  • here is my Pedestrian Signal setup, left to right, McCain 9" man/hand, Econolight 9" walk/don't walk, TCT 8" Signal with Eagle wait Walk lenses, Automatic Signal 12" housing with National Signal fiber optic man / hand insert, running on a used Cobalt that has some issues as it only runs in legacy mode not the animated mode

That fibre optic ped looks so cool. That's one blue walk sign if I've ever seen one! Awesome video!

Thanks! Yes the fiber optic one is my favorite, the blue walk one are you stating about the second ped? If you are I might have put a lighter led bulb in it, I will have to look but might be a 5k bright white giving that blueish tint

Sorry for the confusion, I meant the fibre optic one looks like it has a blue walking man!

@Gentrol no problem it actually has a tinted blue glass lens where the MR16 halogen bulb shines through it so it does have a blueish color

For those of you thinking that the fourth pedestrian light is LED, then that’s wrong. It’s actually incandescent fibre optic and you can tell by how the light changes.

I always thought the man symbol on those National Sign and Signal pedestrian units looked kind of weird. We still have them at one intersection in Brockton, MA.

    Incandescent hand/man, worded don't walk/walk, worded wait/walk, LED hand/man

Thanks! Yes I got it off ebay of course, it's supposed to have a fancy animated screen but this one has issues that's probably why it was sold as scrap to one of the surplus companies that sell on ebay

@@kenlacey6781 let me know if you need any software to update them. Our organization uses the Cobalt and I own 2 of them!

@TheTrafficTech cool! Yeah I was wondering if updating the software would fix the problem, maybe it got corrupted when I got it the date went back to 1970 so I thought it might of corrupted the file, it is a nice little controller, I would like to get the update and try it just to see if it fixes it

@@kenlacey6781 absolutely! The clock battery on some of these controllers may die over time but it only affects the time of day plan. Other features should work normally. I could walk you through how to restore it and either use the ASC3 software or upgrade to EOS.

@TheTrafficTech I did try and restore the database from the econolite database to the controller in the software on the unit and it didn't work so I am hoping the software update will correct it, you get the econolite tune and takes a couple of minutes to load but still just boots to legacy screen, I was looking on econolite website and saw the EOS is it better?
