    BENEFIT OF EDIBLE POTASH
    1. It reduce boiling time
    2. It's retains it freshness
    3. It tenderizes the meal
    4. It reduces the amount of time spend in cooking
    5. It improve lactation in puerperial
    SIDE EFFECT
    1. It reduces the quality protein content in meals
    2, it is in making tobacco snuff that predispose to lung diseases
    3. Induces uterine contraction in pregnant women can cause abortion
    4. Predispose to low sperm count
    5. Hypertension and affect the body organ e.g kidney.

    I guess it's what we call luubi in F/Town. Used in cooking okra, krainkrain. Nowadays baking soda is more commonly used.

    Potash, rather has higher potassium rather than sodium. Hence the name. It cooks food quicker due to the higher pH and therefoe uses less energy to cook food making it cheaper and quicker to release nutrients in food that would require lots of digestion.

    I was wondering why African recipes use this thing. I was shcoked. I just saw a video of a recioe named Apapa and they used it in that recope too. Don't do that. Lots of love from Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹
