- Been away a long time, and haven't played much lately. Here is my guitar cover of XX (City Grave) by Silent Planet. Hope the video is enjoyable. Learned by ear. Excuse my cat.

Probably my best advice is don't burn yourself out haha. If you're having a day where you sound like shit (I have heaps) put the guitar down and do something else for a while. If you're not feeling like it's fun anymore then have a break too.
Then, when I'm actually enjoying it, I just set little goals for myself, like "I want to transcribe this song", "I want to learn this solo", "I want to write my own solo", "I want to get better at this (technique)" etc. I've always found myself happier when I've just focused on improving myself and doing my own thing. Try not to compare yourself with other people, just have fun.
Nothing special motivates me to play guitar, I just love music and I love instruments. :)

Any tips on what's the most efficient way to get difficult riffs up to speed? Cheers.
The only way, practice at lower speeds and work up! Or just practice.
may I just ask, how did you start learning songs by ear? I just can't seem to do it. thank you
Just start with easy songs and work up to harder ones. There are a bunch of little tricks you can use to better hear the guitars. Try slowing it down or play with the levels a little bit. I find wearing headphones always helps.

AnotherMondayMusic Haha man I deleted some and maybe 2 or 3 got blocked completely! To be honest I'm a little bit of a perfectionist and didn't want to keep it up here anymore. I know people liked it a lot but personally I disliked it. I hope you like my other covers though cuzzy brah.

Hey bro do you mind me asking what happened with your hands? I've been really dedicated lately but I'm scared I might be developing tendinitis or carpel tunnel and I'm scared it might hinder my progress. What should I do?
MiltonBurnsRed I had a job that fucked my hands up and they became soft and tender and the skin would peel off at ease. Still affects me a little bit these days and to add onto that I broke my hand last month. But I'm living overseas for a little while so I don't have the chance to play anyway. I'm getting more into vocals as I can practice whenever and wherever!
