Chris’s probing questions combined with Alex’s no-nonsense insights create an electric synergy that keeps you hooked. You feel every minute of it. If you’re looking for profound perspective shifts and actionable advice wrapped in genuine conversation, this podcast is a must. It’s more than just talk-it’s a masterclass in leveling up.
Hi, when Hormozi says he now just says no to people or things if he doesn't want to do it. how do you think he would handle that thought in his own company if a more quailified person asks him to to something? I think if you going to practice something it needs to be tested in a difficult situation. My thinking is what the extent of use for this one and if it is not carried out doesn't that mean you are not authentic?
@@b_donoit’s more simple than that. If you have the ability to say no; and yet you choose to still say yes. You are not the one who owns your time. And if you don’t own your time, you own nothing.
Thoughts aren't true. Feelings don't require action. Things aren't good or bad, they just are. Our greatest enemy is ignorance. To change your life, change your surroundings. Our actions, not our past, define who we are.
Things aren’t good or bad? I agree there can be grey areas, but evil does exist and we can be objective about that. Some need to develop the courage to have principles
Recently broke up w my girlfriend (1.5 months ago), after doing a load of personal/emotional development work over the last 3 years, I've been able to come out of the relationships basically unscathed, untouched. Have had so much emotional power to focus on what matters to me, and avoid all disempowering feelings. Noticed that the world is constantly trying to reinforce you back into believing that you are "going through" some break up, or should be feeling bad in some way. Appreciate the two of you getting together and reinforcing my recent experience positively. Always happy to listen to the gladiators in the arena of today, Hormozi and Chris.
Totally agree with your labelling of Hormozi and Chris as "gladiators" of today. They don't get enough recognition for their wisdom and mastery of self and life. This is a knowledge orientated world - that's the price of ease; complexity.
LIST of 17 QUOTES Discussed in this Video 👇 0. “Hard things are hard, that’s why they’re hard” (0:00) 1. “The biggest risk to your future isn’t your competition, it’s the distractions you insist on keeping in your life rather than doing the things you know you should be doing but aren’t.” (0:06) 2. “Bad things don’t come in threes. Bad things happen, people don’t know how to cope, and they allow one bad thing to snowball into more. Bad stuff sucks, the only thing worse is letting one bad thing ruin many good things.” (09:09) 3. “Successful people see opportunity in every failure. Normal people see failure in every opportunity. Both are right, only one gets rich.” (13:18) 4. “You once wanted the life you have, and if you don’t like the life you have, you probably won’t like the one you want but don’t have either.” (23:52) 5. “We don’t rise to the standards we have when others are watching, we fall to the standards we have when no one is watching. The only work that really matters is the work that no one sees. It shows you who you really are rather than who you say you are.” (31:14) 6. “If you want revenge for the bad things that have happened in your life, start with the version of you that hasn’t lived up to your potential” (42:03) 7. “Everyone is jealous of what you’ve got, no one is jealous of how you got it” (46:47) - Jimmy Carr 8. “There’s a saying that if you do what you love you will never work a day in your life. At Apple, I learned that is a total croc. You will work harder than you ever thought possible but the tools will feel light in your hands” (53:43) - Tim Cook 9. “Why I hate being around negative people: Being an asshole is a weak person’s idea of strength. Complaining is their connection. Never let yourself be held back by other people’s fears. People criticize what they are afraid to do themselves because bold action reminds them of their own inaction. If you are afraid of being criticized, why do you care about the opinions of those who are too timid to do it themselves? If you are the criticizer: Does tearing down someone who has the courage you lack make you better?” (1:01:24) - Mark Manson 10. “Reminder for anyone internally debating weekend plans. If you don’t want to go, don’t go. If they care whether you go or not, they don’t care about you. If they care about you, they don’t care if you go or not. Just because you have free time, doesn’t mean anyone who asks for it is entitled to it” (1:08:07) 11. “Admit it. You aren’t like them. You’re not even close. You may occasionally dress yourself up as one of them, watch the same mindless television shows as they do, maybe even eat the same fast food sometimes. But it seems that the more you try to fit in, the more you feel like an outsider, watching the “normal people” as they go about their automatic existences. For every time you say club passwords like “Have a nice day” and “Weather’s awful today, eh?”, you yearn inside to say forbidden things like “Tell me something that makes you cry” or “What do you think deja vu is for?”