Mine were only in a 5 gallon tank to hatch and about 50 lived, (out of prob 150) and we moved those snails into our bigger tanks later.

the puffer fish in the back is cute!! but also i’m wondering how you clean a tank with a bunch of baby snails? i’m afraid i’ll suck them up w the gravel vacuum
Ok so we are trying attempting to hatch our snail eggs we made a makeshift incubator so we are hoping it works I think we still have a week to go although it’s not getting moldy looking only in one spot i can see dark spots in the eggs. I also found dental floss works great to get eggs off the side of the tank it was so easy none Popped.
@@WeldonTanks my daughter has a snail that laid eggs in dirt. It burroweed under the dirt and the bunch of eggs are up against the glass we can see, would they survive in dirt since the snail is not in a water tank?
Your videos are super helpful! What do you feed your snail tanks? My mysteries in my 20 gallon community lay eggs like crazy and I’ve successfully gotten a lot of babies out of them, however I’d like to start separating them because I have a bladder snail infestation that I want to deal with. I was moving the babies by hand to my 10 gallon quarantine tank but it’s currently holding a rainbow krib that was severely bullied in another tank and she likes to eat the babies 😬
What should you do with the eggs if you don’t want them? We bought fresh water snails for our office at work along with betas and African dwarf frogs (huge tanks) we didn’t consider the snails mating and now there are eggs everywhere….
I haven’t got mystery eggs, but I’ve got a African land snail. She’s just laid eggs. And there very hard. I’m not sure if there fertilised tho. Is there anyway for me to tell?
I know of the African land snails but I am not familiar with breeding them. I imagine they would harden after they are laid but may still need humidity to hatch
Wel-Don Tanks ... I also would like to onow what you feed ? ... I have a community tank in wanna kinda do some sort of nursery and release them when their a bit bigger back in so they can grow some more ???? Can the specimen tank be used for this ?
What type of water is needed to keep the Baby Mystery Snails safe from harmful chemicals? And when do you put them into your aquarium with the adult Mystery Snails?
I don't do anything specific with my water other than de chlorinating the tap water. I typically let them stay in a breeder box for a couple of days and then move them to the main tank.
After the baby snails are released in a container, what is the process of making sure they are ready to be put back into a tank with fish. I assume they’ll have to get big enough not to be eaton. So, what do I feed them? How long will it take for them to be big enough? Etc Thank you!
My snails were mating today, I think lol. What is the next step if I successfully hatch them? Do they need to be in a filtered tank? How long can they stay in a container? How long until they can go into a tank?
Yes the snails will need to be in a filtered tank. You can keep them in a container floating in a filtered tank for quite some time, I would say dime size to nickel size reasonably in my opinion.
Do you put them in water or let them attached to the side of the glass in the tank? I got a small breeding box floating on top of the water but wasn’t sure if i should put the eggs in the water
If you put the clutch in water it will rot. The clutch needs to remain out of water. You saw me put it in water in this video only bedside the snails were ready to hatch and I released them from the clutch
My son want to hatch his clutch we where not expecting we only have the one mystery snail it must have been layed sometime over the weekend. I want to do the Tupperware thing but my tank is to small to put the container in can I keep it beside the tank?
A lot of the breeder boxes allow you to either hang or float it inside your tank. That will keep the temperature regulated. You could even make your own with a plastic container.
Great video. I have a question. Would the same process be done for Island apple snails? We have a single clutch that we grabbed from a local park (they are invasive here in Florida) but we are trying to get some island snails for a snail kite that is living at the audubon center for birds of prey. It's the only snail we can feed her because the mystery snail is protected. Thanks.
Sinking wafers, crushed up flakes, green beans, really any kind of fish food. Just make sure it is in small quantities that can be eaten so it does not fowl the water
Thank you for asking this. I am at the same stage with my babies. The first thing I thought was green beans, as well as putting them in their own little container so the fish didn't eat them. Got a few questions...My son just found a clutch of eggs today. Our adult snails have been helping clean a GloFish tank. Can the baby snails, once big enough, go back into that 20-gallon tank, or do I need to create a new tank for them? I really wasn't planning on breeding snails. I originally was hoping to do a tank of guppies and watching them have babies. Can you add fish to a snail tank eventually if I need to go with a separate tank? Will tetras, danios, and guppies eat baby snails?
In my experience the fish you listed will not eat baby snails. In my opinion you can add snails back to your original tank but eventually willl become overrun and the bio load extremely high. If you were not planning on breeding snails you can dispose of the egg clutches when you find them just do so responsibly.
i know your breeding snails but i want to be rid of them i had snail infestation and bought 2 assassin snails that ate every snail and when they were done i removed the assassin snails and for 5 years i've been free of snail now i see baby snails hatching like crazy how is this possible ???????
Actually, this is actually really cool!
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME HOW ONE OF THESE BABIES ENDED UP IN MY TANK WITH NO EGGS AND NOTHING NEW IN THE TANK FOR OVER A MONTH 😂😂
Possible it came in on a plant and was small enough for long enough you did not see.
they didnt hatch i think the ones i took Were land snails
awww!
Actually, could you say "actually " a little more?
Actually, I'm beginning to like it.
Actually.
Actually....actually...actually...actually....I can go on and on.
@@WeldonTanks actually, yes I know. Actually...
Please, actually say it again,!
i know your breeding snails but i want to be rid of them
i had snail infestation and bought 2 assassin snails that ate every snail and when they were done i removed
the assassin snails and for 5 years i've been free of snail
now i see baby snails hatching like crazy how is this possible ??????? (didn't add or change anything in tank)
how long do snail eggs live for ??????????????
