dude you dont even need to obuy a original ps3 i got a ps3 slim from japan i the the blue one and i jail break all slim models and few super slims or not all super slims can be jail broken then you can play ps2 games . i did that too my ps3 slim i jail break playing few ps2 games on my collection .yea but longgevity wise the ps3 slims are better all the ps3 are on its last legs i got the slim because my phat pas died i owned since 2008 it died on april tuesday april 6th 7am in the morning on Saturday playing rachet and clank trilogy dead she in heaven now .
