You know I watch all the AVGN videos and what not and look back on my childhood it made me realize that Maximum Carnage was the only LJN game I ever played. I think I got lucky.
Awesome run. I have this on Sega Genesis and I swear, this game became so much easier for me once Venom became available. I never finished this game but I still love it.
Losts of trial and error. It's pretty much impossible to beat if you don't know where all the secret areas are. And same Diego I was never able to get passed the final carnage battle.
Absolut Top. Wer das Spiel wie ich damals nicht selber gespielt hat, kann die Begeisterung für dieses Spiel nicht verstehen. Du hast alles drauf. Einsame Klasse!
Kind of a funny story here: I got this game when I was probably around 10 years old. It was one of the few sega games I owned, so despite it being a pretty tough beat 'em up I eventually mastered it (nowhere near as well as you) Flash forward about 8 years later, and I was hanging with a buddy of mine who just so happened to have it. We talked about how it was a tough game, and I told him that I could beat it no problem now. He didn't believe me, so we popped it in the genesis and I went at it. I was a little rusty, but still good enough to get to the last fight. He asked me if this was the last fight, and I said yeah. He then turned the power off to the genesis hahahaha.
that would have been a good time to go Arnold vs Sully. "Remember when I told you this was the last fight? *I lied.*" **proceeds to whoop friend's ass**
Wow...so nostaglia! I beat this in sixth grade, but it was a very tough game. I didnt know about the first secret room. Didnt know about the whirl and twirl you did at 6:54. Thanks for helping me relive my experiences with this game in less in 25 minutes!!!!
that was mighty impressive, man!you not only complete one of the hardest beat em ups in history as fast as possible but you did it with style!two thumbs up!!!
I loved the little character bios in the manual. Those old game manuals were awesome edit: snes version is what I had, dunno what the Genesis manual was like but I assume very similar
There is a secret room in the "climb" level. And at the beginning of the deep level there is an extra life in the right part. Great game!! I love it and I love shriek and black cat in this game ❤️❤️
Much love to Spiderman, and all the games. That said, tell me there’s not been one time someone heard this music and sound effects. then walked in saying, “Alright! Battletoads! Wait-what is this?”
I never struggled with this game. Once you learn where all of the hidden items are...and I mean ALL of them....it's incredibly easy. I used to beat this over and over as a kid just cause I loved playing it.
Wow, I never realised how short this game actually is. I played it for years and never ever beat it, until after I saw this video. I didn't even know where some of them heroes you could call in where in the game but now I finally do. Anyways nice speedrun by the way.
It feels pretty long when us normies play it though, sure the game's length is artificially extended by throwing the same bosses at you over and over I was (and probably still am) very good at this game and beat it easily, but there is no way I (or people most) could beat it in under 25 minutes, so I would say this game is quite longer than that
The only exception is the Alleyway boss fight. After beating the first big guy (although you wouldn’t do that in a speedrun), double smashes will not instant kill the next waves of 2 or 4 big guys. It still works on all 5 pairs of bosses in Prospect Park, provided you never hit any of them.
That...that's all it took to take out the girls in the first level?!?! I busted my ass FOR YEARS trying to out-pace their damage! Dang it! AND you can spin them while you hold them!?!?!
I have beat this game multiple times. I know where every hero icon is and every secret room. This is one of my favorite games ever made. I had no idea until now you could pick people up and spin them lol
This was undoubtedly fucking difficult, but still entertaining nonetheless; so I played the hell out of it until I finally beat it one day when I was 8 years old. I am 28 years old now... damn I miss the 90's.
Anyone who was/is a hardcore gaming/fighting game fan from the 90's who had the luxury of owning a genesis and snes or had one and a Friend had the other knew this already brotato chip, it turns out that way for almost every single game that was out for both platforms, everyone liked the genesis version better in terms of play-ability and preferred the snes for sound.
I don't know if anyone else noticed this, but the music that plays whenever he summons up Deathlok sounds oddly familiar to the Terminator theme. Makes sense in a way, just wondering if I'm not crazy for putting that together.
Sound and music is wayyyyyyy different on the SNES than on the Genesis. I preferred the Genesis music better but this is awesome. I never could get the web double smash when I wanted it.
great run. on chase, why don't you just drop? it's a near death abuse since you will automatically transition to time square. or you had to catch to get cloak, yes?
Is there anywhere that tries to document secrets and hidden items for this game? There's a hidden continue I found as a kid and I still remember how to get it but I've never seen anyone else find it. No guides, no walkthrus, no tas, I can't find an image or video of it anywhere. It's just an extra continue but it's in a place you'd never look nor even realize you can get there in the first place.
Been trying to beat this for a while now... Retro games are the best. Anyway, how the hell do you get the hero icons to activate. I've tried every button and every combo.
I'm tempted to buy an snes because of all the great games on it. And this, Saturday night slam masters, and sunset riders are the ones I plan to buy. If any of you have any good recommendations I'd appreciate some game ideas. just btw I already have chrono trigger and earth bound for my ds and Gameboy.
Joe D Super Mario RPG was excellent for SNES as well as Star Fox. Megaman X trilogy are great games as well. Super Street Fighter 2 if you like fighting games.
Legend of Zelda, donkey Kong country 1-3 just for sheer brilliance in visuals and ambiance, and a final fight. Either 2 or 3. Knights of the round if we getting to play whatever with money not being an option.
I always thought it was important when playing a game you know the first names of the henchmen you're beating up. The only things that were missing were their last names, their DOB, occupation, what city they were born in and their marital status.
Where did he get that captain america assist? The faq just states there is one captain america icon in the hidden statue of liberty stage but josh doesnt even visit that stage yet he has captain america assist. How and why, im always lacking that captain america assist in the last pre boss stage.
How are you not finishing the combo with the uppercut? I was trying to do it before watching this video and I didn't think it was possible. Please share. Thanks.
The enemies in games like this always make me laugh. Guys in baggy shorts and girls whipping their hair fighting meta-humans that are ripped with muscle
This brings back memories! I always thought some of the villains in this game were kinda dumb - the ponytail bitches & Mary Poppins' henchmen (the guys with the umbrellas). Nevertheless, a brilliantly fun game! I always remember my friend & I desperately trying to beat the shit out of that fat bloke (5:59) without dying - the one that knocks you down before Cloak & Dagger come to the rescue. Is it even possible? I felt like we got so close several times before inevitably eating pavement...
Hold up above head, tap A/B and alternate for the SNES. Not sure if it does more damage or not. It's mentioned in the instruction manual and you can find that in pdf form online.
@@Sterrevedette You grab them with your web and pull them in when you get them next to you and your holding them you just press up and he lifts them above his head and you can walk around with them before you throw them

