Great video, but for anybody else working and doing this, having it stuck and not wanting to to get into breaking apart the pump , I did it this way:
I separated the lower ball joint and removed the strut bolt
Removed the axle nut and get the axle out (from the brakes and rotor side)
    Remove pulley of the pump
Then once the axles is out (from the brakes and rotor side) and the pulley is off the pump you have enough room to remove the pump no problem.
Just throwing a suggestion that might make your life easier

Instead of taking the pump apart, could the pulley only be removed?

Question bro my steering is very tough when stop like when backing up no fluid leak anywhere reservoir is full wonder if it’s the pump this video drew my attention?

@chronicle5719 is there any noise? If there's no noise I'd try flushing the fluid. Drain and refill a few times. Drive in between. If there's a bad noise then likely the pump

You can get them at a local auto parts store or hardware store. They are universal, so don't need to specifically be labeled for your car. I got mine at O'Reillys - they were labeled as "Precision Power Steering Washer - 23170007".

Thank you for this. Very helpful demonstration and explanation. Curious, did the new pump body leak after reassembly due to taking it apart to get the new one in?

Pump did not leak at all. I've done an additional 4,000 miles since the video and no leaks at all

Did you change pump because it was leaking or some other reason?

    • @icefire776

@Mr69volks it was making an annoying noise and the handling was really loose. Just an old pump with 150k miles

It looks like he started on the job at night after work. Then he woke up the next day and finished it. I wonder how many hours it took? I'm guessing about four hours. So, four hours at 120 in labor from a shop and 250? for a pump is what it would cost- 750? Maybe a mechanic can work faster or experience removing pump? Hopefully, faster- but we all know we get ripped off by the labor book. Nice video, looks like a mess or nightmareforall to remove.

The labor guide shows it takes 1.6 hours. Lol

I just completed this job. This is pretty much the only video that shows how to do it. One thing that will make installing easier: Put the pump into the hole without the pulley wheel. Then put the pulley wheel on and install the pump. This way you don't have to disassemble the pump itself. Also, you will need a breaker bar for the out-pressure bolt. It will likely be super tight. This job is difficult because there is absolutely no space to do anything.

Dude you saved my life, I didn't have the money to fix my wife's car and she would have divorced me if she found out I spent all of our savings on Bitcoin and couldn't get her a new one. 👍👍

How much it would've been at the shop?
