I know youre going along with the trends to get views, but im pretty tired of every single Cyberpunk video having thirst trap clickbait thumbnails. This is my thought.
A lot of my interest and I guess "love" for Biotechnica story wise, came from the Land of the Free adventure. Such a fascinating storyline and corporation to match it. I find the adventure to be underplayed despite its importance to the storyline and even Arasaka
The fact that Biotechnica is "the least worst of the Corpos" is a scary idea digging into their history. Of all the horrible acts done by Corps, Arasaka and Biotechnica are probably the last people you wanna deal with. Soul Killer and Red Orchid live rent free in my head when playing the game.
The real world equivalents are Monsanto, which bankrupts farmers that refuse their gmo seeds, and pharma companies that created the opiate crisis for profits. Plenty of other things these real world companies did but its more speculation at this point so I'll stick with what is proven.
Exactly choom! Even a Corporation like Biotechnica who objectively has done good things for the world, will also do it's share of bad to outweigh the good. We see plenty of that in PL as well

Just like irl corporations tend to shrink numers but grow in size until they reach the monopoly and the only businesses that can coexist with them (i.e. family run small businesses) are those that could never compete with their products, prices, marketing, etc.
It's cool to see the research Pondsmith put into his lore. CHOOH2, being a supposed grain produced fuel, is very reminiscent of Methanol, CH3OH, which itself is a simple alcohol fuel that can be produced from wood.
Pondsmith once said in a podcast that what is important to him is not what advanced tech sounds cool, rather what people would do with it. So in other to understand that, he needs to understand the current state of affairs and speculative tech. So a completely artificial fuel source was probably a sure bet. It just shows how much care he puts into his craft. A side note is that the modified wheat is easy to mass produce and extremely nutritious to humans. The only reason they haven't massively improved the quality of the food is that using it for fuel is far more rentable.
Remember finding the shard about the biotechnica break-in and about saving one pregnant woman I figured it was a Mad Max reference as there are a lot of movie Easter eggs and video game easter eggs in cyberpunk.
I am convinced Saburo Arasaka survives every ending of the game because of these guys. Obviously he survives if he gets chipped into his kid in The Devil, but for the others: The cloning tech was developed over 50 years before he died, before soul killer. The cloning tech was known about enough to be outlawed, and Arasaka had a tech deal with them so they could have gotten access. I think he wanted soul killer to "complete" the cloning project by transferring his perfect consciousness, and it evolved into the child plan. This man had an entire hospital dedicated to his health, and I guarantee you it wasn't just focused on giving him meds and chest scans. He had post death plans, and I am certain he had contingencies if he couldn't be chipped into his kid. In every other ending he's likely an engram in a clone of his own body trying to take back his company in an internal shadow war.
I think the only ending where this definitely doesn't happen is the new one with Phantom Liberty. If the Arasaka coup failed and Hanako died in the process, it's very likely Yorinobu also found Saburo's engram and destroyed it. Just adds another layer to that ending, you solve your own problems but at the cost of everyone else's lives becoming worse.

Cyberpunk 2077 has lore from tabletop games going back to 1988. CDPR licensed the brand and worked with the creator and publisher so they had access to decades of world building.
wait isnt the clone thing a pretty convenient cure for V in the sun or star ending? V's problem is that his body is rejecting his brain because the nanites have changed it to match johnny's body. So if V can get a clone made of his original self he can just slot his engram on the relic in the clones neck and bam, cured. idk how much that would cost, but considering its been nearly 60 years since the tech was developed id imagine it wouldnt be outrageous for a merc like V. Ive always said a full borg body would also be a solution too, lizzy wizzy style.
Problem with full borg body is that V's brains are also affected with auto-immune tissue rejection caused by the work of nanites. And they need a clean relic chip to put his engram to in order for them to be transferred to a new body. In any "classic" ending except for devil ending technology and means of such an operation are eliminated for good. And in the devil ending Arasaka will never let V to get a new body plainly because V is more useful for them as a new engram to experiment on, then as a replacement for Smasher.
Clones don’t work that way. It’s easy to clone a new arm or leg or liver to replace a lost or damaged organ, but while you can clone a whole damned body it doesn’t have a mind. It doesn’t have a “soul.” I believe these were narrative choices that Mike made because having viable clones walking around would change the theme and story in major ways. It would move the game more into the genre of Altered Carbon, Bubblegum Crisis, and Bladerunner. Also, it would make your PC immortal so long as he could afford to grow a replacement. One of the themes of CP is how extremely mortal the PCs are.