. Face it, you even want to talk to that girl in the elevator. But what if that girl in the elevator (and the balding man who walks past your cubicle at work) are thinking the same thing? Who knows what you might learn from taking a chance on a conversation with a stranger? Everyone carries a piece of the puzzle. Nobody comes into your life by mere coincidence. Trust your instincts. Do the unexpected. Find the others…” (1:32:02) - Timothy Leary 12. “There’s no perfect way to live your 20s. You either live them up and become an underskilled 30-year-old, or you work them up and become an underlived 30-year-old. You just have to figure out which you’d rather be. Accept the tradeoff and know that there are no do-overs” (2:03:44) 13. “You really can solve a lot of male problems by getting in shape and making money. You still have problems they’re just smaller and you have more resources to handle them. The world is there for the taking for anyone who can learn from their mistakes, do what they say they were going to do, and stick with it even if it’s not sexy. What used to make a man acceptable now makes you extraordinary. The bar for winning has never been so low.” (2:16:53) 14. “How to avoid tons of problems in life: go to bed on time” (2:25:00) 15. “Having a clue is overrated. There’s this funny myth that people actually know what they’re doing. I’ve spent time around some of the richest, smartest, highest-status people on the planet, and let me tell you: It’s idiots all the way up. Normalize saying ‘I don’t have a clue, I’m going to work out how to do it anyway’.” (2:31:59) - Chris Williamson 16. “A lot of self-work can be summarized into: Thoughts aren’t true, feelings don’t require actions, things aren’t good or bad, they just are. Our greatest enemy is ignorance. To change your life, change your surroundings. Our actions, not our pasts, define who we are.” (2:34:28) 17. “I have led a toothless life. A toothless life. I have never bitten into anything. I was waiting. I was reserving myself for later on, and I have just noticed that my teeth have gone.” (2:55:36) - Jean-Paul Sartre Quick closing disclaimer: I've transcribed most of these quotes by hand, there might be a couple of errors as English is my strong second language. Most of the quotes that weren't directly associated with an author are either from Alex Hormozi, or an author I do not recognize. Cheers!
I have listened to this on Spotify, then watched it here on TH-cam, and I am probably going to watch it again tomorrow to write down each of these points as I hear them. Too many people make excuses for their lives being how their life is. I am tired of being that person. It's like the voice in our heads justifies inaction towards the direction of our goals these 24 listed items are methods of squashing our own ineptitude. I urge everyone, who wants to make positive changes in their life, to do the same. Much love, thank you Chris, you wonderful Brit. We Americans are lucky to have had you move here.
"If I can't trust your no, how can I trust your yes?" I personally think that simplistic phrase should be quoted. It's something that is sooo deeply rooted and overlooked. Please quote it Chris
My favorite episodes of yours are always with Alex. He’s wealthy, humble, compassionate, and philosophical. He’s like a jacked Buddha that decided to become a CEO and wear crocs lol
I so love that Alex Hormozi talked about the “Trajedies always come in threes” nonsense. When I hear someone say a version of this, and am tempted to weigh in, my Irish Grandmother’s words “A man convinced against his will, is of the same opinion still” remind me to save my breath.
I don't think taking the time to think should be taught half as hard as pushing the idea that just because there's a pause in a conversation, it needs to be filled with words. 100 times a day I'll listen to people double back on the things they said for emphasis... but no, bro, I heard you the first time. I just need to let my brain process with clarity what you just said. Teach listening first. Then teach how to speak.
