Gary Moore was a MONSTER player, simply stunning. And yes, the current generation of guitarists don't know about Gary Moore, but by god they should be learning from a master like him.
"Pariesiene Walkways" brother is a must if you're going to Gary Moore! I'd also highly suggest Out in the fields and military man! Both cuts feature Phil Lynott on bass and vocals from Thin Lizzy!
"The Messiah will Come Again" at Montreux 2010 by Gary Moore is the best version to watch to see his guitar expertise & videoed up-close outstanding fretwork. He is the best!!! Purely instrumental but will take you on a wild, emotional roller-coaster of a ride! Simply beautiful. You won't regret it! Brought me to tears running down my face.
I find it fascinating that you could consider Gary Moore a “forgotten” guitarist. Anyone who has forgotten Gary, obviously never possessed the musical appreciation to care about his amazing talent. There are so many more that can be added to the list of great singers/guitarists Eric Clapton, Warren Haynes, Robert Cray, Joe Bonomasa, Tom Petty to name a few. ✌🏼😎🇺🇸

Forgotten? Gary Moore is far, far away from being forgotten. Gary Moore is the greatest guitarist you or any of us will ever hear. Gary is one of the very, very few guitarists who was able to reinvent himself and his playing on a number of occasions. Check out "Parisienne Walkways live HD" and "The Messiah Will Come Again Montreux 2010 " you will be as far from disappointed as it is possible to get.
Congratulations my friend, you have discovered the greatest guitarist that ever walked on this earth! There were and are many brilliant guitarists but Gary was just a cut above the rest. He played with so much feeling and passion it touches your soul. This concert (which I was lucky enough to be at) was part of his tour to promote his new album Still Got The Blues. Gary was known as a rock guitarist, but he wanted to make a blues album. His record company were not particularly keen and indeed Gary himself was concerned that it might be a flop. As it turned out, it became his biggest selling album! I first saw Gary play in 1969 when he was with Skid Row (Not the Skid Row that you are thinking of). I saw him play more times than I can remember and he always gave 110% Gary could play any style he wanted to from Blues, Rock, Jazz-Fusion and even Neo-classical. Gary and Rory Gallagher knew each other very well and indeed in the early days when they played a gig at the same venue each would leave their guitar on stage for the other to use in case they broke a string. I have many Gary recommendations that I would really like you to react to Including some of his Rock performances. However, would you please react to Gary Moore The Messiah Will Come Again Live. Here is the link: th-cam.com/video/7k07j7LcLqw/w-d-xo.html Here you will see probably the best guitar playing that you will ever see. I promise that you will not be disappointed! Not the same band Skid Row that you reacted to. It was an earlier band. Something that may have impacted Gary's popularity is that he didn't like to fly so he rarely came to the U.S. to tour. He was very big in Europe however and those in the guitar community are very familiar with him.
Different Skid Row. Gary's Skid Row was an Irish blues-rock band of the late-60s, briefly featuring on vocals Philip Lynott, who went on to form Thin Lizzy. This performance was from Gary's "Live At The Hammersmith Oedeon" vhs tape. For whatever legal reasons the concert has never been released on dvd or bluray. This may be due to the fact that Albert Collins and Albert King were guest performers for this concert. Both of them passed before Gary so not sure if their estates won't give the rights over. With Gary passing i have always hoped the label would clear things to allow for an official dvd/bluray release. Maybe some day.

Duane& Gregg Allman, Johnny winters, Tab Benoit, Luther Allison, Walter Trout. There are some more. But give these guys a listen... They are guaranteed to impress
I'm so glad, that younger people still love good guitarists. Fuck any hitlists. Queen had a rank for "Bohemian Rapsody" at Nr. 50! The most creative song ever... 21:37
you HAVE to react to thin lizzy, the entire black rose album is amazing, basicly all the songs from any thin lizzy album is amazing, thin lizzy is also irish and played with gary moore often and gary was in thin lizzy for a short period of time, and the lead singer (phil lynnot) is just the coolest he was black guy from ireland and he wrote amazing songs and his voice is amazing, i used to overlook the bass until i heard phil play it
You are correct about the plagiarism. Just remember, there only a certain amount of Notes on a guitar, so the possibility of playing them in the same order that someone else did is pretty high. Gary Moore and David Gilmour two of the very best. Probably include Hendrix and Prince in that mould too. The BIG difference is HOW you play the notes and the emotions that you can make people feel
everybody you mentioned is the greatest guitarist! if you were there at the right time in the right place .... it all fits together! personally i believe its Tommy Emmanuell, but others may disagree :) big love to all people :)
I love that you appreciate the artists and go into their background and facts before the review. Others may not like it, but most of us that came here to watch this reaction, love when people appreciate them. Jimi wrote very catchy music that was innovative. He was an amazing guitarist, but a bit sloppy compared to some of the people you are being exposed to now. In lots of Gary’s songs, he doesn’t sing, or is kind of talking through it, so people that don’t hear this song don’t always realize he can sing. He just has an amazing feel for the composition, putting you through what he’s going through, and is ungodly expressive. I love that you hear the guitar sing, and sometimes it does more than the voice can. As others have recommended, please check out the LIVE versions of “Parisienne Walkways” and “Messiah Will Come Again”. Great reaction!! I’ll be here to watch more.

