I find it I interesting that you need to reset the time clock every time you reconnect the battery. In my case, that would be everyday as I recharge mine inside and park the bike in an unheated garage.

Hello... TFT and Sunlight Readable TFT are vastly different in terms of not washing out in Full Sunlight.. (the place we need to be able to get info from). When is Bafang going to offer a display that doesn't washout in the sun..? I have no problem seeing the 961c and 965c... but i need Speed indicator, Wattage consumption, and Volts.. When you are trying to optimize range, you need to find that perfect spot between Power level and Gear Ratio.. But unless you can see the watts, it is nearly impossible to fine tune the bike for range. Can you get a hold of Bafang and let them know that they need to make a "Sunlight Readable TFT" display.. Not TFT alone.. ? TFT is TransFlecTive screen... Sunlight Readable TFT polarize the sunlight hitting the screen so that you can see it. :)
BTW, Ebike enthousiest have money to spend.. And we don't want to waste money trying models that don't work in most Ebike environments. I'm ready to spend a little more for sight.
I agree that most ebike displays are hard to see in direct sun. The DPC18 is easily readable in direct sun. (Its backlight is also adjustable.) At full intensity, it is more vivid than my tablet or Samsung phone. The Watt meter is large & visible at a glance. (I wish the battery & trip data were half that big!)

in this display, for Wheel Settings they want inches, where is this measurement, derived? No info on rims or tires do I measure the circumference? it's like 86 inches! I just love stupid Q"s
If you have a simple +/- two-pin connector, there is no way to receive this information from the batteries BMS. Having just +/- and no data link is one of the advantages and reasons I decided to buy Bafang motor. I can use whatever battery, cheap and easy - no weird error codes which can stop operation.

How do u change the timeout, when the display auto turns the bike off. It is way to short a d very annoying to have to keep restarting it after short breaks
Well I can tell you that this display will not work with the bbshd motor. I think it's very frustrating that suppliers of bafang motors do not tell you this. You will be limited to around 45kph and will only have 5 levels of pedal assistance. If I paid for a motor that is meant to have 9 levels and able to do close to 100 kph I want that. Bafang I don't believe are at fault rather than the suppliers like I said are.
Heya, does anyone know if there is a setting to change the massive performance drop once the battery hits 20%. I'd rather the 'battery save mode' kick in at 10% batt life. Being in a hilly area I have to charge the battery back up each time it drops to 20%. Much appreciated

Nah, unlike many ebike displays, the DPC18 is highly visible even in direct sun. It's even more vivid than my tablet or Samsung phone. (Though much lower res, & lower refresh rate.) The Wattage indicator is very prominent, easy to read at a glance. I wish the battery indicator were as large!

It is a shame it does not have a brake symbol, wich ligts up when hydraulic handbrakes ar aplied, so motorpower is cut, so you can adjust the hydraulic brakesensors easily
@PaPa Frampton Bafang motor controllers are notorious for shipping with no config done. In particular, their torque sensing motors such as the Ultra m620, _aren't calibrated_ to provide accurate torque sensing. The "default config" leaves the sensor's Base Voltage set to 0, which is _NEVER_ correct. At 0 mV Base Voltage, any pedal rotation at all registers as ~12Kg of pedal force! Accurate baselines, range from 732 to 763 milliVolts. For Bafang motors _without_ torque sensing, the only control variables are pedal cadence & throttle. Throttle is smoothest when set to Current rather than Speed scaling mode. Pedal Assist requires calibration of KeepCurrent, Decay rate, & Decay time, to maintain steady assist. Setting the Slow-Start Mode to 7 helps reduce jerk when the motor engages.

i have a similar question. how does the controller know exactly where the speed sensor/magnet are located. i installed a conversion kit so the location of these isn't fixed
@@richb7524 Im presuming you are referring to how close/far from the center hub the magnet is set. If that the variable you are referring to its quite simple. It doesn't matter. The magnet has to complete a revolution and if its near or far its still one revolution of the wheels diameter.

This means that your display is one that received a firmware update from Bafang and it has locked out access to the Eco/Sport settings. Holding the + button down will not work, no matter how long you hold it down. The other concern is that the wheel size and speed limit are not able to change, either. I was told Bafang pushed this firmware update to its newer DPC-18 displays without even telling the retailers they did it. Bad Bafang! My advice to you is to contact your retailer and ask them to send you another display - one without the firmware update. That is what I have done because I'm in the same boat as you are. Other than that issue, this is a great display with beautiful colors and easy to use input pad. What brand of ebike do you have?

As long as the display and battery are labeled as 52 volt. All or most batteries are of higher voltage than stated when fully charged
Why is there no RANGE choice when you cycle through options? Other videos show this option with this display.

My display is version DPC18.C 1.3 and my speed limit & wheel size are grayed out, so I can't change it...

What motor are you using? Some controllers will not work with certain motors.

Just set “MAX PAS” to 9 in settings, and it will work. I did the same

Speed Limit dont work for me, I have set 25kmh but the bike still goes over 40kmh, can someone say why?
The bike can go as FAST as you can padle bud the motor will push for you only till 25 km/h is reached

You need a bafang programming cable to connect to the batteries BMS to do that.
What about that clock on the display. Will it remember ghe time if battery is disconnected?
Mine does; the trip data is retained, too. (There is probably a CR2032 battery in there.)

Yes. You will need hydraulic brake sensors from Bafang. They mount to your brake handles.

No you cant use it with 52volt 30amp pack, battery when it fully charges and you turn the display on it throws code 7 and disables the motor

Apparently some came with different software on them. If yours has Sport/Eco mode, you are locked at 5 and cant change Max PAS
