Fun to see what you’ve made with the Sprinkles Fabric! Love the jumpsuits especially. Love rayon/viscose fabrics. Sew on ladies - SEW ON!

Great tips. I purchased the tan-colored Viscose Sprinkles fabric and I'm looking forward to working with it now that I see how great it looks (and hangs) on an actual person.

Thanks for the ideas, I’m sure I’ll refer to this when I begin sewing my viscose material, hopefully soon.

Yikes I was just about to shorten a viscose dress without washing it first! Thanks for mentioning that!

What would be the best way to stabilize and add a bit of structure to viscose fabric without losing its lovely drape too much?
    Thank you :)

Thanks for the video, really helpful 👍I had a viscose dressmaking disaster (ended up massively too big for me) & never tried again.
I'm sure I watched another video recommending pinning a thin layer of tissue paper to viscose fabric, underneath, keeps it stable.. I'm going to try this too!

    • @sewknitrepeat6377
      @sewknitrepeat6377 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

As in, pin to tissue paper & cut out the pattern pieces with tissue attached... maybe even sew through the tissue too & remove after. It might have been 'Professor Pincushion', I'll try & find it.

@@sewknitrepeat6377 Yes I've heard that you can do that too. I've not tried it but I know a lot of people swear by it!

I have a pattern that calls for fabrics like rayon/viscose, but doesn’t state that stay-stitching is necessary. Omg, ALWAYS stay-stitch in curvy areas when using viscose, especially if the fabric is cut on the bias. Maybe the pattern maker (one of the “big 4”) thinks that we already know this, but as the pattern is supposed to be *easy*, it might behoove a newbie to be taught this step.

Do you have tips for finding the grainline? Should I trust the selvedge edge edge as my guide?

Nice fabrics, they all look great when sewn into your garments. What brand is the fusible tape with the chain stitch on it? Thanks for sharing. Val🇨🇦🇬🇧❤️

It's by Vilene. We usually stock it but we've just run out. We've reordered though so it'll be back in stock soon!

I would rather see it on the fabric rather than listen to talking for 5 mins

Interesting to view- I have some rather lovely viscose and this will help ensure it sews up well. What is the iron on tape with a chain stitch in it? Is it bought or made?

Thanks for the tips! As far as I was aware, viscose is a man-made fabric. It's made of cellulose (from trees) which is treated with chemicals to make it into fabric but it's not natural like cotton or linen. So technically from a natural source but I wouldn't call it natural...

We haven't tried it for viscose but Nicole uses it sometimes for chiffon and georgette and it works a treat!

Great video ladies. What is the name of the pattern for the jump suit? I have to make a jumpsuit for my daughter in Viscose and Im brand new to sewing. I. Scared stiff of mucking it up.
