Vicks is a cure all for so many things. My sister had acne when we were younger, my mom told her to use Vicks on her face, a daily regimen, today she has a beautiful complexion . We're in our 50s and 60s now. Thanks Mom I miss you.❤

I spent one summer in Louisiana feeding the local bugs. I obviously have the good blood. A kind older lady in a store felt pity on me and turned me onto vicks. I use the lavender scent. I keep a jar on my front porch now and when I sit or go outside i put a few small dabs on my ankles elbow neck & wrists. I am no longer on the menu.

@@nnvincent3 Yes, I've read (often) of the baking SODA trick, mixed equal amounts with a desirable (to mice) food, which has to be dry. Not sure what mixing in the Vick's does.
I don't think it will work on insects. It is just that (again, from lots I've read) it gives the rodents gas which unlike us, they can't pass.
The Vick's not being water-based may not affect the baking soda. The baking soda has to remain dry until it is digested as otherwise it degasses before it is eaten.

@kaydee did camphor and turpentine are both very high in Alpha and beta pinene. It's really cool because they come from opposite sides of the Earth. Camphor I think is generally like Asia or Middle Eastern grows over there and turpentine is over here in the United States:) so although there are differences they have some very big things in common

Get some Jiffy cornbread mix that has the honey in it and baking soda. Mix half-and-half in a little container put it in a couple places you see the mice coming in or the rats. They eat it because it has the honey in the Jiffy the one with the little utensil with honey dripping off of it and because they can't pass gas from the baking soda they go off and croak. It works. I got this idea from my Farmer Rancher on TH-cam

Not really sure this would work wherever mice are fed well. But for folks outside of cities, I think it would work very well. Mice absolutely eat ANYTHING, lol. Clothes, shoes, Tupperware, etc. They are horrible when your dealing with a huge amount of them.

I was thinking that about rats. Rats are known for sending out a guinea pig to try out new food and see if it's safe. If the guinea pig dies too soon, the rest of the rats won't touch the food.

i made a curious discovery. i have had trouble sleeping for a long time. i started playing video`s on youtube with crickets sounds, as they relaxed me enough to fall asleep. when the bedbugs hit the scene, they were going crazy with activity. almost as though they were being aggravated by the crickets chirping. i had to stop playing the crickets sounds videos, and within 2 nights the bedbugs settle down and allowed me to sleep longer without having them jumping all over my head and neck. in retrospect, i am wondering if that couldn`t be used as a way of controlling them, by playing the sounds in another room, or outside a window, so the bedbugs would go there because they were attracted to another insect`s chirping sounds? there must be a way of killing them after they go to where the cricket sounds are playing from.
