I dont think many people actually realise what goes into simply "swapping a DCT" and expecting OEM drivability. Having done a standalone DCT swap on our E36 LS1, I still have nightmares and PTSD flashbacks. 2 years later we threw in the towel. Glad you kept going , the result is a one of a kind machine(and experience). Keep at it lads
It's impressive engineering adding the dct logic to the V10s MSS65 ecu and making it all work. Congratulations, sound like you're a few cooling mods away to getting it all dailed.
I salute y'all for actually getting it right , from South Africa here , when you first tried the dct conversion to your v10 my brothers and I was inspired and thought we'd give it a shot ended up swooping my m6 with my dads M5 cause his aircon condensation dripped over the Solonoid controls on the smg gearbox so with the cash difference he gave and the wrecked e92 we started our project that you inspired , but Füćķ what a difficult project , dump the car one side and tried again a year later ended up purchasing a htg another fuck up , stripped everthing out and went with maxxecu, to my dismay I watched your first video when you said we going dct with the M6 but incorporating the oem ecu's to make it work only to bust my bubble once again , cause what you guys did with the oem dme's that's a road I don't wanna travel , so how far you got I'm happy someone got it right and didn't give up , stay strong and I wish all the best for you guys , hopefully one day I'll get the courage and pull my car out the grave yard and give it an attempt again ,
The m6 does look unsuspicious at first, but it blows my mind how much engineering and knowlegde has been used to makes this the package it is. It really is something special. Keep up the good work! Looking forward to the christmas special ✌🏻
This video is seriously good, camera crew doing an awesome job! Obviously the whole DCT thing is insane on its own as well of course but man what a nice video!
I have a 2008 E60 M5 SMG with the Euro SMG tune, running a 3.91 rear drive ratio, the motor is a bespoke 5.8L stroker, the SMG has been refreshed, this set up does not lend itself to a manual transmission, the SMG is a lot of fun to drive, having said that, if someone came up with a plug and play DCT upgrade I’d definitely give it a serious look…
@@SmartFirstPrincipleThinking you’re 100% right. The way these cars drive and how the engines need to keep pulling don’t lend to manual transmissions. 3.91 with a big stroker sounds crazy too my man.
A electronic belt cooler pump in the trunk for trans cooler and mate it with a large cooler under trunk but maybe try a different exhaust like a single exit

Can you move the Cats further back so you get the clearance for the cooler lines and move the heat toward the rear of the chassis

Go on then, what was the actual MPG/range after the DCT swap? I got 280 miles to a tank on the way back from the Nurburgring last month.
I’m pretty sure it was doing 200 to a tank
It was showing around 220 on fill ups but real world 180-190 miles before actually having to stop. That’s motorway driving too.

I don't like cruising in my dct. gear ratio. I can't get a lower rpm unless I drive severely under the speed limit.
