    This is the best whipped butter video I think... I ordered some raw unrefined cocoa and shea butter to make my own moisturizer. I also have olive oil, coconut oil, vitamin E, aloe, and almond oil. So I will be following this recipe, but equal amounts with the oils I have. I really did NOT like how all the other videos were melting the butters. They say if you melt them, you lose some properties of the butters... Well ok, they say keeping it on a low heat greatly reduces this. But honestly, I don't want to lose anything! lol. I want it to keep as much of the natural properties as possible. I understand these butters are MADE through a cooking process. But still. The more you cook them, the more you lose. That much I agree with.

      +melissavalentine569 Thanks! I avoid heat as much as possible as well. :)

      You won't lose anything if you dip the bottle in warm water to naturally melt the oil. you don't lose any properties melting Or Softening Oils + butters. Warmth of Warm water is not enough heat to kill anything. As long as you don't warm Or heat it up over Fire to a boiling point like some people do using stove, Slow Cooker ...etc.
      The worst thing a person can do is put it in the microwave I've seen people melt in the microwave that's zapping away all beneficial _(& medicinal)_ properties.

    Two things, make that three... I love the video and the no heat is so much better because it does separate over time, thank for sharing. Next; palm oil is added to make yellow Shea butter, Shea butter is Ivory. And last; if you use a whisk on your mixer, you can get more air in and make it even more fluffy in less the time.

    • @felinefokus
      @felinefokus 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      M'Lady Lisa Yeah but this video is *#9yrsOld* so considering that, she did well! & it's all about using what you readily have on hand. Time evolves and new ways are implicated so some want 2 feel like they have evolved by using a whisk or other new machinery.
      Although, in actuality it's all about preference. You can get the same if not better results by using the old methods & tools.
      the love & hard work you put into it makes it gr8 not expensive newly made tools

    I’ve started making Shea butter for my skin (not my hair )
    I don’t like melting it . I tried doing that method (melting it ) and put it in the fridge before I mixed it and it became way too hard... so I’m try it now not heated . The oils that suit my skin cause I have (ezcema ) are Argan and Rosehip and Wheatgerm
    Oil 👍I like Rose oil for my essential oil Thanks for your vid 😉👍

    Can you help me with what I should do as the cocoa butter pieces stayed somewhat grainy. I chopped them as fine as I could get them, they looked like what it appeared yours looked like............thanks for any help you can offer and thanks so much for your wonderful recipe and instructions :)

    • @CaliNaatural
      @CaliNaatural  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Katie L I'm so glad you liked the recipe! :) As for the cocoa butter... mines blended when I mixed with a hand mixer, but what I would suggest you do next time is blend the cocoa butter with the almond oil & jbco before blending the additional ingredients. This should make for a creamy consistency... then continue on with additional steps. And if you don't mind it not being raw just pop the cocoa butter in the microwave for 10 seconds at a time until softened. Hope this helps. :)

    Thanks so much for this video. I have couple of questions. Kindly answer. I have wavy/straight hair. Can I use this?. I see only curly haired people talking about it. Also, when can I use it?. Is it at night?. Should I wash it off then or just leave it in my hair?. Can I use it often like say 4 times a week?. Kindly reply. Thank you. Your mix looks amazing!

    • @CaliNaatural
      @CaliNaatural  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey.. thanks so much for watching! To answer your questions... shea butter is a heavy butter and may weigh down your wavy/straight hair. If you wanted to use a shea butter mix you would have to use very little so it won't make your hair feel "heavy". I would not suggest you using more than 2 times a week to seal in moisture and no this mix does not have to be washed out. Another way you can use it is on your skin... it's a great moisturizer for your body as well. Hope this helps. :)

    hey, is this ok for skin? baby skin? would it help with stretch marks?

    • @CaliNaatural
      @CaliNaatural  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes it's great for skin. It's natural but a baby's skin is very sensitive so I wouldn't use on a baby. And yes it's great for stretch marks as well.

    • @CaliNaatural
      @CaliNaatural  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use bees wax for my lip balms and lotions but not for my hair. Beeswax has the tendency to coat your hair and not allow moisture in, but it all depends on what your hair likes.

    what's the difference between using heat and no heat?

    • @CaliNaatural
      @CaliNaatural  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      By keeping your oils raw you are keeping all the nutrients and benefits at their highest level... but heating the oils you can “cook” the nutrients out.

      @@CaliNaatural thanks. I did watch that video. I like the whipped butters better than lotion. can I just mix some raw cocoa butter with shea butter like in this video? or do I need to add other stuff?

    • @CaliNaatural
      @CaliNaatural  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would add at least one oil so the texture could be creamy. But you can use just the butters it would just be more “gritty” then smooth.

    • @gsr4079
      @gsr4079 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CaliNaatural thanks. yeah I would add two tablespoons each of coconut/castor/jojoba oils to the mix. probably more than two tablespoons of the coconut oil - love that one. love your videos too. you seem like such a nice an authentic young lady. I was trying to catch if that's a wedding ring in some of your videos. ;)

    Would this be good for oily skin??

    • @CaliNaatural
      @CaliNaatural  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question... because of all of the moisturizing oils inside this mixture I might not use for oily skin. If you were to use something Oil based I would recommend oils like Jojoba oil or Geranium essential oil. Hope this helps 😁

    Do I wash it out after I've applied the mixture or do I leave it in?

    • @CaliNaatural

      This is a leave in moisturizer. The Shea butter mix should melt into your hair and act as an oil based moisturizer.