I am relatively new to the realm of productivity and self help but already feeling at times I counterintuitively waste time on it losing the gains it has given me. Alex saying how many podcasts am i going to listen to before i change my behaviour was a real wake up call to me. We need to be reminded more than we need to be taught. I dislocated my shoulder in november last year when i was ice-skating. I saw my glycated hb and was worried I was close to pre diabetes. I got used to my new sedentary lifestyle for 2 weeks by modifying my diet. I have lost 12 lbs in 7 weeks and am close to my goal weight. I have other impending deadlines I need to meet in the coming month and feel like shit about them. I'm going to remind myself of ability to transform the shitty situation into a positive one. I'm sharing this because I want to come back to this comment in a couple of months and think I did it. This podcast was brilliant but to implement the brilliance of it I'm going to reduce the amount of podcasts I listen to and increase my inputs. I want to 7x my week and I am going to. Not in an hour, not tomorrow, not next week- im going to do it now! I'm going to print quotes from this podcast and stick them on my wall in my office . Then when I am reminded of how tough things are, this will on balance reminded me that I can use what i have to flip the situation and make it happen for me. Thank you so much Chris and Alex!
@@youngbahss3220 The result might be the same but the initial input are different. Jumping off a cliff and falling off a cliff are different situations that lead to the same outcomes.
This kind of things being free is the best thing about youtube. This legit feels like psychology session, but free. So many insights and new perspectives.
It’s fun around the 2 hours and 50 minutes mark listening to two super intelligent and talented people almost realizing it…… Is GOD fellas! We are also blessed to be able to listen to conversations like this!
I love this guy!! Not that hes smart and wealthy, but has this wisdom in him. He constantly seeks new ways of getting better in any area of life. He is a real man. Guys learn from and aspire to be like him.
A real man is just some neoliberal, performance-robot driven by a sheer urge to horde material wealth and inflate their egos through ruthless acquisition? If you say so…
"The way Alex defines words like behavior and intelligence is nothing short of breathtaking-it feels like a revelation that changes how you see the world. Chris, could you please create a video just centered on how Alex articulates these ideas? It was incredibly powerful and truly unforgettable."
I have listened to this podcast 5 times and each time I listen I get something new from it. You both are modern day sages and I can't believe that I'm looking up to younger men! One day I think I will transcribe it word for word and commit it to memory. These words I have written cannot describe how much I love this.
🧠My favourite resonating ideas in no specific order: Definitions: Learning: Same condition different behavior Intelligence: Speed, rate of learning Motivation: The equal opposite of deprivation, we are most motivated when we are deprived of something. SADNESS: the *perceived* lack of options Anxiety: many options but no priorities. Scattered but can’t decide. 1. We need to be reminded more than we are taught. Remind yourself of all the best productivity advice you learned, instead of consuming more of the same. 2. People are attracted to authenticity: true alignment of what you think, say, and do. The hardest part is realizing our thoughts are fucked, and we have to fix them instead of faking the next two. 3. The leading indicator of a succesful person is the ability to act without anything happening. 4. Being directionally correct is more important than having a perfect clear path. Often taking the first step illuminates the next. Bias towards action. 5. How to filter good from bad content: can they break it down to what actions you must take specifically? 6. Regarding learning definition: Every time you read, listen, or watch something, in order to learn, ask yourself: What behavior am I going to change based on this content? 7. Best framework for hard times: The bigger the dragon, the more epic the story, the more epic the hero 8. Hyper proponent of narrow single focus - extend time horizon for goals. Choose one !PRIORITY for that PERIOD of your life - instead of a scattered attempt at 10 projects with no output. 9. All you have to do to fix sadness is figure out what you need to do, and that is your option, figuring out what to do 10. How to avoid tons of problems in life: go to bed on time (Bedtime alarm) + swap your 3-5 most common meals with healthy ones = King of the world 11. NORMALIZE SAYING: “I don’t have a clue, but I am going to figure it out anyway!” 12. 95% of Self-work a. Feelings don't require action: Create a gap (TIME) between your impulse and behavior b. To change your life change your surroundings: Want to change x, y, z = compare yourself to succesful doers of x, y, z. 13. Ultimate hack for the ones who make content: Just tell the truth, you will make so unique content. Just say what you really think adds value. a. Don't be scared of saying your opinion
2:12:54 Sadness : is perceived lack of options, you don't know what options are available Anxiety: many options but ko priority, you feel scattered you can't decide
And he has that bad-ass cool 1980’s death metal look. I wish he would do the long horizontal curls in his hair and beard like a Persian warrior just before he severs the head of his Greek enemy.
