As a Greek, I'm preety sure we didn't have any wars going on (neither in Europe nor in the Balkans) in 1964...rather some remaining disputes with Albania, kinda like the whole Kosovo-Serbia thing now. Thus we withdrew out of protest of being drawn with them I think

@@Vizeh it 100% wasnt because of a war, it was probably over the territorial dispute of 1913 where greece got gifted about half of its current territories by the west who unfairly took them from albania and then greece proceded to either forcefully kick out or mistreat all albanians living in those territories after ww2... at least thats what i think the reason they withdrew is. I might be completely wrong and it might be some other reason related to voldemort (enver hoxha) but im not really sure

But without Italy's intervention 1/3 of Albania would be Greek territory. Your first PM and founding father (Ismail Kemal) had no issue to give southern Albania to Greece.

@Steriperis1312 First of all Ismail Kemal became a nationalist cause the Nobel prize wasn't given to him thus he had plans to unite all Albanians from the nearby territories. Second off Italy didn't intervene or anything. Also no the dispute for southern Albania will never happen I mean they tried multiple times the last time being in 1997 when civil unrest occurred and the one before was in 1949 where both Albania and Greece were in unbearable crisis so Greeks ran the hell away.

The first World Cup I remember was 2010, the first Euros was 2012. One of the games I remember from Euro 2012 was Ronaldo's two goal display to knock Holland out. He was a monster in that game, no one could get near him. People talk about his hat trick against Spain in the 2018 World Cup and Sweden in the 2014 world cup play off but this game against Holland doesn't get mentioned as often
