Everyone is different. I don't argue with anyone blaming banana for their problems. But as for me the banana does wonders in my stomach. After suffering from IBS for years of constipation, bloating, indigestion, gastritis, etc. but now I'm relieved thanks to these bananas others scorn! I tried different fruits and always had to take laxatives before bowel movements. A poop once in a week was even difficult. But now thanks to banana i poop everyday. Hallelujah!!!! Bananas are too good!
Hello there I read about your constipation, and eating bananas which is perfectly fine. May i suggest one more thing I do every day, which you may know already. As soon as you wake up in the morning and with out brushing your teeth (which is important) drink one full litre of water, a little more if you have bigger body. Don't drink all at time but pour it into a glass and drink each glass every 3-4 minutes. You will have very free poop movement. All the toxins in your body comes apart from the poop. Please do not stand and drink water always be seated while drinking. This I'm saying on any occasion don't stand while drinking water, this brings a lot of negative energy to the body as per Ayurvedic science. Good luck
I had the same problem even with bleeding and hemorrhoids after a while but you can get the same exact effect as with bananas but without the sugar and carbs if you take psyllium husk fiber
Lo-sodium tomato juice and lo-sodium vegetable juice (small cans ) have approximately 600-700 mg of potassium per serving, and 30 calories per serving.
Too many people are sodium phobic because of what the federal government wrongly put out in their dietary guidelines. Salt your food to taste is very good advice. Do not be afraid of it. Many people have low sodium levels in their body cuz they're listening to the wrong people.
bulk supplements potassium citrate powder. mix 1 teaspoon into your food. twice a day. this equals the rda of 4700 mg. extra from food is a bonus. also, i mix 1/4 teaspoon salt (~500 mg sodium), twice a day. this gives 4:1 potassium/sodium ratio.
2:00 A great method of adding potassium in meaningful amounts would be to dissolve cream of tartar into your liquid of choice. One teaspoon of cream of tartar contains approximately 500 milligrams of potassium. The exact amount may vary slightly based on the brand and specific product.
I'm pretty sure the no salt potassium is the reason I was able to dump my concerta and antidepressant drugs. I'm not depressed anymore. And I took my ADHD to the woodshed. As I don't have that anymore either. Almost 6 months on keto. Thanks for keeping me in this game. I am so grateful for these kinds of supports.
Dr Berry I just got your book “Lies” and I love it! I have suffered with occasional tachycardia SOB weakness out of breath when climbing stairs for years. My cardiologist can’t see anything wrong because my EKG is normal! I have been eating Keto for over a year. and lost about 15 pounds. I am now listening to you about potassium and the side effects of low K are what I have experienced I am trying your advice. Also I am at a stand still of no weight loss lately on my Keto diet! Thank you for all your helpful videos. Laila Swan Los Angeles CA
Did you take the popular injection? We are still uncovering the side effects that have been hidden from us. You are describing one of the scenarios. I don’t know how much weight you are carrying, but overtime that can push people over the edge into symptoms as well. Sometimes the body holds onto fat as a protective measure, so if you are very toxic and your fat cells are protecting your body by storing it, your body may not want to let go of that unless you have something in your body to help detoxify it. That is a huge topic to start exploring. While calories in/calories out has been disproven as being too simplistic, if your leptin is out of whack, calories definitely do matter. Doing a little food tracking might be valuable. Obviously, supplementing with electrolyte drops or taking “snake juice“ that has a little bit of sea salt and potassium salt in it are non-caloric ways of getting more potassium and other electrolytes into your body and normalizing your fluid balance. Look into correct in your light environment, that can play a huge role in the electrical signaling in the body which obviously affects the heart. Complicated science that is simple to apply in real life (not necessarily easy, but simple and inexpensive for most people). Dr. Jack Kruse is the go to guy for that but more and more people are learning about it and sharing it in more Laymans terms. Jack can be found on TH-cam as a guest on many different health talkshows. I hope you get to the bottom of things!
I found that supplementing with heme iron helped this same thing I had. I use dessicated liver. It's the most absorbed kind of iron and it's from beef livers. Much harder to overdose on, too, and no stomach issues like with chemical iron.