The only reason someone could hate him is that they dislike how he lives his life, and see it has judgement on how they should live theirs (which he talks about in the episode as well)
@@ChrisWillx I cannot begin to imagine that it matters or helps in reality. It was more along the lines of just me trying in some small way to express my appreciation for what you’re doing. Thank you again very much.
This took me more than a week to digest. 2 sentences alone can be compacted with a day’s worth of knowledge. I have to watch this every month because I’m sure there are more gems in here that flew over my head 😮💨😮💨
This is my first time watching Alex. I was really struck by the length of his contemplative pauses before he speaks. I think most people would feel awkward pausing for that long, but after watching him I'm convinced that this only emphasizes the weight of the words he ultimately chooses. Also love his tone of voice when he speaks. It's soft, but it doesn't detract at all from his strong presence. You can tell he's as authentic as they come -- I will be watching more from him!
Just two jacked dudes talking philosophically. I love it. Thought - how many of the world views you both have here were shaped in part by getting and maintaining a great physiques? I'd argue a lot. The gym has so much to answer for. Thank you Chris and Alex
This anxiety from ambition is something I get as someone with multiple talents. I can never decide which thing I want to focus on. Being talented makes you see the potential that much more in each area. But also being talented makes you more lazy as you are unaccustomed to having to work hard to reach a certain level. It is definitely a double edged sword. People who don't have the talent and work hard to acquire that same level have an advantage because they are more likely to go beyond that level.
Alex has focused his channel on business. Thank you Chris for giving him a space where you both can discuss these topics that can apply to all aspects of life. You both have an impact well beyond what you could possibly imagine.
His definition of motivation was awesome and I think it makes even more sense when you add one more element. Motivation = hunger for something + a belief that this thing is attainable through intense action and that it won’t be attained without intense action. The belief aspect is why some poor people can be hungry without having motivation. They don’t believe that effort will make a difference. It is also why a football team stops being motivated once the score is so bad that they don’t think they can win. It is also why video games are so addicting, you know that beating every level is in fact possible.
I really needed message about distractions and decision making. Lately I've been overwhelmed with duties, house building, young son, work... It was just too much and so I've been delaying things. Thank you.
"Enjoy the life you have" is especially thought provoking for me. I keep praying on my knees for every next thing and when I finally get it, it's worthless to me within 2 months, in fact I end up resenting it and praying for the next thing.
Alex has some wonder advice, but I am astound of how he views life, questions even the most common thing and goes as far as trying to explain in it (in his own business mentality of course) that mindset truly is something to look up to.
1:56 The distance we can shrink between thinking of doing something, and it being done 6:00 figure out the input that gives you the output you want, and do it continuously 9:59 Bad things happen all the time, they only become interrelated if you let them affect your behavior 12:07 The more times you do, what is required to get what you want, the more times you get what you want 13:50 All conditions of reality are painful, so if pain is a prerequisite for reality, it becomes irrelevant 14:50 Feeling bad has zero correlation to your performance in the gym 23:53 You once wanted the life you have, if you don't feel great right now, it's probably not because of the life Your wants today won't have much of an effect on your happiness 27:28 Hard work is the goal. The only real output we have is who we become along the way 28:59 The best days of my life were ones I had nothing left in the tank. (watch until 31:15) 36:15 be okay with saying no 42:13 Wherever you point the finger of blame, power follows
It was the first podcast I’ve truly studied and applied to my life. It took me 3.5 weeks to go through every chapter and jot down notes, but I’ve gained more from these 3 hours than from listening to 30 different podcasts as mere infotainment while multitasking.
Something to be mindful of with these motivational podcasts, it can make you feel like you accomplished something just from listening. For every part of listening/consuming content, there should be AT LEAST two parts action.
"..We revel in our sufferings, for suffering produces perseverance, perseverance character, and character Hope and Hope does not disappoint. Suffering and pain is the best teacher known. So, start learning people and you'll be grateful and happy.
I am a 18 year old trying to live life and improve my self and I know I will watch each of your videos with alex every year because there are so many hidden jems
So many groundbreaking ideas & concepts that I’ve turned a 3 hour pod into a 10 hour pod with amount of times I have to pause to digest what was just said
@18:24 What I tell myself, my colleagues, students, mentees, friends, etc. is that anxiety and excitement are biochemically essentially the same and what is more important is our interpretation and how we frame it in our mind.
