The amazing feeling one receives when you give a camp the slip can't be put into words. This is an amazing tool any pilot can have sitting in their toolbox for those, "just in case" moments.
I fly cloaky most of the time so when I'm in something that can't warp cloaked I do the mwd/c trick. Every time. I feel so naked and exposed moving around without a cloak.
A quick pointer here, a common mistake is to put shield extenders on ships while doing this. If you are relying on your cloak do not use shield extenders or anything that increases sig radius. The reason is that sebo'd insta-lock ships always have a chance to catch you due to how server ticks work. They must be able to lock you within a second though, that is why sig really matters. The only time you should be using shield extenders for travel is if you are traveling through hi-sec areas where gankers may try and alpha you. In most other cases if you are caught a shield extender just means you die slightly slower.
The Mastodon specifically also gets nice bonuses to shield resists, shield resist modules, shield boosters, and overheating both of those so you can be pretty shield tanked without blowing up your signature. #replyingtoa10montholdcomment It also gets a 100% bonus to overheating prop modules and I wonder if that's enough to make using an AB for this possible.
if you are hauling high value but low volume items like blue loot, i suggest using covert frigate to haul it as its way faster and you get that cloak. If the item you are trying to haul is medium sized, use a blockade runner as that also gives you a covert cloak, only bring out the dst if you are trying to move a whole marauder from place to place along with the fits (at that point i suggest hauling the fits in a frigate then the marauder itsself in dst)
Side note: If you are moving a freighter, you can have someone friendly lock you and double stasis webify you once you have reached a about a third of your top speed, you will enter warp almost instantly because your max speed has been reduced to 36% of your normal max speed. This works for freighters because most of their 'enter warp' time is spent accelerating to 75% of max speed to enter warp.
Just a note, anytime you are hauling valuable loot in hisec, you should use this too. 100m in your hold is a baseline number for a suicide ganker to profit from the loot you drop, and if there's something rare, that alone can trigger them to roll the dice to see if they'll get it from your wreckage.
I've been playing around with the MWD+Cloak trick and found those tricks which seemed to help counter lag issues that can occur sometimes. What do you think? 1) Sometimes, I found that if I don't properly wait for the alignment to begin (ship starts moving) that it fails to activate the cloak because of the gate cloak interference. To help with that, I found that switching to the 1st person view while traveling makes it much easier to see when your ship starts moving as the whole HUD moves and not just your ship which can sometimes be hard to see when cloaked against a bright background. 2) Watch out for module readiness! It happened a few times where my cloaking device wasn't fully ready on the next jump, and it prevented it from starting. You really have to make sure that there are no ticks left around the module button (that the cooldown is over) before you press it again. 3) Sometimes on busy systems, hitting the Cloak + MWD hotkeys too quickly in succession glitches (happened to me several times), so it might seem trivial but you really have to take the time to hit them in sequence. Since you have 5 seconds to hit the MWD after activating the cloak, there's no need to rush the MWD. 4) Not sure why that happened, but I had issues more than once in high-sec where even though I had spammed the JUMP button on the overview and that warp initiated properly as a result with the "JUMPING" notification, but ended up idle and uncloaked at the destination gate and didn't jump. I had to hit JUMP again to go through. This could have been fatal if there had been a ganker waiting for me. I don't know why it did that and I am not sure if it was lag or not, but I think that activating the AUTOPILOT as I warped to the gate could help to prevent that. Just have to make sure to disable it as soon as you jump through though...
I too found spamming jump more often than not cancels the actual jump. I just press both cloak and MWD at the same time (hotkeys). If I get the interference message I hit both again. Seems to always work.
You told me we can also do the MJD/Cloak trick, was wondering if you'd like to do a video on that and perhaps give examples on how a MJD could be useful and in which situations. I never really used those and would be happy to learn what they can do.
This is also how you get out of bubbles when using covert ops, it's the same except you have no speed penalty and will be outside the bubble eventually and really hard to find either way. Maybe there was some lag but I would wait until the MWD runs out of it's cycle before deactivating cloak and spam warp.
MWD/Cloak trick is also very useful in hisec against suicide gankers. It can help you prevent them from scanning your ship in the first place, plus prevent the gank as well. You can actually use it on a Orca too, you need to overheat the MWD before activating it and you to uncloak 1 or 2 seconds before the cycle finishes. It's a bit more tricky and leaves you open for that 1 or 2 seconds, but can work too, even if it's just in hisec and to prevent suicide gankers to scan down your cargo. If they can't scan you there's much less chances they will try to gank you on the next system. As for faster traveling I would recommend an afterburner instead which has a 8 second cycle instead of 10. An afterburner can also be very useful for ships like an DST, in case you need to burn to the gate and your MWD is scrambled, so I use dual prop on my Occator.
Does gift wrapping cans with the high value loot inside the can still work to avoid cargo scans? I usually paired that with a bunch of low value salvage loot to flood the scanner. Also I thought the modules you fit on ships inside your ship maintenance bay were also immune, but I'm not up to speed on all the changes from th last 3 years or so.

