    I recently bought a box of fruit flavor oils and a some more different flavors from Amazon that will arrive today. I just started using body srubs and the first one I made was a brown sugar. I also ordered shea butter, but I made the mistake of adding arrow root powder and it came out crumbles. this recipe looks great gonna try to make this today. I also ordered different colors of mica powder to add color to my butters and srubs .looks delicious 😊😊. ❤thanks

The benefits include vitamin E, zinc, omega 3- and 6- fatty acids, its moisturizing, cell regenerating, acne fighting...so much more! It's great for all skin, but especially for black and brown skin! So excited to try these diy products! 1 question though. Does the whipped shea butter mixture have a scent to it? And if not what can I use to give it a nice scent?

    • @sinkits
      @sinkits 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unrefined shea butter tends to smell a bit nutty. A lot of people don't like the scent, but it's up to personal taste. You can use any essential oil that you like the smell of e.g. peppermint oil, rosemary oil, sweet orange oil to name a few. But just so you know, an essential oil is way more potent and concentrated than carrier oils like olive oil, coconut oil, avocado oil. You need maybe 5-10 drops of an essesntial oil for the amount of shea butter she made in the video. I would suggest making the shea butter mixture, taking a small sample of it in a separate container and adding a drop or two of essential oil to it to see if the scents work together. Be careful not to go overboard on the scents though, speaking from personal experience it tends to ruin the whole bath when you add too much of the wrong scent to it! :) Good luck with making these recipes, I hope it all goes well!

    Hi! Thanks for sharing your recipes! Does the shea butter stay in the whipped consistency or does it get more solid as it sits? Mine became more solid.

    • @CookingWithCarolyn
      @CookingWithCarolyn  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on the environment you set it in. When it’s in a cooler/cold room it will tend to be more solid. If the room is warmer it will be more soft. You can also just add more coconut oil by melting it, letting it cool, and then whip into your Shea again

    Hey my first time watching one of your videos I actually have shea butter and I'm going to attempt making it whipped and it was nice to have information about how to do it properly and what oils and ingredients go best with it I think that you do great voice overs your voice is very clear and well spoken so it's very easy to listen to what you're saying and it's very helpful in the long run and I like that you show us the consistency and tell us things that we should and shouldn't do in order to get the best out of every product thank you very much video was very helpful

      You don’t need to refrigerate it if you don’t want to, it will be very firm if you do. I just keep it in a cool dry place, like my bedroom until I use it up. It’s usually gone in about a month in a half.

    OMG thank you for the shea butter idea, I have a tub of 100% all natural shea butter but it's hard and I've just been rubbing my fingers to add it to my lotion because I didn't know how to use it, OMG thank you so much and I just subscribed to your Channel

    I was going to ask if I could replace the Avocado Oil with Some Apricot Kernel oil at all? 😊 💕
    I love the Smell of Apricots and I know that it is Also good for our Skin, please let me know what you think. 👍🏼😊
