Great episode bud. I love seeing all the different methods that ppl use and learn from them to apply my own way. I appreciate you taking the time to film, edit and share this with us.
If you realise your calcium reactor is really and Alk pump, you can use the apex to lower the the ph in the calcium reactor by 0.1-0.4 when the alkatronic reads low, this will drastically increase the alk concentration coming out of the reactor raising the Alk controllably and without the need to make kalk solution.
I just stumbled upon your channel. I assuming you’ve been in the hobby for a while. If so, did you ever know Menard from Acroholics? He had THE BEST SPS aquarium store in Chicago in the late 90s and early 00’s. System looks incredible!
Great question! Will ask Justin and come back to u. I asume it's not a lot since a pretty big system. There is 2 more tanks and a big sump connected to this tank. I believe sump is 120g, 180g display and around 40g smaller display.
Even if you ship 10 gallon a week, and I hope that your business is thriving and you do, that is 520 gallons a year on 340 gallons or more than 150% gross water change. Thanks for asking and I look forward to the answer.
I have a 160g and its 4 months and mixed reef. I am constantly fighting to keep my PO4 up. My NO3 is always between 3 and 8. I only run skimmer few hours once a week. I have a Turf Scrubber i light opposite of tank lights and i have a roller mat. I also have not done a water change in over a month but i do dose All for Reefs and 2 part Alk and Cal.I feel like either the roller mat and or scrubber is bringing me to 0 on PO4. I noticed your scrubber was taken off and u dont have a roller mat. Maybe this is whats bringing me down to 0 PO4.
U need to adjust feeding to filtration ratio. Get rid of/turn of some of your filtration or feed more... Or both. Test often while u are adjusting and good luck!
Honestly acropora have a very wide range of suitable conditions and are not that hard. The real key to good growth and colour is .....STABILITY! My 0 water change system has coral colours that put most icp testors to shame. You are all overcomplicating things that can be achieved much easier and far far cheaper.
Funny listening to 2nd year apprentice telling the Grand Master he is "Doing it wrong" unless you have at least 10yrs experience.with sps then you a still merely a spectator in this game, and best keep your mouth shut and just listen and learn, TH-cam is full of rookies trying to give people advice already...
I want to see the Ozone setup on this tank please! I have a 400 gallon tank with a Geo Ozone reactor and a Poseidon ozone generator. I’d like to see how much flow you run in your reactor etc
There are so many ways they can do this and save a tone of money with the same or better results. They need to take a playbook from ACI aquaculture. They are just doing way too much, and that's not necessary. A business is to do things smarter, not harder, and waste money.
This is a hobby and everyone is doing it differently! If u have been there and seen his corals in person u will have a different opinion. Pretty sure ACI is doing something similar with trace elements as well.
@ReefUnderTheRoof like I said, some of the things you're doing are just not necessary. Chris keeps it simple, and I have been using his method for 2 years with crazy results. I'm just saying that in businesses, you want to save as much money as you can. And you are wasting money. But to each is own.
@@6jdhd which part is overwhelming for u? I think that Chris is using similar two part dosing, kalkwasser and minor elements dosing. Pretty sure he has calcium reactor in one of his systems as well.
@ReefUnderTheRoof He doesn't do any water changes. The trace elements he uses are cheap, and 1 drop treats 25 gallons. He doses saturated kalk at night. Yes, he has a calcium reactor. And he does dose potassium hydroxide only because he has 2000 gallon system. But that's it. He doesn't really worry about alk, only his ph. He keeps it at 8.2 to 8.3 day and night. That's all. As Chris says, you shouldn't be spending tone of money chasing parameters. Chase ph and save money and enjoy your tank.

@@opethmikeyou can go as deep as you want in his hobby. What he’s saying is legit. I’ve been reefing since 2005 and my system is complicated but I love it. This dude knows his stuff. To dose individual trace minerals one at a time and have em all memorized is next level
Thank you All4Reef.
The science part of the marine hobby is always mind blowing when you hear a hobbyist (not a professional) talking about it like a pro. 👍
Justin definitely knows a thing or two!😎✌️

If you don't regularly change water, how much saltwater do you replace every month from sales and shipping and stuff?

@ReefUnderTheRoof thanks for the quick response, but these acro has some of the thickest branches I've seen. Like 3/4" thick.

What funny is your Assuming. I've been in this hobby for 28 years. Yes, the tank is 2 years old, but that makes you think that. 🤔