Necro comment, but I've been struggling to find a perfect indicator on when to activate your cloak. 2-3 things can go wrong following hitting the allign button. If you cloak too quick you will get an error with the gate cloak preventing a new cloak. If you're too slow, they can lock you up in 1 second (especially with local or remote sensor boosters). Very unlikely, but you could have been too close to a ship or something preventing your cloak. As far as timing goes, I've seen people talk about watching for the ship moving from first person mode. Fit Haulers for align , cuz if you aren't fast enough with your MWD+CLOAK trick, your DST will be EASILY decloaked
- Mayor of Thera
If you think you're in a particularly nasty situation carefully align, activate cloak, set MWD to overheat, activate MWD, and decloak at the usual 95% MWD cycle (when hauling I set auto-repeat off for the MWD to be extra safe). I do find that the alignment of different stargates can affect the timing and leave you exposed for several seconds after decloaking. With overheating you'll have 100% insta-warp, even with a DST.
@@centauri8820 100% Insta Warping DST is propaganda that I love :)
I , Legion Masser , have killed North of 150 DST Haulers in the last 18 months with just a Hecate and Sabre , decloaking them LONG before they even think of Insta warping

I 100% assure you there's so many of my Hauler Kills on that list , that you will stop counting my DST kills lololol
Or click the E to see how I do it
That is a mammoth vid!
Haha thank you!
I tried this in a Hawk and still got gunked by a bunch of webs, disruptors and scramblers. Did I do something wrong, or was I too slow?
Looking back it is more like I ran into a bubble first, it seems
Necro comment, but I've been struggling to find a perfect indicator on when to activate your cloak.
2-3 things can go wrong following hitting the allign button.
If you cloak too quick you will get an error with the gate cloak preventing a new cloak.
If you're too slow, they can lock you up in 1 second (especially with local or remote sensor boosters).
Very unlikely, but you could have been too close to a ship or something preventing your cloak.
As far as timing goes, I've seen people talk about watching for the ship moving from first person mode. I've tried watching for the cloak timer disappearing.
@@sportsfreak33393 um he answered why 5 months before your reply to them smh.
If you are an Alpha clone, this doesn't work since you cannot fit a cloak module to your ship. :(
Well, yes. That's true.
Nice, but i feel this video could be 80% shorter

Thanks you very much! I was able to transport safely 3Bil stuff for produce stuff thanks you :) And stuff for production tells more :) Add me if you still active ;) I waiting for answer.
Glad I could help!
8 minutes to tell us to cloak, activate the MWD, and then deactivate the MWD.
And yet you watched it and "wasted more of your time" by commenting. I wanted to make it thorough, explain the theory, and demonstrate.
It's free content, mate. You didn't pay for it. If you think you can do better, please, genuinely, do it. EVE needs more content.
