Nice job Charles keep it going.
If it starts leaking or the compressor goes bad just replace it. As I know you keep 407c on your truck or you could test our r 458 a. Or blueon and change the piston in the evap coil to an adjustable txv and replace the pressure switches if you need to.
. Then that old school carrier eficiancy wize will compete with all the new systems and kick there butt.
And Charles I know from a video Ted Cook did awhile back that that the tonage for those old systems might be lower
but on the old r 22 sytems they got cold as hell or as Ted Cook explained a old school 2 ton for today's systems would be a 3 ton to me.
that units physical size looks like what would be today a, 5 ton system maybe larger. Either way those sytems are gold keep em running, repair them if you have to replace compressors if you need to if they develop leaks. but if the compressor is okay fine.
but to me Charles the only thing that might need replacing soon is a compressor. And I'd that's the case just blueon it or 407c it and it should be fine and defenetely make it to 40 VS the 410a mess unless charles you are like Ted Cook and bought r 22 by the pallat before that phazeout began.
Or are planning to buy 410a by the pallet for which I hope Ted does himself.
Ahh the mess begins again as everyone was going replace with 410a get a new system and look what's going to happen now everyone is going to go but my new refrigerent just does not work like 410a did its just not as cold. With r 452b or a or whatever.
But with r 22 you at least have 2 you can use to charge and replace maybe 3 as mo99 can work too if you are in a pinch while you figure out which route to go.
And that's a, good thing to have 407c mo99 and blueon but to me Charles I am liking the blueon the best with 407c as second best and mo99 as the third place.
    But that's just me.
Keep em coming charles and maybe in 15 years they will figure out a suitable replacement for 410a that actaully works better than 410a but honestly I think the blueon stuff is the right choice and just replace the pressure switches with lower pressure switches and an adjustable txv.
If the government would allow that.
    Just my thoughts charles.

No new unit presently made will ever last like this workhorse. Wonder if it had a noisy 1000 lb tank spec Bristol compressor.

The compressor is original. Not sure which mfr. but it still lives.

Why is there shame in using a fan puller? I have one, and have used a puller almost every time I have to replace a motor. Yes sometimes I can get the wheel or the blade off without a puller, but some times it is a lot easier using a puller. I clean the shaft with sand cloth, and spray the hub / shaft with WD40 or Kroil. We have these tools that are specialized but we are afraid to use them when we need to. I don't get it.

Hey Mr. North Carolina Tech, you are definitely a good service technician got no qualms about that but I think that was a Ted Cook cut you know Ted Cook don’t believe in using the wheel puller or nothing absolutely nothing that’s just his way and he’s a good technician too, wanted the best. I will say that, and he holds up the South Carolina area, I guess he does. I don’t see many videos out anymore, but maybe he still making them talk to you later catch you signing out from Tallahassee Florida.

Yeah, I’ve talked about pullers in the past and I try not to use one myself, but this thing was stuck like you wouldn’t believe and the only thing that was gonna get it off was that puller or that Milwaukee power tool that he uses. Since I don’t have one of those, I used the puller. He still puts up good videos, just spaces them out a little.

Hey I am impressed! Who is going to put this kind of effort into a repair of a fan motor these days? NOT MOST they'll just try sell ya another Goodman condenser to go with the others already there.