Could extreme thirst after pizza or salty foods could be a symptom of low potassium? My blood work is normal and my sodium is 139 and my potassium 4.3, but I have chronic loose stools so I think I lose water and electrolytes. I do have cramps occasionally after a workout or a walk at night.
The best potassium supplement I have found is cream of tartar, cheap, bioavailable, and versatile if I'm starting a fast I put some on my hand along with pink Himalayan salt and lick it off have not had keto flu or cramps since doing this
Lynette Rall I play around with the dosages depending on how much exercise and skateboarding I'm doing it's been a hundred degrees out here so I find I need a little bit more some days Thomas delauer has a video on making a drink with that apple cider vinegar and limes I recommend watching it he gives the recipe and explains it in better detail it has been life-changing for me to be honest
I am so happy that you explained how much potassium we need. I eat beans, greens and even some Nutritional yeast. I also love liver. BUT I obviously do not eat enough. I have severe brain fog to the point I often will not drive my car. Thank you for clearing this up. I ate all the potassium I could and VERY shortly the fog went away. Today I feel better that I have in a long time. I love all your videos you have helped me. I want to send you something as a thank you.
All true. I had several of the symptoms as described after 4 months on the KETO diet. I now make sure that I eat more of the potassium vegetables to stay healthy. Thanks for the video...
I purchased Dr. Berry s book : Lies My Doctor Told Me . It is an easy well written book and an eye opener . Buy if you value your health it is well worth it. Thank you Dr. Berry.
Hi Dr. Berry, Can you make a "Whats in my fridge" video? Or a grocery haul video? I'm new with the keto lifestyle and wanted ideas for a grocery list! Thank you! And I love all you videos! They are all super informative!
The timing of this video is perfect. Thanks Dr. Berry! I'm off to my doctor today because of heart palpitations - B.P. and heart rate are fine - that I can't seem to shake (many months now in spite of keto/IF) as well as muscle cramps. I think I'm on to something with this video. Thank you!
Susan Smith has your doctor done test to see where the heart palpitations are coming from? I have extra beats, and my doctor put me on beta blockers. I don’t want to take these!! Just wondering if potassium could help me.
@@bkpaster possibly but I wouldn't assume. Have doctor check your Potassium level for sure. If your Potassium is low he will know for sure but also check Magnesium because if Magnesium is low it will keep potassium inadequate. They work together. Nurse cardiac unit retired now
@@sigalsmadar4547thank you for your comment, i was just getting ready to type the same thing. When we start keto we dump lots of inflammation and our electrolytes go with it. It's a very simple fix that can make you feel better almost immediately!

Amber Delivered different coconut water contains different amount of potassium , so just take a look before u buy , mby u can find better one in your grocery store
If I am low on potassium, then I get night time anxiety and restless legs which keeps me from Boy, focusing on potassium has helped me greatly!!! I still need to supplement with potassium even though I am eating foods with lots of potassium in it; I just cannot cram enough food in with a 20/4 window for IF to get enough.
Dr. Berry, please can you do a series of videos about celiac disease (CD) non-celiac gluten sensitivity (NCGS), the 300 possible symptoms of CD and NCGS, how to test for CD and NCGS, the genetic markers that enable people to get CD, the incidence of the CD genetic markers and CD and NCGS. Also once diagnosed, what is gluten, what grains have gluten, what ingredients are made from gluten, and how does a person prevent cross-contamination so that the person doesn't get glutened. About 5 years ago, I went gluten free at the instructions of a nutritionist. After 10 months, my sense of smell started coming back after being pretty much dead for 20 years. As the weeks and months passed, I stopped having allergies, tinnitus, eczema, constant and lowgrade fatique, etc. In all over a period of 2 years 4 months, I had 18 health problems solved. CD and NCGS are common and are chameleons that get misdiagnosed as all kinds of other diseases. Also, I think you said that your wife is a nurse. Can she do a video presentation by herself, please? Nurses have a lot more education than some people give them credit for. Also, they are very focused in on emotional support of patients and their relatives. So, she could give some very useful info.
