How did you stop the wipers working when testing the spray with the bonnet open? I damaged the paint on the bonnet of my old W163 with the wiper arms, so don't want to risk the same happening if I need to do it on my W164
Wish this worked for my Mercedes (2013 r231 SL63) …but mine has the heated washer wiper blades that spray the washer fluid out of about 30 pinholes along the blade. Thank you for the help all the same!
Nice work and some good tips Drew! How many miles have you got now on that X164? Over the weekend I will be replacing the Swirl flap actuator motor and connecting rods (without removing the intake manifolds), looking forward to that!

Hi Mate, great question! On the W164 the windscreen wipers don’t work if the bonnet is open, it is as simple as that! Cheers Drew
🙌
Thanks for this ! Followed your instructions, removed the nozzle and simply put it back and all works well again. Very useful thank you.

Hi Charlie, my W164 has now done 175,000 kms thus a a bit over 100,000 miles. Swirl flap motor will be fun, are you recording it? Cheers Drew