Gary Moore was supreme in his ability to play the guitar and in my opinion was bettered by no one! May I suggest if you want to see another amazing performance and arguably even greater playing than this one, do a search on this platform for George Harrison & Gary Moore While My Guitar Gently Weeps
Another blues vocalist/guitarist you should check out is Steve Marriott. He was frontman for The Small Faces in the 60s and then formed Humble Pie with Peter Frampton. Please check out Five Long Years by Steve Marriott.
It was the time of rock gods do the record cpanies probably had their star rock god so the other guitarist would be held back but the musos all turned up for him thats for sure ❤
There's another band that never got their due. BLUES IMAGE. They had a commercial hit in 1970 with "RIde, Capt, Ride" but it was nothing like their true sound which was a mix of Latin Rock/Blues/Progressive Rock/Jazz. They were every bit as good as Santana. Here is a blues song that will blow your doors off - "CLEAN LOVE" - and here's the link to that - th-cam.com/video/fZrODv1lCTw/w-d-xo.html
Another guitar GOAT in the herd is Michael Schenker. The UFO songs “Love To Love” from their album Lights Out and “Rock Bottom” from their live album Strangers In the Night are a couple of my favorites. Also from his band MSG the instrumental song “Into the Arena” is killer! th-cam.com/video/EGY0KEGVK6Q/w-d-xo.htmlsi=JYJsD8j3CO2-rgcm
Do you really want to hear a super good song by him listen to Parisian walkways with improvisations. The regular Parisian walkways has singing in it but this one is all instrumental he goes off!
like what you said of talent that don't get the same recognition as others this band listed below had some great songs but never got popular The Sensational Alex Harvey Band The Tale Of The Giant Stoneater
Gary Moore did have American success w/ 'Still got the blues' in 1990, but he was a hard rock guitarist... That blues record got him typecast as a blues guitarist for the rest of his life, sadly. Gary Moore's band Skid Row was in the 60's in Ireland - NOT the American band Skid Row from New Jersey w/ vocalist Sebastian Bach that became a huge success in 1989. He was heavily influenced by American blues artists from the 1950's like Albert King, Buddy Guy, B.B. King... and he also became a huge fan of Jimi Hendrix (Gary Moore recorded a live covers album 'Blues for Jimi') ... Moore became close friends w/ Thin Lizzy bassist/ vocalist/ songwriter Phil Lynott and played in Thin Lizzy a few times over the years - Moore recorded 1 Thin Lizzy album 'Black Rose' ... and was filmed in 1978 w/ Thin Lizzy in Australia - it was released as the concert video "Live at the Sydney Harbour '78". Moore paid tribute to the late Phil Lynott w/ a live set of Thin Lizzy songs, released as the live DVD as Gary Moore and Friends - "One night in Dublin" Despite going solo in the 70's and debuting in 1978 w/ 'Back on the streets'... Gary Moore was not commercially successful for years. He was managed by Ozzy's wife Sharon Osbourne for a while in the 80's. Success came in Europe in 1985 when his album 'Run for cover' became a hit... Despite lack of recognition in America, Gary Moore racked up successful albums - 'Wild frontier' (1987)... 'After the war' (1989) ... 'Still got the blues' (1990) became a global hit w/ a nod to 50's blues music. In the 90's, Gary Moore saw record sales fall... but he persisted making record and touring for the next 2 decades. Sadly, he had a problem w/ alcoholism and his health was a concern before his death in 2011. Symphonic rockers Nightwish covered a Gary Moore song - 'Over the hills and far away'... and made it a successful single of their own. Ozzy Osbourne sang on a Gary Moore song - 'Led clones' ... a rather humorous track. Other tunes by Gary Moore - 'Empty rooms' ... 'Out in the fields' ... 'After the war' ... 'Parisienne walkways'... 'Nuclear attack' 🔥🔥🤘🤘
..very nice put together info, buddy....with one exeption...Gary didn´t got a serious alc problem neither he was an alcoholic. Gary had been suffering from cardiac arrhythmias for a longer time, although alcohol consumption is of course not advisable. I know this cause a very good friend of mine told me so...namely his little sister Patricia.....
