100 Years Old Abandoned And Deserted Hindu Temple In Massan Village Of Jhang Punjab

- In this video we will show you the very sacred place of “Kathries” (Hindu) which is situated in District Jhang of Punjab Province. This is the only most sacred worship place of “Kathries” in Pakistan where the Kathries and Karar (Type Of Hindu) came and took bath (Ashnan) in sacred pond here. After that they worshiped and specially did circle around this temple means they performed “Tawaaf” around this Takia temple. This is a 3 destinations building which is in the custody of “Auqaf” department (Hindu) Pakistan but not to look after properly this building is presenting the view of ruins. When Hindus and Sikhs went from here in 1947 after partition this building became deserted. When this temple was settled it was called “Hindu Wala Takia” but now no Hindu, Sikh and Karar is nearby this temple and now no population of these communities here. The Hindu sacred pond has now become a bunch of garbage. A tunnel was present in this temple which went far away but the local people have destroyed this. There was a basement in this temple which is now eliminated. This building was constructed with bricks, clay and cement. The pictures of idols mounted on this building till today. The height of this building is approximately 20 to 25 meter and there are no stairs to go on the upper floor. The idols of male and females have constructed on the front of this 3 destinations building but now there is no idols inside this temple and there is no place inside this temple to keep idols. The painting of idols have made on the walls of this temple. This temple has become very derelict and its building can fall at any time so that you should not go inside this temple. This building is situated in the village “Massan” the famous area of “Chund” in District Jhang. This temple is located in forest outside village.The gardens of dates are present around this temple and crops are cultivated here.
NOTE... Muslims have no concern and relation with these beliefs. This video is made only for the historical point of view. I hope you will like and enjoy this video.

We need to highlight the existence of places like this, and need to restore and renovate them. This could result in religious tourism or local tourist who will be interested to see such historical place. Very sad to see this place in such a disrepair & bad shape, it has a beautiful architecture.

An interesting and historic site, this temple has certainly known its hours of glory. It's a shame that it won't be standing much longer without help from the state. But the state is in no mood to shoulder its responsibilities.

It's a shame that this temple was abandoned, If we are somewhat better people then we should have made an effort to maintain this cultural and social history of the land.
We should have made sure that people were welcome back to visit their holy sites left back.
But such is the tragedy of post colonial partition

مسن گاوں سے مغرب کی جانب پیدل ہی چند منٹوں میں پہنچا جا سکتا ہے لیکن یہ مندر کتنا پرانا ہے اس کے بارے کچھ کہنا درست نہیں ہوگا آج سے بیسیوں سال پہلے مجھے جانے کا اتفاق ہوا تو اس کے شمالی دروازہ کے اوپر سنگ مر مر کی ایک تختی دیوار میں چنی ہوئی تھی۔جس کے مطابق بنارس کے راجہ کی راجکماری شادی ہو کے یہاں آئی تھی مہاراجہ نے اپنی بیٹی کی مذہبی تعلیم کا شوق برقرار رکھنے کیلیئے 5 پنڈت بھی یہاں بھیجے تھے۔اور یہاں ایک ہندو درسگاہ تعمیر کروائی تھی جس میں ہندو مذہب کی تعلیم دی جاتی تھی اس کے ساتھ پنڈتوں۔دیوداسوں اور دیو داسیوں اور پجاریوں کیلیئے سٹوڈنٹس کیلیئے رہائش گاہیں اور ہوسٹل بھی تعمیر کیا گیا تھا جن کے آثار اس مندر کے جنوب کی جانب موجود ہیں اس کے شمال مشرق میں ایک نہر کے آثار بھی تھے جس کے بارے ایک مفروضہ تھا کہ یہ بنارس کے راجہ نے گنگا سے نکال کر اس مندر میں اس مندر تک پہنچائی تھی لیکن اس پر یقین کرنا نا ممکن ہے کیونکہ یہ علاقہ سیلاب کی زد میں رہتا ہے اور کوئی سیلابی نہر یا مقامی بولی میں جسے پھاٹ کہتے ہیں وہی ہو سکتی ہے۔اس درسگاہ سے ملحق ایک کنویں کے آثار ملتے ہیں 1947 میں آزادی کے وقت ہندو عورتوں نے اس میں چھلانگیں لگا کے خود کشیاں کی تھیں۔پھر اردگرد کے مقامی زمینداروں نے راتوں رات ان مردہ عورتوں کے جسموں پر پہنے ہوئے زیورات اتار لیئے تھے۔

Brother you might have heard about partition, Hindus moved to India and Muslims to Pakistan. This is not a systematic destruction of temples. This is vandalism which is common occurrence in SE Asia if a building has been abandoned for a longtime.
