I have this bike. I’ve ridden it from Texas to Oregon California Montana. Cross country all over. LOVE THIS BIKE!
I find it closer to a harley with its 270 Degree firing order, especialy in the lower RPM range. Also, the bikes are 6 speeds.
I have the 2020 Bonneville version of this. Also 1200cc. In the spec listing being scrolled on the left at the beginning of the walk around @1:00, I noticed it lists as a six speed like my Bonny. Yet during the ride you stated it was 5 speed....? I'm confused now.
I did like the speed master and the Bopper, though I live in a small town in Colorado so the Bonneville is all I needed for just around town. You can't really go wrong with any of the Triumph line. It all depends on one's preferences. The history of Triumph is what I draw to as well. Then anywhere and everywhere I go, Harley riders, etc., are commenting, stopping to take a look, asking questions. A few times now I have even been complimented on what a great job I did restoring it. I just laugh and say "I wish I was that talented". Then I explain the fake carbs and from there they had to really inspect and were in awe. Just about every one of them wanna go get one. Though in my town, I think I'm the only one. The only time I ever see another Triumph is during the summer tourist months. Have yourself a relaxing fun ride Rick. Be safe, Be cautious, and ride the wind.
Yeah, he was wrong, it’s a 6 speed and I disagree with the “sweet spot” , tiring with wind on a cruiser with feet forward, but to each their own…

I have a 2012 speedmaster. Very reliable and I enjoy it every time I jump on.
Beautiful motorcycle. Triumph really nailed it with this design. The seat looks very comfortable and 1200 cc is plenty powerful enough. Great review. Thanks for sharing your ride.
Awesome review thank you. I think a decent wind screen might be worth having even if only for bigger rides.
I put floorboards on my Indian Scout. Big time improvement.
Also has a fly screen and crash bars. Great upgrades.
I have a Triumph Bobber in green I purchased last year love that bike.

You are so right on the complete stop🛑! Only time I got popped by the police was just that, it was late 2am no one around and I just wanted to get home. He gave me a warning since I hadn't been drinking.

When you get older you'll appreciate the leg position much more. I'm trading in my Tiger 900 for a Speed Master because it just hurts to ride after a short time. I'm 65.