If you do also a few NCPD missions there’s basically a chance of biotech offing its former employees in conversations on data shards it’s pretty bizarre
All corpos are bad because they have to fight over each other and even if they want to be decent, they can't or they will end up as a small fish in a bigger fish's mouth. It's an everlasting game where no corp will get out winning without playing dirty, being the absolute worst.
The eternal optomist in me is still holding out hope that Alt pulled a fast one, and duped both Johny and V's engrave, and tucked them safely away in a pair of Biotecnica clones out in the bad lands that we run around all the time in the game. Orions belt (or project), a ring of cloned body parts for the rich.

Lol the 2020 section is too short though. No nightmare military dogs, no mention of Land of the Free?? The whole cloning situation is fairly terrifying and high level cloning is presumably still canon too. Who knows what they're doing with that info. Biotechnica scare the daylights out of me. And nobody suspects a thing. They're the main bad guys in my current campaign for this reason.
I definitely should've gone more in depth with Land of the Free, I've actually ran the adventure. It's just the open ended nature makes it difficult to fully expand upon beyond the base information about Adriana and the overall objective. I'd say that we could assume that Arasaka did get the cloning info in Canon since it appears in firestorm. Overall Biotechnica is my favorite Corp to interact with in the Table tops

I know I've considered some immutable facts fairly canon for a while - the timeline to cloning, Kei Arasaka having the info, Biotechnica losing Dr Young, etc. Land of the Free is so underplayed despite how good it is. Big part of why Biotechnica are of such interest to me! Quiet villains with a good reputation, playing all sides so they come out without a scratch.

So I have discovered a secret storyline with cyberpunk 2077. Which goes along with your video. Biotechnica/PetroChem. So in this hidden story line V. Has a task to bring down N.C. power grid. In this hidden quest I have ruptured the nuclear power station in arroyo. That was interesting that whole area was in this green haze. Then after that I was able to take down the power grid. Which is important because there are actually 6 different fuels in the game. All biofuels/ all reusable energy. Last thing I am very close to bringing fresh water to the game. If you want to see anything I am talking about I am willing show.

One being the church in Biotechnica Fields. While people are fixed on that church. I already know that Biotechnica was harvesting blood. This blood was made into an energy source for Arasaka. I am getting close to finding final answers. Just too much information with no final answers. I am currently working on the FF06B5 quest. I will be the world's 1st to complete it. In the church there is a computer. In the notes they talk about a sequence that has been completed. That is me I have completed the sequence. Devs know what I am doing. They are waiting and watching.. soon you will have more answers than questions.

They really have done the best in relation to the Earth and bioengineering. Just like any Corp, they aren't free of wrongdoing and especially some greedy execs running projects. I even think that technically the nomad clan project wasn't approved across the board.