@@stefanstock953 "(Gary Moore) had 380mg of alcohol per 100ml (per decilitre) of blood in his body when he died. “It's a massive amount of alcohol and enough to send most people into a coma. The tests showed he was a heavy drinker and had been abusing alcohol over a period of time." Nope... u got it wrong, sad to say...
@@sumonjamal1653 The really sad thing is that you are bringing in rumors that you have read that are absolutely out of place here. Your data obviously refers to the article in the newspaper 'The Telegraph'. This crap paper also wrote that the number was close to that found in Amy Winehouse. All baseless slander. He died of a heart attack, a blood clot had formed in his heart for some time, that's what killed him, not the alcohol. His doctor knew this and therefore an autopsy for drugs/alcohol was not necessary. I tried to put this right here and I'm upset about it because the shitty rumors piss us off (Gary's sister & I) and hurt our souls. Can you understand that? Nice..bye
@@stefanstock953 This was an autopsy that was carried out... U can deny it all u want, but it was no secret that Gary Moore had a drinking problem. I have a DVD of his 2010 live performance and he'd gained a lot of weight and looked like he was struggling to perform. I wish Gary Moore was still alive and playing music, but some people can't take care of themselves. We lost Rick Parfitt of Status Quo that way... We lost Layne Staley of Alice In Chains. It happens. U can believe whatever u want to believe, but denial of the ugly truth is no way to go. I should know. People still want to believe that Elvis was alive after he had died... Many think Kurt Cobain of Nirvana was murdered and he didn't commit suicide... It doesn't work that way. The evidence and hard facts speak.
@@sumonjamal1653 Holy Moses, i surely don't deny his struggle with alcohol. Fact is alc wasn't the cause of death. And if your data were true, he would have died of liver molesis rather than a heart attack. I should know this, as someone who has drunk heavily for over 17 years and now talks to you, as a dry alcoholic for 12 years now. But you are able to regocnize the severity of its consumption and the physical condition caused by it, just by watching a DVD and listening to hearsay. But hey, do as you please. If he failed, like you want to believe, i would be the first one to say.."Damn, Gary, it's your own fault, you selfish egofakker." But i won't let an unreasonable, brazen boy like you compare me to one of those cospiracy theorists ala 'Elvis lives'. You really think you know everyone by reading a single comment, you little dreamer. And for your sentence bout 'not taking care of themselves', you really deserved a resounding slap in the face. You should be ashamed of yourself for such presumption and arrogance. Normally, i wouldn't have let go myself that way and responded to something like you. The wiser one gives in, ya get it... but hey, what does it have to do, right....damn, thanx.. i'm feeling better. Now go and grow...in Peace, little fellow..
greetings and love from Germany..See, it´s not bout who is the best, in the eye of everyone..it´s moore bout you finding out for yourself who is the best, in your eyes. Music and musicians are not given to us to be put in a stupid contest/comparsion by us. Well, back in 1989, i was sweet sixteen, i was lucky to witness Gary Moore live on stage, here in Cologne. And it was literaly life changing for me....This superfluous argument about who is the best is getting on my nerves. These over-talented musicians, except for the narcissistic egofuccers, are not at all interested in being the best. Everyone wants to get the best out of themselves to enchant us with their magic of music for some time. And these know-it-alls dishonor it with their childish quarrels, in my opinion. Most of them, me included, cannot even tell who technicalwise is better, cause our lack of knowlegde is to big. So i always say that i love to listen to Gary, moore than to any other.....R.I.P. I'm so glad, that younger people still love good guitarists. Fuck any hitlists. Queen had a rank for "Bohemian Rapsody" at Nr. 50! The most creative song ever... 21:37
His song called I LOVE YOU More than you'll Ever Know is amazing and intense!
you HAVE to react to thin lizzy, the entire black rose album is amazing, basicly all the songs from any thin lizzy album is amazing, thin lizzy is also irish and played with gary moore often and gary was in thin lizzy for a short period of time, and the lead singer (phil lynnot) is just the coolest he was black guy from ireland and he wrote amazing songs and his voice is amazing, i used to overlook the bass until i heard phil play it
If ya want to hear Gary do some major guitar singing listen to “ Messiah will come again”
Blues shredding at its finest.