Alex is definitely my favorite guest. He throws so many bombs every time. Thank you Chris for these moments and for not giving up when your podcast made no views.
The part about getting a dog is spot on. And I think both Chris and Alex are correct. Hear me out.. When you’re in your "push" time/years, I agree with Alex. no dog. You need as much freedom as possible in your calendar to GET THINGS DONE. However, when it’s time to structure your days, do less and spend more time with yourself/outside, Chris is right. Get a dog. I would have not been able to get through the last 5-8 years with a dog. However, now is the right time for me. And we got one 10 days ago. It was the best decision we’ve made ❤
-- Don't ritualize, don't wait for the right moment. Just act, more times you do, more better you get at that -- Nothing changes nothing changes -- Work your hardest, don't just work hard to beat others -- Focus on outcomes, just unblock the next thing -- One thing goes haywire, move on to next one don't let one bad things ruin others -- True character is when no one watching -- Authenticity, what you thought -- what you say --- what you do -- Power is what you thing should happen and what actually happens, the distance between them is less --- Hard things are pain full, just do it --- Be okay with saying no --- doing it with or without the motivation and act without anything happening -- Just walk, it illuminates the next step -- initially short term goal -- intensity, long term -- consistency -- Everything boils down to skills, pick skills to get better at anything, operationalise it. -- Break everything down to behaviours -- think by first principle, break down everything to basics -- we mediate our experiences through language -- same condition, different behaviours. Intelligence is rate of learning -- Be yourself -- Amazing things happens after bad things -- Tail drives everything, only 1 works out of 10, duh! -- Not quitting is the best skill -- Journaling your story would be useful in hard times -- the bigger the dragon, the bigger the story and bigger the hero -- Hope is good, it will keep you gets going -- People says it must be nice or genetic or luck, because they want to shorten the distance them and your success. They don't want to label it as hard work, because then they need to work hard -- No victimhood mindset -- Do everything in periods -- decade of hard work, years of enjoyment -- work life balance should not be calculated per day -- Good things aren't good as they seem, bad things aren't bad as they seem -- Sadness is perceived lack of options and anxiety is too many options and no prioritisation -- narrow things, General ambition gives you anxiety and specific ambition gives you direction which leads to specific actions -- It is never been more easier to get success but also never been easier to do nothing -- take full accountability and responsibility -- Having a clue is overrated, just do it. To change your life, change your surrounding -- Number one correlate to how much success you will get Is your reference group, who you compares yourself with -- If you can't go around folks better than you, Ok :0, no one has worst condition than you, no one has made it till yet. Shut the fuck up! -- Being able to make demand for what you need is a 'SKILL' -- Take time to act before feeling -- things were good or bad We won't know until we die and after dying it doesn't matter, so they just are. -- Victims see their past as fate, and champions see their past as origin story -- Past doesn't exist! It only matters if you make it matter -- It never gets easier, you become accustomed to it -- Be here right now, figure it out
The moment Alex discussed the concept of love as a transaction within his relationship with Leia was absolutely fascinating. As a woman, I find this perspective logical and thought-provoking, offering a refreshing take on how partnerships can function.
I am the hero of my own story, facing each challenge with courage and curiosity, and embracing discomfort as the true sign of growth. I commit to acting in private the way I want to be in public, knowing that real integrity is built when no one is watching. I trust my ability to figure things out, not fearing criticism or doubt because I know they are just distractions from those who lack the courage to take action. I am here to live boldly and authentically, to make mistakes, and to learn from them, remembering always not to take life too seriously-because in the end, we’re all just passing through. Each day, I choose direction over perfection, and I lean into uncertainty, knowing that even the smallest step forward will illuminate the next. I focus on outcomes, not on fears, understanding that what I fear doing most is often exactly what I most need to do. With a clear mind, I align my actions with my values, building a life of purpose, progress, and joy.
