- Remembering Ustad Bismillah Khan on his birth anniversary. I am sharing an excerpt of his performance in front of Taj Mahal in the presence of music luminaries like O. P. Nayyar, Anil Biswas, Ustad Rashid Khan, Jagjit Singh, Girija Devi, Pt Ravi Shankar, Javed Akhtar etc.
Ustad Bismillah Khan is introduced by the eminent poet and scholar Ali Sardar Jaffri. Mr Jaffri talks about the unity between hindus and muslims; a very relevant message in today's turbulent times.

Ishwar eik hai aur Bismillah khan saheb bhi eik hi hai. Inki sabha mein sirf Devta hi aa sakte hain. Ye toh ishwar ka karam hai ke unhein dharti par hum sab ke liye bheij diye aur wo bhi mera mulk, mera watan, meri zameen Hindustan mein. Ai Allah, ai Ishwar tera lakh lakh shukr hai.