Gary Moore was influenced by another guitar legend that you've probably not heard of, Roy Buchanan.
who wrote ttthe Messiah will come again Garydoes an incrediblelive verionof it. Bye the way my nest request has already been made Roy plaaying when a guitar sinfgs the blues live Should be here in a month or so. Cant wait for his reaction to this1
Oh Pretty Woman 🔥🔥🔥
Gary Moore was supreme in his ability to play the guitar and in my opinion was bettered by no one! May I suggest if you want to see another amazing performance and arguably even greater playing than this one, do a search on this platform for George Harrison & Gary Moore While My Guitar Gently Weeps
Another blues vocalist/guitarist you should check out is Steve Marriott. He was frontman for The Small Faces in the 60s and then formed Humble Pie with Peter Frampton. Please check out Five Long Years by Steve Marriott.
i grow up with him, evrybody nows him in here europe ;)
You got that right Man.
Faz um react da música "separate ways" do Gary Moore por favor
This makes me emotional every single time i dont know actually why
He made that gutair cry mercy
Oi boa tarde sou aqui do Brasil pode fazer um react da música separate ways do Gary Moore por favor
Went to see him absalute magic.
Wow!!!!!
Always one of my favorites. Orianthi will surprise you if you want a woman to blow you away.
Jeff Healy if you haven't let a blind man blow you way.
“I expected a face melter”. Give it a second…..
Gary Moore and Jeff Healey are the greatest guitar players in the World.
Wt? OMG I had a physical reaction to that. It was a strange feeling.

Try Eric Johnson CLIFFS OF DOVER and Joe Satriani IF I COULD FLY
With until u listen to him jam with BB the King for me wow wow 👌
Do you really want to hear a super good song by him listen to Parisian walkways with improvisations. The regular Parisian walkways has singing in it but this one is all instrumental he goes off!
like what you said of talent that don't get the same recognition as others this band listed below had some great songs but never got popular
The Sensational Alex Harvey Band The Tale Of The Giant Stoneater
Moore paid tribute to the late Phil Lynott w/ a live set of Thin Lizzy songs, released as the live DVD as Gary Moore and Friends - "One night in Dublin"
Despite going solo in the 70's and debuting in 1978 w/ 'Back on the streets'...
The tests showed he was a heavy drinker and had been abusing alcohol over a period of time."
Nope... u got it wrong, sad to say...
Now go and grow...in Peace, little fellow..
btw skid row is another band before the 80s 90s skid row
Love Gary Moore you need to check out Joe Bonamassa Sloe Gin or Asking Around for You You will be mesmerized
was probably a different Skid row to the one ur thinking mate?
greetings and love from Germany..See, it´s not bout who is the best, in the eye of everyone..it´s moore bout you finding out for yourself who is the best, in your eyes. Gary
Have a peaceful day, buddy & stay safe
Very well said! Bravo
@@karengoodenough827 awe, that's nice from you..thanks, my dear...i hope it's well said/written.
...cause school's out for me for decades and i was very bad in Englisch. And i don't like using Google Translater. So mistakes can happen easly. Have a beautyful and peaceful weekend & stay safe ♤♡♤
try, ill play the blues for you by Joe Bonamassa
Listen to "Need Your Love So Bad"
Dude watch Hendrix Voodoo child live in Maui it's 🤯🤯🤯🤯
For me, this is blues meeting soul. No?
if a guitar could bleed, gary could make it
Buddy Guy as well. Nothing more to be said.
Just enjoy the music. Isn't that what really matters?
You said slash but slash isn’t even in the same league as one one of Gary’s fingers
React please
Uh, this is great, but listen to Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits. Alchemy video of Sultans of Swing. You will be transformed.
Just a note: I freaking adore this! Have the album!
If you're in to guitarists, take a look at Joe Bonamassa.
He’s just not in the same league as SRV or Jimi Hendrix.
Yeah, way past them... And I love Hendrix.
Hendrix was his own thing but SRV? Gary Moore was, at the very least, in the same league as SRV.
sorry, but theres no such league...One cannot and should not try to compare these extraordinary talents. Especialy Jimi...he was unique, cause he was one of the ´first´ shreddy in an different time era. But hey,.. It's actually quite simple.. all you have to do is say: For me ... is the best. Or: I prefer to listen..or ...I like him the most
