Absolutely amazing! Actually the bit that you have before the runs is also stunning work - it really breathes! Then the fast runs with all the filigree around it is amazing
Thanks very much, there’s a lot going on in that tempo line at the top haha. Really nice orchestration for this melody as well (ww/celeste plus quiet horns down an octave)
@simonpassmore This sound incredible. I have no words. May i kindly ask how You achived such realistic performance of this runs using only CSS ? Any tips or tricks? Which patch You use here? By the way do You think V series is better than Infinie. Im asking because i already have Infinite brass and ww but i heard so many opinions that v series is better especially winds. Greetings from poland
Wow, really stunning! Tbh, I changed my entire string template from CSS to Pacific, but the Marcato Patch from CSS is still in there because it produces runs like no other library I encountered.
Thanks! I’ve heard really good things about Pacific. I’ve only ever worked with CSS (and a bit of Vista), would love to try loads of string libraries but they’re all so expensive… haha. Ps - Marcato is only 1 of the 3 patches used for these crazy runs :)
HI! Your channel is so useful for me. I just found it and I've been going through all your midi programming vids 1 by 1. I had a couple questions. How do you like the layered sound of CSW and Vwinds? Do you do this often? Are you layering them together during all woodwind parts or just some? Besides the CSS marcato (w/ no spiccato) trick, what other articulations are you doing to get this effect? Is this answered somewhere in your buy a coffee? I just signed up :D
Really pleased to hear it’s useful! I love using CSW & VWinds for any multi-part woodwind stuff - for any slow expressive sounds I swap between them both, CSW has more recorded legato transitions to offer but VWinds has the totally customisable vibrato, so different strengths for different situations. With a bit of EQing and reverb they work really nicely together. CSS here, there’s a legato patch in a folder within the library (I think it’s called “classic legato”) - I use that one for any blurry fast scales like this, probably combined with the marcato patch (without repetition overlay) and also the bow change trick which should be visible on my coffee page :)
@@simonpassmore Just went through the stuff on buy a coffee. Really useful stuff! Super useful. Is there any way I could pay you for like a 30m-1h consult some time between now and December 7th? I know it's last minute, but I'm getting my template mixed on the 7th and was hoping you could help me setup a runs patch in the template with CSS before then. Thanks either way! If you want to connect, just tell me how to contact you and I'll reach out. Thanks!
I honestly have nothing I could say, it's crazy how accurate your arrangements are Any chance you could do a little thing by Beethoven? His 7th symphony is amazing, if possible Just a thought (:

I had pacific and had to ditch it. The out of control portamentos just ruins it all for me. Really shame.
@@simonpassmore wow what are the other 2 patches?
