I have a gsxr 600 and I can tell you the seat is unbelievably comfortable and it stays that way for however long I ride. I've been on multiple hour trips and I never have an issue with getting uncomfortable and its amazing. All my friends are getting off their super sports and need breaks to stretch and their backs hurt and their ass is numb and I'm like nope, don't feel a damn thing. haha

Clorox Bleach yh gsxr have always been the most comfortable. Kawi apparently have finally got it right with the 2016 which props yu forward but not much pressure on the wrists. But those bikes and the yamahas are always track focused So yu ache quicker. Whereas the gsxr does it right for comfort because we want to have the option to commute on our super sport bike.

I agree with Jaret here. My L2 GSXR 600 is amazing. It's super comfortable and having ridden it as often as possible since I got it, I don't get sore at all. I just put StompGrip on the tank to help prevent ball crushing when stopping and now it's perfect. I had an '03 R6, and while it's still my favorite as far as feel, this one is definitely a better daily rider. I would get uncomfortable on my R6 after only an hour or so.

As a newer rider to the biking world, the only thing I don't like about GSXR bikes is their headlight setup, just so old school. Needs to be updated and I think it would really increase its curb appeal!

Nephus Reins amen buddy, as I am looking for a 600 around Christmas I have went and sat on all of the bikes, the GSXR is a nice bike to sit on but the headlights on both sizes are so outdated.

In response to your question about how comfortable they are when riding them for a long time,I took my 2013 gsxr 600 from new jersey to boston and back in one day. 700 miles and 11 hours and it was just so comfortable and it wasn't fatiguing at all.

So, I JUST started riding. I took the classes this past week, and Saturday and Sunday was my first time riding a motorcycle. Monday (yesterday) I rode mine for about 7 1/2 hours with a couple short breaks to hydrate and what not. Yes, it stays that comfortable.
Out of all of the bikes I looked at, The GSXR 1000 was easily the most comfortable. It felt like it made specifically for me. I have the 2016 model (denoted by the red slash on the bottom of the fairings) I bought brand new that was delivered last Tuesday. Had 4.2 miles on it (test ride to make sure nothing leaks and everything works, even delivered it topped off with fuel). Prettiest bike I've ever seen (hence why I bought it, LOL)
Considering I had ridden a 250 in class for 2 days and then hopped on this, I can say that if you use your head, and remember what you were taught, this bike is so smooth in every way. Some people make it sound scary. Like everything is so touchy. That's bullshit. The brakes, throttle, everything about it is smooth, linear, and intuitive. If you start slow and smooth, you won't even notice a difference between modes. Only if you get on it.

Really made me miss mine. 2011 with gunmetal frame and black fairings. Always left it in a mode lol. Came with dealer installed two bros cat delete and single side pipe, and would pop blue flames on downshifts. Super comfy, i would do 100+ mile rides pretty regularly, found that by simply sliding my butt to the left on the seat i had a super chill reach to the throttle and was able to sit almost perfectly upright. Got used to the power, dropped a tooth on the front sprocket.... 3rd gear @120 and give it full throttle and it would still easily lift the front. Fell in love with gixxers after test riding an 05, had rode a 1000rr and an r1 just before it, but gixxers are so tossable, and felt the most alive, and that feeling of "i can throw this thing anywhere on the road i want to" made me a lifetime fan.

Lot of bike owners don't seem to understand that the stock exhaust was designed for that motor to retain the right amount of back pressure. If you want performance and noisy exhaust it's great for 1/4 mile runs and short distances. If you want to have a really high top end keep the stock exhaust on.

Your bike reveal cinematic production quality has really stepped up over the rides. Simply magnificent. Sometimes I just watch the reveal cinematic of each bike, because the amazing shots, artfully added graphics, and killer music just amaze me. I sometimes wish you had a playlist of just the reveal videos I could let roll. Bravo, Chase, you've become the master we all aspire to be.

This bike is fenomenal, I don't care stereotypes or other people's opinions, they are comfortable, we'll built, nice for my taste (not that insect face of Yamahas or transformer face of Kawasakis) and powerfull enough on par with all liter bikes including overpriced euro ones.

i have a 2008 Gsxr 750, it too has the A B C modes. A and B are both unrestricted power. B has less throttle response wont open up all the way at WOT (makes my 750cc feel more like a 600cc). C has reduced power from ignition timing and less throttle response. C is used for rainy days or getting used to the bike when you first get it.

Great first ride video. Sold my last bike 11 years ago due to my business being busy, children being young & it was a too heavy, but fast, ZX1100. Loads of get up and go. On 11/16 i'll be 57 years old and i think a GSXR1000 would be a great birthday present to myself. Yea... light bike, tons of power, cheaper than a Ferrari... what could go wrong? I sat on the CBR1000, but felt like I was sitting on top of it. You're right the Suzuki felt real comfortable like I was wearing it. Much nicer. My first fast bike was a 1983 Suzuke GS1100E. In it's day that was a strong bike. Wish I still had it. $3,600 00 new lol. Subscribed.

I have the 2011 GSXR 1000 and changing from A, B, and C mode does not require rolling off the throttle. It is an instant change. If you are in C mode and are around 8-10 rpm and you switch to A mode you will feel the extra 30 or so hp kick in.

I can't really speak to it because I've never owned a bike with the top end Brembos, but from what I hear, the Brembos on these bikes stock are not all that. I plan on upgrading to steel braided brake lines and that should help a lot. Another thing that you mentioned is the powerband. GSXRs are known for their midrange power, and you're right, it starts to come on at 5.5K on the tach. Then it really hits at about 8. Your fuel light was on, lol. Hope you made it back.

