Pretty sure most people have covered the topic, but your carb could us a cleaning/rebuild or just a small amount of tuning. That’s why it has that slight stumble when u twist the throttle right back and it kinda bogs. The bike might be running rich as hell too, if u premix ur gas just run a little less oil. And check your spark plug, something this simple is commonly over looked.
I have a pw80 also, a dirty air filter will make it run like that,also check the air screw, back it off a little bit,this should help it run better.if you still have the bike.
What was that bogging/limiting that you hit halfway thru the rpms in third? When you held it for a second it pushed thru and cleared up, but mine does it and I can't figure out what the problem is
If you’re looking to really mod for speed and jumping, I’d start with a crf50/ crf70 or a 110..... as they have huge amounts of aftermarket performance mods for them. Such as big bore kits, and even a 4th gear upgrade. I have a stock crf50, and a crf50 with a big bore kit and both are a blast to ride. Being 4stroke the toque is instant with out waiting for the power band. But I also have a pretty stock Yamaha pw80 which is fun cause of the better suspension even thoo it’s stock... and who doesn’t luv the smell and sound of a two stroke

Kinda becomes more say a flat ground speedster. The best is finding a small shop that works on them or machine shop. If you explain to them what you’re trying to do or achieve, sometimes they become more interested in helping you, and going the extra mile to help you get there. My dads buddy had a shop and he had built plenty of my bikes before his passing. I grew up around him so he knew my passion and kinda krazy wild side. He bored out a few bikes of mine way over which some bikes didn’t even have kits made for that. He had enough knowledge to know what bikes were similar that he could make it work for what I was searching for. I’d buy the parts at his cost, but had to always buy him a 36pack of Budweiser, clean the shop and machines during the duration of the motor being built. He was a honest guy and kinda like an adopted uncle as he was my dads best friend. But I’ve always found smaller shops to be more helpful and go the extra mile. As some of the bigger shops kinda just wanna sell you something, get you in and get you out. Which is fine if your getting something normal or know exactly what ur looking for. But when it tends to be more custom or kinda out of the normal, they tend to not wanna deal with that. But that’s just my take and personal experiences with motor cycles.

That's it? With 3 gears?! My son's PW50 only went like 20mph at 1st. Had to take out the throttle limiter screw, and the restrictor plate in the exhaust, now it does 30... Maybe that pw80 has one or both of those?? Yz65 is WAY faster
My bike is a Baja motorsports dr49. It’s basically a pw80 clone but with a clone of a Honda 49cc engine and 4 speed semi auto trans. It’s a little beast. Soon I will test top speed and I bet it will go close to 50

i'm assuming yes it's a rev limiter or a dirty carburetor
@@bigtonkaa69 old carbureted 2 strokes don have lims, so it may need a valve adjustment, plug, or a jet cleaning.
