Not watched your video yet am about to. my pro's are. 1) availble file storage for the house; 2) can put my own media collection into one place 3) not be dependant on the internet 4) can easily run my own services i.e Plex , mySql , web services , Cons, 1) initial cost of hardware - 2) up keep - had a Nas drive fail on me and had to replace it, 3) uses constant electricity 4) about 80% of my collection is available on streaming services which are probably similar in run cost especially if you factor in initial hardware and replacment cost. Cloud is getting more and more cheaper - yes you never own it and your dependant on the internet and a good connection, but starting to become more apealing.
@@Byteofgeek I have now great content, I failed to mention security which is a good point. also will take back what I said about the run cost of cloud storage - I checked and it's actually very expensive in comprison if your running large file systems >1TB.