I demo rode one at Bike week, I was sold, my only issue is I'm a bigger guy (6'8" 320lbs) and I look Goofy on it, but it's the only bike I've ridden where you're really one with the bike, in the corners it was very confidence inspiring, the chassis is solid, and the drive off the corners is amazing, it may not be as fast as a S1000RR on a track, but on the street, it'll hang. I'm gonna ride it again next year, and see if it feels the same.

This is interesting. In the UK, all 2015 model GSXR's are going to come pre-fitted with Yoshimura exhausts. 600, 750 and 1000 will have all the end can, appears in America that isn't the case.

I have changed 5 bikes till now(6 if you want to count the last one i got a few days ago ,A KTM) and i must say that as a big man,GSXR K7 was indeed the most COMFORTABLE bike i had..The worst was my CBR 600 2005 ..Yamaha R1 was descent and ,YAHAMA R6 2008 was also descent for a small bike(compared to CBR 600 that is),SUZUKI B-King was totaly another story..But GSXR K7 is for my standards a bike that you can enjoy in big trips.

Everything you loved, I would have to agree and say, is spot on. Its a great bike. I love mine soooooo much. On the seat question. I have ridden mine for 3 hours straight and was barely getting a little sore. I am 6'2" and 185. It takes getting used to where that mode switch is. I was doing the same thing when I bought mine, hitting that horn button. Not a problem now.

The mode changing is instantaneous. As soon as you press the button, you are instantly in the mode you chose and any subsequent command will reflect that new mode. Even during an acceleration, if you press the button, that will reflect on the rest of your throttle motion. The Honda is as least, as comfy and practical as the Suzuki. :) The gixxers and the Kawas are the bikes with best price/performance ratio, even though the Kawas are even more inexpensive. But the gixers probably offer the best compromise between price and experience.

For me one of the biggest deal breakers is if it doesn't have an actual fuel gauge. The headlight look is probably one of the best ones but I'm still not a fan of. Looking forward to the redesigned in 2016 but I have to say I'm liking this one quite a lot especially being short.

The modes change instantly. If your are giving it a good amount of throttle and start changing modes you can hear and feel the changes. I have tried it on my gsxr 750.

***** The power modes... A,B,C. He was sayig he doesn't know if they change instantly or if you have to let off the throttle. I was just saying as soon as you switch the modes it changes. You dont have to do anything else except push thr botton.

I gotta tell you Chase, I really love your First Ride videos. I'm a motorcycle fan all the way from Lima - Perú and you have really helped me out figuring out some of the next bikes I'm hopefully gonna have in my lifetime :D. Maybe some time give it a shot to some touring bikes, i'd be great to hear what you think of a Versys for example, or a Multistrada. You are a cool guy bro, keep the great videos up!

    Haha, riding my bike :)
    Glad you liked it :P
I honestly don't really get the mode selector to be honest though. I don't understand why you'd ever be riding in anything but A mode. I guess it's a cool feature to have but I can't see myself ever using it.
Also, I've ridden the bike for multi-hour long trips all day and it's not too bad. You do start feeling tired after an hour, and I wouldn't go two hours without a break at the end, but it's not bad. This is coming from my experience with upright bikes like the Street Triple and Ninja 300.

GSXR 1000’s are absolutely awesome! When I bought my first 2011 GSXR1000 L1, it had about 2k miles on it, it was practically brand new.. I put over 10k miles on the bike without a single issue. They are just stupid reliable! And I see them as like the Toyota of motorcycles lol. I never used C mode much, but every now and then I would use it, for practicing on corner entry and corner exit really fast. From what I understand. A GSXR1000 in C mode will still out perform a GSXR600 on a Dyno by about 20WHP. Anyways, power on wheelies are easy with a Gixxer 1000CC. Mine was making right at like 168Wp-170WHP. And it was just a rocket. I feel like an idiot for selling it.

***** Awesome! Totally looking forward to that vlog. Please consider spending a couple of minutes contrasting the CBR and R3. As a beginner rider, I am probably not the only one confused about buying a smaller yet fun r3 or a bigger and composed cbr. Would love to hear your thoughts on that.

Excuse my ignorance for asking this question. I ride and build cafe racers and have very little knowledge of the sportbike scene. However, I want to buy one of these or the gsxr750 of the same year for a daily ride. Cafe racers are not very practical and have zero technology lol. My question is what are the stereotypes surrounding these that you kept bringing up? I'm still getting one because I'm a shorter guy and will be using it daily. The comfort and shorter seat height seem ideal for what I need it for. I would like to be prepared for any such stereotypes while out though. Thanks!

My slight gripe on the new gixxers is the ABS unit, it felt like it added more weight to the bike, that a 600 I demo'd felt heavier than my 13' 750.

What are the chances you will be doing a video on a CBR650F? I already test drove one and loved it, but I'm not sure what I should be looking for or how a street bike should feel. I've been riding dirt bikes my whole life and want to finally get on the street, but not on a super moto. The FZ6R is another one I want to ride to compare, but I haven't been able to get a test ride. And thoughts or tips would be appreciated.

Glad to see you riding in my hood and I think a really informative video. Even though your vid is for a more powerful bike, I've been thinking of the Honda 500/600 family as a starter bike for me. Granted, I have a LOT of experience on KTM dirt bikes and also sport ATVs (Raptors etc) in the deserts of Arizona. But this will be my first street bike. Having said THAT!>......I am a pretty big boy. 6'7/240 lbs. I have had other riders say they think I am too tall for a sport bike. I have been shopping and the 5/600 range feels pretty good to me and not to heavy. I have been shopping. Your thoughts? Hit me up with your thoughts boss! Great videos by the way!

If you want power, turn the throttle hard; if you don't want power, turn it softly. It's not that hard, you really don't need power modes (unless you're in the wet but that's where traction control will help but I doubt this bike has it).