Felt like awakening many times. Like real awakening.. Thanks. Looking forward to work as hard as I can and deeming myself successful after I zeroed the tank.
the "why I hate being around negative people" ... that quote, statement, idea - blood brill! bloody brill = bloody brilliant... my biochme professor used that expression alllll the time and it always made my day just to clarify
It may seem unrelated, but learning golf the last few months has really reinforced how you need to put in the reps if you want success. Can't just sit around and hope to get better at golf. Gotta hit 1000's and 1000's of balls and put in the work. Same for being successful at anything. Sure, there's luck; but it's far better to make your own luck by taking action rather than sit around hoping to get lucky.

Found Mr.Alex a year ago
Found Mr.Chris at that time as well,
Been hustling to become the better version of myself alone.
Been showing and sharing news about these two with my mom.
A Month ago she passed away and left us.
I was at work hustling, Listening to Mr. Alex
Now today I'm still hustling
it's 11:25am
I just sat down to work alone
Saw this and clicked.
To everyone who is hustling,
You will win.
IT DOESN'T GET BETTER,
YOU DO.
Keep being you

Oh boy, listening 3 hours to this podcast, and wow-this one hit different. It’s a rare blend of wisdom and raw truth, where two brilliant minds dive deep into life, business, and the human condition.
Exactly
Hi, when Hormozi says he now just says no to people or things if he doesn't want to do it. how do you think he would handle that thought in his own company if a more quailified person asks him to to something? I think if you going to practice something it needs to be tested in a difficult situation. My thinking is what the extent of use for this one and if it is not carried out doesn't that mean you are not authentic?
@@b_donoit’s more simple than that. If you have the ability to say no; and yet you choose to still say yes. You are not the one who owns your time. And if you don’t own your time, you own nothing.
Totally agree. Your wording is delicious.
Couldn´t have said it better
Thoughts aren't true. Feelings don't require action. Things aren't good or bad, they just are. Our greatest enemy is ignorance. To change your life, change your surroundings. Our actions, not our past, define who we are.

I say the same thing lol. Thoughts are thoughts - but they aren’t us. Our primary enemy is heedlessness and secondary enemy is laziness.
You think our actions define us
❤

1. “The biggest risk to your future isn’t your competition, it’s the distractions you insist on keeping in your life rather than doing the things you know you should be doing but aren’t.” (0:06)
2. “Bad things don’t come in threes. Bad things happen, people don’t know how to cope, and they allow one bad thing to snowball into more. Bad stuff sucks, the only thing worse is letting one bad thing ruin many good things.” (09:09)
3. “Successful people see opportunity in every failure. Normal people see failure in every opportunity. Both are right, only one gets rich.” (13:18)

5. “We don’t rise to the standards we have when others are watching, we fall to the standards we have when no one is watching. The only work that really matters is the work that no one sees. It shows you who you really are rather than who you say you are.” (31:14)
6. “If you want revenge for the bad things that have happened in your life, start with the version of you that hasn’t lived up to your potential” (42:03)
7. “Everyone is jealous of what you’ve got, no one is jealous of how you got it” (46:47) - Jimmy Carr
8. “There’s a saying that if you do what you love you will never work a day in your life. At Apple, I learned that is a total croc. You will work harder than you ever thought possible but the tools will feel light in your hands” (53:43) - Tim Cook
9. If you are the criticizer: Does tearing down someone who has the courage you lack make you better?” (1:01:24) - Mark Manson
10. “Reminder for anyone internally debating weekend plans. If you don’t want to go, don’t go. If they care whether you go or not, they don’t care about you. If they care about you, they don’t care if you go or not. Just because you have free time, doesn’t mean anyone who asks for it is entitled to it” (1:08:07)
11. Find the others…” (1:32:02) - Timothy Leary
12. “There’s no perfect way to live your 20s. You either live them up and become an underskilled 30-year-old, or you work them up and become an underlived 30-year-old. You just have to figure out which you’d rather be. Accept the tradeoff and know that there are no do-overs” (2:03:44)
13. The bar for winning has never been so low.” (2:16:53)
14. “How to avoid tons of problems in life: go to bed on time” (2:25:00)
15. “Having a clue is overrated. There’s this funny myth that people actually know what they’re doing. I’ve spent time around some of the richest, smartest, highest-status people on the planet, and let me tell you: It’s idiots all the way up. Normalize saying ‘I don’t have a clue, I’m going to work out how to do it anyway’.” (2:31:59) - Chris Williamson
16. “A lot of self-work can be summarized into: Thoughts aren’t true, feelings don’t require actions, things aren’t good or bad, they just are. Our greatest enemy is ignorance. To change your life, change your surroundings. Our actions, not our pasts, define who we are.” (2:34:28)
17. “I have led a toothless life. A toothless life. I have never bitten into anything. I was waiting. I was reserving myself for later on, and I have just noticed that my teeth have gone.” (2:55:36) - Jean-Paul Sartre

I so love that Alex Hormozi talked about the “Trajedies always come in threes” nonsense. When I hear someone say a version of this, and am tempted to weigh in, my Irish Grandmother’s words “A man convinced against his will, is of the same opinion still” remind me to save my breath.
