe after 2 years or so, if you use the dampeners pretty hard. There's a compartment inside the base with some grease, if needed.
@@VKBSim Oh, like there is spare grease included inside? That's pretty neat.
Is there any guides or instructions anywhere of how to do this for the EVO? As I rather have this looked up before hand so I can get to it as soon as the need arises.

Что за смазка?
Hello guys, anyone know an alternative to the Nye or nyogel greases they are not available to buy in my country.
Unfortunately nothing else provides the same results :(
@@VKBSim thank you for the response, sad that there is no alternatives
Hi, can I use WD40?
I'd not recommend, it contains a solvent that can damage plastic parts.
Please don't!!! You need grease, not lubricant.
Would appreciate a maintenance video on the gunfighter gimbal, i know it is all metal, but i assume sometimes still need some maintenance.

If you want to clean it up and use your own grease paper towels and a bit of alcohol would be more than enough. But we've tested many types of grease and we chose the best, so we wouldn't advise to change it.

@@VKBSim I appreciate the response, the problem is that what ever grease was applied at the factory is not solvent in alcohol, barely solvent in carburetor cleaner so removing it all is impossible. I tried using a normal grease lithium based but the friction in the mechanism was too tight and that didn't work, upon assembly I accidently pulled off the connector to the Z axis. now I have a broken unit that if I were to spend a lot of time and money to repair still wont work because the Z axis has a "software" problem which may or may not be resolvable, It's going in the trash
@@DEeMONsworld Should've asked before using that grease; I would've linked this video: th-cam.com/video/59F9qUDNwnQ/w-d-xo.html.
My offer to help fixing your joystick is still on; you could contact our customer service, get a new cable, then I could get you through fixing the 'z axis issue' and have it calibrated.
If you decide not to do this, please don't throw it away; donate it instead to somebody who have the patience to fix it and appreciate a precise and reliable joystick.
And how replace grease on yaw axis?
Thats for both Y and X axis.
@@triyo1089 And Z-Azis?
@@EnriqueRomagosa couldnt find a way to break down to twost axis and didnt wanna break it
Did you ship me one with NO grease?? It's brand new and reacts like in the beginning of the video
That's the default grease, it should be like this. Many people (myself including) prefer the feel of it. This tutorial is for folks who want it more bouncy, like other cheaper pincer sticks
@@wall_k wouldn’t say cheaper. I used nyogel 767a grease and its amazing. Feels much smoother than the base grease they use, and its much lighter to manipulate the sticks as well. Makes precision a lot easier
@@triyo1089 Yeah I just got mine and tbh it feels like there is TOO MUCH grease on the damn thing ... Got nothing to do with price. TBH I'm thinking of not even buying a second and just going straight Virpils because those at least seem to move smooth a.f. out of the box. This is a work out, trying to dog fight in space.
@@AKARazorback lol for 150 though the NXT is amazing for that price, virpil youre paying about 400 bucks for one stick
@@triyo1089 Compared to the T16Ks, however, their main upgrade is the buttons on the top. Precision isnt there due to having to push it through clay feeling. I think its just the grease - I have a newer one, so maybe already applied with Nyogel version. I'll update my findings after more use.
Apparently mine came with no grease, it takes 500 ms or so to return to center out of the box.
Edit: That's the way real airplane works.
NVM, Just show them this:

without this slo mo ish effect will be better
I just received the joystick and must I disassemble it entirely at the risk of breaking it and losing the warranty, because it comes from the factory without greasing?
Is it a fucking joke?
The grease is like dried honey and very difficult to remove.
It is incredible that a product can arrive in such bad condition and without passing quality controls.
I am processing the replacement or return of the product.
I am very unhappy with the poor quality of such an expensive product.
It is impossible to remove the grease, I have tried alcohol, kh7, soap with water ...
