Dagur Major props to you. well thought out design with simple materials. I like how you incorporated tube design for interchangeability of hook types and sizes. will tie one to see how effective they are getting larger fish to commit. thx again.
Great video Big D! I like how you've taken a production style of tying to get all the teaser flies to be the same + overall great design! Will tie some up for sure to tango with the LMB's hear in NC
Dagur, this is very creative. Thinking I’d like to tie several up for striper fishing in the NE. How would you modify the recipe (size-wise) for SW fish?
I tied a bunch up and the teasers weigh about 0.8 grams, the heavy teaser about 1.2 grams. Whole rig is around 5-7 grams. Certainly can use smaller eyes to lighten it up. I used 4mm eyes. I'm going try to throw these with a bfs pole myself.
I've also shaved my beard since that article 😂 I did mention tube flies in the article, but the tutorial there was for the shanked version, which is sexy as well. I prefer the tube and that's how I started out making them, but the shanked ones work well too.
I can see pike shredding this rig to oblivion here up north but very creative and would be nice anywhere they don't have hungry toothy critters. I often have to put the drop shot away when too many pikes around cutting my weight's dropper line.
Never seen this before. Cool looking.pattern. If I use this out west with a design for salmon, large trout, smallmouth etc. Do you end up with foul hooked fish, what if they snap at one of the small outrigged flies and get foul hooked. Just curious if anyone that has fished this style and had that problem.
An umbrella rig for the fly rod! Fantastic!
Awesome !!! Great fly and great to see you a few weeks ago for dinner and our meeting. 💪🏼

Very interesting.
What types of fly line do you like fishing it with?
What link do I go to to purchase???
I just use the tried and true: snot on a hook. Works every time.
Do or can I buy a sweet Alabama rig.....
how do you straighten the mono
approximately how much do those weigh when its complete? I would love to fish this on some Bfs gear.
About as much as one cotton swab

@@petelinkoiv5651 5 to 7 grams sounds about perfect to me. I might have to invest in some cheap fly tying equipment to try these myself.
👌 Awesome 👌
Is it just me or does it seem like the fly has changed a bit from when he published it in California Fly Fisher? I don’t remember it being a tube fly.

@@carpsplained Good to know! I I’ve been wanting to tie a few up, but if I’ve been too poor to buy the materials 😂

Wire instead of mono, shanks instead of tubes, problemo no existo no more

There's only one hook
I love the fly. But I disagree with the fish need pretty flys? I wouldn't catch anything if that was true🤣🤣🤣