Straight away Alex pausing before he speaks.. more people need to think like this before speaking 🔥
I noticed this too. I kept thinking there was an add cuing up or something. He’s not in a hurry to get his message across.
Editing video is easier this way 😄
I don't think taking the time to think should be taught half as hard as pushing the idea that just because there's a pause in a conversation, it needs to be filled with words. 100 times a day I'll listen to people double back on the things they said for emphasis... but no, bro, I heard you the first time. I just need to let my brain process with clarity what you just said.
Teach listening first. Then teach how to speak.
This is a gold mine. Time stamp the key principals and come back to this everyday don’t miss a day until you’re paid

🧠My favourite resonating ideas in no specific order:
Definitions:
Learning: Same condition different behavior
Intelligence: Speed, rate of learning
Motivation: The equal opposite of deprivation, we are most motivated when we are deprived of something.
SADNESS: the *perceived* lack of options
Anxiety: many options but no priorities.
7. Best framework for hard times: The bigger the dragon, the more epic the story, the more epic the hero
8. Hyper proponent of narrow single focus - extend time horizon for goals. Choose one !PRIORITY for that PERIOD of your life - instead of a scattered attempt at 10 projects with no output.
9. All you have to do to fix sadness is figure out what you need to do, and that is your option, figuring out what to do
10. How to avoid tons of problems in life: go to bed on time (Bedtime alarm) + swap your 3-5 most common meals with healthy ones = King of the world
11. NORMALIZE SAYING: “I don’t have a clue, but I am going to figure it out anyway!”
12. 95% of Self-work
a. Feelings don't require action: Create a gap (TIME) between your impulse and behavior
Thank u!
Thanks man

This is my first time watching Alex. I was really struck by the length of his contemplative pauses before he speaks. I think most people would feel awkward pausing for that long, but after watching him I'm convinced that this only emphasizes the weight of the words he ultimately chooses. Also love his tone of voice when he speaks. It's soft, but it doesn't detract at all from his strong presence. You can tell he's as authentic as they come -- I will be watching more from him!

I agree with you 💯!
This conversation is just brilliant. Alex Hormozi truly figured out the game of life.
I really needed message about distractions and decision making. Lately I've been overwhelmed with duties, house building, young son, work... It was just too much and so I've been delaying things. Thank you.
I have watched all episodes ft. Hormozi. It never fail to get me out of a low point. Incredible!
"Enjoy the life you have" is especially thought provoking for me. I keep praying on my knees for every next thing and when I finally get it, it's worthless to me within 2 months, in fact I end up resenting it and praying for the next thing.
Honestly Chris is the most underrated podcaster
Alex has some wonder advice, but I am astound of how he views life, questions even the most common thing and goes as far as trying to explain in it (in his own business mentality of course) that mindset truly is something to look up to.

They're back. Hormozi spitting facts again. Loved the quote "The magic you're looking for is in the work you're avoiding." Much love Chris. ❤
Working open to goal is the purest form of discipline applied to inputs. Emotions become completely irrelevant

@@jaywon06 That's true too. Thank goodness for smart phones and tripods! Can get much more effective practice these days.
I've watched a number of these "how to be successful" videos, and this is by far the most informative I've watched. Great job, Chris and Alex.
Alex should just make a coffee table book of all the hard truths he has thought of!
Perfect to listen to while picking back up on marathon training and feeling low on „motivation” after a month off thank you
