In the first episode of a documentary AMORPHIS give insights into the band's studio work. Watch drummer Jan Rechberger as he discusses his part of the album recording process, for which he cooperated with Oskari Auramo among others.
Jan states: "Of course, the production process was a bit different this time because of the Covid situation; everything had to be done remotely, so Jens [Bogren; producer] wasn't there to kick our a**es. But overall, the result will stand the test of time a bit better than our previous records in my opinion as it's even more progressive and even more unpredictable: it's a bit longer songs and I think even heavier, rhythmically more interesting and a sort of rougher."

I mean, I always enjoy his drumming in general.
But he really hits it out of the park on this one, in my opinion.

Jan talking about the new album standing (the test of) time even better than their previous albums makes me even more exited. I mean he was there when they produced genre classics like Tales from a thousand Lakes and The Karelian Isthmus, and their last three albums have made a similar kind of impact on me (Circle basically brought me back to listening to metal, and Amorphis has even become better from then on out). So I'm already pretty sure that I'll still listen to Halo 10 or even 20 years in the future. Like with everything else they've done.
