Can you even field the soldiers who are marked in red as wounded after combat? I thought you could only deploy people who are injured (orange). Although, the people who are wounded will change to being counted as injured after some recovery time.
I did do a quick off-screen test, and it looks like they can be redeployed if we don't go back to base first. Though it does come with obvious risks, of course. :)
However a potential down check for this is that the unit stops if it sees an enemy unit so you could wind up with your trooper crouching in the middle of an open area. or as has happened to me numerous times just before they reach cover..;-(

That red snow is super intense on this map. Oh Jeez. I saw you turned a civi into a fine red mist. Maybe not put that into the afteraction.

Keyboard "C" for crouch
saves time, also if you hit "crouch" while unit is in motion it will crouch at movement end, just FYI