5 years old when I played this game. I'm 26 now. Crazy memories
i'm 34 and i played this one when i was 12!
still do
Same 33 and beat it last year.
The memories of childhood
When life was so much simpler
that double k/o in the beginning triggered me like i didnt even know
Yeah it got me pumped up like WHOA GET EM!!!!!! lol
You know I watch all the AVGN videos and what not and look back on my childhood it made me realize that Maximum Carnage was the only LJN game I ever played. I think I got lucky.
You definitely got lucky bro. Though I liked some LJN games. Back to the Future was terrible, but I love parts of it. WWF Raw I loved too.
As a kid i never got passed prospect park 2, this was a pleasure to watch!
Awesome run. I have this on Sega Genesis and I swear, this game became so much easier for me once Venom became available. I never finished this game but I still love it.
Sentinel (Gaming) I spent hours trying to beat it, and never got passed Carnage final battle, had to get some cheats, but still great game.
Losts of trial and error. It's pretty much impossible to beat if you don't know where all the secret areas are. And same Diego I was never able to get passed the final carnage battle.

Classic game I will always cherish! 👊👊👊👊
All "double bosses" can be killed by a single double smash at the very beginning of the fight. Loved this game growing up!
Conner White I found that extraordinarily satisfying, especially when I did that to the doubled up old man boss in the park level.
How tho

best soundtrack ever in a SNES game
grats funkdoc
long lost game thanks for bring it back
after picking up a guy, you press B and A alternating, to spin the guy. It does absolutely nothing of any significance. no extra damage.
love this game so much.timeless
Venom: so strong he can knock people out by pounding the ground near them
Also Venom: has to punch someone 12 times to knock them out

Nostalgia! i had this game on my mega drive 3 16bt best spider man game ever soundtrack 20/10 , head to head the best hit!!

I was gonna comment that myself! I played it on the Genesis first and was so shocked when I was playing on a buddies SNES
The Snes has much better audio
2:24, me whenever I see a group of heels in professional wrestling.
Nice well played...What happened @ 13:15 in Fantastic 4 Lab,whats the trick?

Green Jelly was the shit. "Three Little Pigs" is a great song of theirs too.

You push down near the end of the combo. Better chances of a power hit.
Probably the greatest game ever
That and separation anxiety.
And Superman 64
6 :54 - how do you do the spin throwing attack?
That long stretch of nothing but boss spam. Thank goodness for all the full screen instant kill specials.
13:55 Its amazing at the age of 8 I figured this trick how to beat this boss. Fighting it stright forward is impossible.
Chido juego del Snes fue uno de mis favoritos.

Matt Tate Meta Humans is a term used in DC, not Marvel. So you should just called them super villains or something like that.
My god, you can hear the fedora being tipped.
That music though!
How does he reset the punch combos ? everytime i try to input three atk buttons and stop for a moment he continues it with the last 2.
if you pres 'down' button, you reset them, though it takes a while to master it properly...
How can you grab then throw someone?
God this game was so hard when i was a kid
this game was a rare LJN gem lol
Why do the characters know every name of every single person they're recklessly punching in the face? It's like their fist tells them their identity.
