The thing about Gary Moore is that he had more heart than the metal players and more technique than the blues players and that's what made him so blisteringly soulful.

Yes, this is one of his many Gibson Les Paul, you know your stuff, 😂 And he was for about 35 years in possession of a very very special Les Paul called “Greeny”, a 1959 Les Paul Standard, which had a very unique sound. If you wanna see both in action and confirm that then check out “The Messiah will come again”, live in Montreaux 1990. An absolute masterpiece!

The fast notes are impressive and Gary really knew how to contrast the slow with the quick. But it’s those high bends where Gary really excels. To play a les Paul right at the top of the neck with that control and clarity requires fingers of steel! The man was oozed the blues and he is one out of the box, never to be repeated. Especially in Europe. But among american musicans, he is well known. Big inspiration for people like Joe Bonamassa and Kirk Hammett from Metallica even owns Garys 1959 Les Paul. Empty Rooms may just be even more emotional than Still Got the Blues. Good Choice, it's definitely a truly beautiful song. Too many true legends go unnoticed and forgotten ... Gary, Glen Hughes, Mark Lanegan, David Byron, Tommy Bolin. I'm truly surprised how many people have just began discovering Yes, Genesis and The Moody Blues. I'd always thought talent like that would never go unnoticed, it seems I was wrong.

This was one of George's last public performances (perhaps his last), & you can tell that he really enjoyed being on-stage with Gary. Gary was one of the very best. And of course from the island of Ireland 🇮🇪💚
Was fortunate to see him live and he would literally blow you away - the guy was a force
If you fancy doing some more Gary ‘Parisienne Walkways’ is another classic. And one of my favourites is when he did ‘Red House’ live at the Fender anniversary concert to honour Jimi. I consider it one of the best EVER live performances. It is OFF THE CHART 🙌🎸

When you put in your blue hours on the guitar, most can learn to "pull notes from the spine", through simple pentatonic scale shapes. The musician does "feel" this while doing it, hence the expressions and body language.

Great to see Gary Moore featured here. Check out Empty Rooms (live version). Great lyrics, excellent vocals and a memorable guitar solo. I feel sure you will love it. Greetings from Ireland.

I used to listen to this with the girl I should have married and who knows, maybe we knew it was too good to last.
But we turned this on, dimmed the lights and just went where the music took us. If we timed it just right one ir both if us would be gasping for air right about the time he hit the crescendo of that solo.
    That my friends was magical.

Love Gary Moore - sadly 12 years gone now. This is the title track from a studio album released in 1990, I believe.

Saw him in a really tiny club in Manchester, more like a large pub, about 1975.
Second half of the set he came on alone and just played (improvised) for 15 minutes before the rest joined back in
    Stunning.

Thank u Sky. It's so refreshing to see young ppl appreciate the GREAT music of yesteryear. I first saw Gary on the Letterman show do this song rt after the release in '91 and it 'blue' me away. He did go thru a lot, and died at 58. See Wiki. RIP Mr Moore. 🎸
PS. This song has become my #1 fave of all time replacing Stairway to Heaven. 😂
