I am really happy with the tent trailer. Has made my travel so much more enjoyable and it's kept my costs down as well. I just have to always be aware that it's back there.

Jim, you made me homesick yet again from riding across the island. Rode home in 07 for the Harley Rally in St John's . Keep up the great content. I think I would have "wet a hook" in that pond.

I had intended to go swimming from my "private beach" but didn't. Darn. I'll make you more homesick in the next 6-8 videos before I get back on the mainland.

I had a great deal of fun with the guys and the tour, but it was good to get back out on my own.

Thanks for letting me ride along again. It looks like you had some nice weather this trip. We are finally starting to get some better weather for riding down here in Texas. Our last trip, was cold to start out, but warmed up to 55 degrees F by the end of the ride. AT least this time there was no dens fog or rain.

Wow what a nice campsite you got there. IT was nice to retrace the same route I took across NFLD a few years ago. I never noticed the memorial sites you stopped into while coming down the highway.

Notre Dame campground is one I've started using more and more with it being halfway across the island. You alsmot have to know those sites exist in order to notice them. I've researched Gander's war time history, there are a lot of plane wrecks in the area. The Arrow air disaster raises so many questions. A possible coverup is one of the few conspiracies I believe might actually be one.

great picture of your ride and camper plus beautiful campsite. did you do any fishing? safe riding, rubber side down.

Funny you ask... I haven't done much fishing in years but I've been seriously been considering a telescoping rod and reel to carry with me next summer. So many places where I think I could do a little troutng. It might mean stopping and getting a lot of individual provincial and state fishing liscenses but fresh fish a few suppers would be worth it.

That sharp turn into your campsite at the end of this video brought back a memory of my final camping trip on 2 wheels, where I had a similar sharp turn into my campsite, but U dropped my bike 😳😖🥺
I was cringing as you turned into your campsite, worrying about you dropping yours, but nope, phewwww 👊😁👍

lol... no tip over this campsite. At least not at this one. These were sites set up for people hauling trailers that could back in. That's what's missing on the ST1300 - reverse! I partially overshot it and did not want to go around the loop again. It was a great site though.

Beautiful camping site at the end of video...did you stay a few days, fish, swim & relax.

Unfortunately I could only stay one night there. Would love to go back. I really need to add a fishing rod to my kit. If I had stayed a 2nd night I would have made use of my private little beach for sure.

Thank you for stopping to remind people of that crash. 256 people died that sad day. 8 crew members and 248 of my fellow paratroopers. All 256 of those people were serving their country. Again, thank you.

I stop there every couple of years. Besides the tragic loss of life, I knew a reporter from Gander who was onsite very soon after the crash... before the military took over the site. There was a lot of coverup and whitewashing of the incident. So sad, end of their deployment and on their way home for Christmas with their families. I feel it's well worth reminding people of the sacrifices made for them. Thanks for watching.

I’m new to the channel. I too am an old man on a bike. If I may ask; how old are you. I’m 71. Like what I see so far!

Thanks for finding the channel. I'll be 70 this summer, feel like I am no more than 40 and act too often as if I am 18. A semi-mature 18. I'm enjoying making the videos. Editing and posting keeps me remembering summer rides during the cold winter months.

I am hoping to do a breakdown on my costs with in the next month. Being a Newfoundland senior, my rate per night was down to about $14 Cdn. or about $11.50 USD in province. Typically once I got back on the mainland Canadian national parks were about $26 Cdn. per night and the US state and/or federal campsites around $26-28 USD i.e. $35 Cdn. I rough budget at $40 Cdn per night for a trip to give myself some buffer. Rally and events usually cost me around $15-20 Cdn. per night. Rough estimate for the 81 nights of camping this year is $1,750 Cdn/$1,300 USD. I was about a dozen nights with friends or relatives and another dozen in motels and 4 nights on ferries where I slept in a longe chair. Budget breakdowns sometime in March.

Your so right."……….unfortunately. My thinking on this subject is, we the people actually do remember, it’s our governments that do not and it’s at our expense.

At least both sites, the Commonwealth War Graves and the Silent Witness Memorial are well maintained. It's when I see the tactics Russia is employing in Ukraine that I know the sacrifices in wars during the 20th century are truly forgotten.

What is the type and model of the GPS you have on your bike. Good video. Thanks!!

I have a generic GPS that I bought from Banggood about 4 years ago. China Vision were selling the same one and FodSport had it branded under their name. I can't find it on any of their sites now. The software was Igor which is in a lot of built in car GPS systems. This one from Amazon looks physically almost identical and in the same price range (Cdn $). It does not mention BT connecting for headsets though which mine has. The unit has served me well but I do have to be more careful when creating routes. www.amazon.ca/Motorcycle-Navigation-Waterproof-Satellite-BAOE/dp/B0B6J4FD1C/ref=sr_1_6?crid=3DM0ANDGLEELF&keywords=motorcycle+gps+navigation+system&qid=1676835574&sprefix=%2Caps%2C113&sr=8-6