Cyberpunk 2077 has lore from tabletop games going back to 1988. CDPR licensed the brand and worked with the creator and publisher so they had access to decades of world building.
The corpo sended by sergei on the car is part of the nomad experiment as well if im not mistaken and he treats nomads as nothing than lab rats.
wait isnt the clone thing a pretty convenient cure for V in the sun or star ending? V's problem is that his body is rejecting his brain because the nanites have changed it to match johnny's body. So if V can get a clone made of his original self he can just slot his engram on the relic in the clones neck and bam, cured. idk how much that would cost, but considering its been nearly 60 years since the tech was developed id imagine it wouldnt be outrageous for a merc like V. Ive always said a full borg body would also be a solution too, lizzy wizzy style.
Problem with full borg body is that V's brains are also affected with auto-immune tissue rejection caused by the work of nanites. And they need a clean relic chip to put his engram to in order for them to be transferred to a new body. In any "classic" ending except for devil ending technology and means of such an operation are eliminated for good. And in the devil ending Arasaka will never let V to get a new body plainly because V is more useful for them as a new engram to experiment on, then as a replacement for Smasher.
Clones don’t work that way. It’s easy to clone a new arm or leg or liver to replace a lost or damaged organ, but while you can clone a whole damned body it doesn’t have a mind. It doesn’t have a “soul.” I believe these were narrative choices that Mike made because having viable clones walking around would change the theme and story in major ways. It would move the game more into the genre of Altered Carbon, Bubblegum Crisis, and Bladerunner. Also, it would make your PC immortal so long as he could afford to grow a replacement. One of the themes of CP is how extremely mortal the PCs are.

If you do also a few NCPD missions there’s basically a chance of biotech offing its former employees in conversations on data shards it’s pretty bizarre
All corpos are bad because they have to fight over each other and even if they want to be decent, they can't or they will end up as a small fish in a bigger fish's mouth. It's an everlasting game where no corp will get out winning without playing dirty, being the absolute worst.

Biotechnica scare the daylights out of me. And nobody suspects a thing. They're the main bad guys in my current campaign for this reason.
I definitely should've gone more in depth with Land of the Free, I've actually ran the adventure. It's just the open ended nature makes it difficult to fully expand upon beyond the base information about Adriana and the overall objective. I'd say that we could assume that Arasaka did get the cloning info in Canon since it appears in firestorm. Overall Biotechnica is my favorite Corp to interact with in the Table tops

Land of the Free is so underplayed despite how good it is. Big part of why Biotechnica are of such interest to me! Quiet villains with a good reputation, playing all sides so they come out without a scratch.

There's a lot more creativity behind the story telling, campaign usage, and they're much more of a surprise when they appear. Everyone tends to expect the big hitter Arasaka. @@LayedBackGamers Oh I've got tinnitus, but this was a different ringing and I still hear it. I assumed it must've been the music because the more I listened I could almost hear it change with the music. The tinnitus I have is more lower pitched which is maybe why I heard it.

So I have discovered a secret storyline with cyberpunk 2077. Which goes along with your video. Biotechnica/PetroChem. So in this hidden story line V. Has a task to bring down N.C. power grid. In this hidden quest I have ruptured the nuclear power station in arroyo. That was interesting that whole area was in this green haze. Then after that I was able to take down the power grid. Which is important because there are actually 6 different fuels in the game. All biofuels/ all reusable energy. Last thing I am very close to bringing fresh water to the game. If you want to see anything I am talking about I am willing show.

@@lordexohunter558 I don't not have that available time.. just yet maybe once I finally finish this quest. I will be able to. 2.0 update brought a few interesting things to the game. One being the church in Biotechnica Fields. While people are fixed on that church. I already know that Biotechnica was harvesting blood. This blood was made into an energy source for Arasaka. I am getting close to finding final answers. Just too much information with no final answers. I am currently working on the FF06B5 quest. I will be the world's 1st to complete it. In the church there is a computer. In the notes they talk about a sequence that has been completed. That is me I have completed the sequence. Devs know what I am doing. They are waiting and watching.. soon you will have more answers than questions.

I am the reason for that church becoming unlocked. I am going to be the 1st person who finishes this quest. people need to learn the 1st color sequence then the 2nd color sequence. Then they need to learn how there Kiroshi Optics correctly, then learn all the bar codes which cars carry which energies . They need to learn how to activate each statues make energy crates, There is so much to this quest people think I can just show it. Easily that is not the case. Sorry for the rant. Peace out