@@wormwoodbush3537 , when doing keto, there's still the possibility of getting glutened due to cross-contamination or using foods that contain an ingredient that is made from gluten. Sometimes, ingredients, that are made from gluten, have names that don't indicate they are made from gluten. Those ingredients can sometimes be "vegetable protein", some kinds of vinegars, etc. Also when eating out, the kitchen staff need to know so that they don't cross-contaminate your food or use an ingredient made from gluten. Cross-contamination is as easy as not changing gloves, using the same cutting board, etc.
@@kimberlycooper4170 yeah sorry, I do know all that stuff, I should have been more clear. It's really late at night here in Australia, I'm a bit tired, but I'm a YT addict lol, plus I'm still learning keto, so lots of research. What I was taking about was strict keto at home, using only raw ingredients. I understand the cross contamination thing, and the restaurant thing, I've got a latex allergy, and you'd be surprised where that crap pops up! Just like many non allergy sufferers, or people without friends with allergies, wouldn't know what contained gluten. It's a bit like latex actually, it's hidden in so many places, cause it's cheap to produce. I hope you have success in keto, you never know, in a short while, your body might recover to a point that you can handle minor gluten exposure without symptoms. I'm kind of hoping for the same miracle with latex, but I'm not holding my breath lol.
@@wormwoodbush3537 , yay! An Aussie. I love Aussies, even when you make me search online for definitions for Aussie dialect words. I've been gluten-free for 5 or 6 years. When I eat even a little gluten, I get eczema, the kind that has water blisters. I can now eat cheese, nuts, peanuts, etc. because I no longer have food or pollen allergies. I got rid of 18 health problems when I went GF.
@@kimberlycooper4170 that's awesome that you've fixed so many issues. Your vet sweet about living my Aussies lol. I have cured my fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome with keto, so I'm a bit like you in that respect. Anyway, I better get to sleep, it's 3am! @Darth Palpatine If ever you experience muscle cramps make sure you attempt to stretch the affected muscle at the very onset. There's a tendency by many sufferers to paralyze or freeze until the pain subsides. That's the worse possible reaction because that does not get rid of the acid build-up in the muscle responsible for the cramping and very painful outcome.
@Darth Palpatine Darth, keep a Banana by your bedside table. Because of the sugar content the Potassium is absorbed quickly. I learnt this from one of the super bowls. The QB was pulled out because of a cramped hand. The coach sidekicks brought out a bunch of bananas for him and he was back in within minutes. It's been a big help to me.
Actually doing it while watching this video!! LOL But it has to be potassium, magnesium AND selenium. Magnesium without the Selenium will not work but together they will get rid of the cramps. As will pickles, pickle juice, sauerkraut and sauerkraut juice. I'm on so many meds than deplete them all it's not funny. I am having surgery in August and trying to get my heart to beat right before then!
General rule.. Potassium should be balanced at twice as much as your sodium levels. Potassium is 4700mg/day Sodium is 2350mg/day. These are averages. If you are very active, these numbers might be a bit low! Heavy sugar use depletes magnesium and potassium quite rapidly as well.
I totally agree with the idea that foods are a good source of minerals, at least they used to be, but with prevalence of "modern" farming, or crop production methods, most farms have soil so depleted in them that they simply can not be in the crops they produce... Add to that the profound affect Roundup has on the availability of those same minerals to be used by the plants... Roundup ties up those minerals so they aren't available to the plants... that's why they die... They're starving for the minerals needed for cell growth... the same way our cells starve when we don't have those same minerals...
Glyphosate is a heinous ((((thing))) Monsanto knew for decades and falsified their science to cover up. 😈 Finding organic produce or growing our own is most important now. Along with grass-fed meats 💯
NO liver or clams. I'm allergic to shell fish. I LOVE tuna, broccoli, asparagus and avocados. I eat them often. I love salads too with Romaine lettuce. Thanks for this video! It's full of useful information. :-)
Just diagnosed with high potassium… pain in the butt!!! Thank goodness I have a great doctor( doctors) that were on it! Getting checked out and referred to a renal doctor… I’m grateful for finding out about it… doing my research as I’m very proactive in my health, as well as the info my doctors giving me… SO glad I found this video!!! Thank you !!♥️‼️🥰🕉☮️
Brazil nuts also are a good source of selenium which is great for heart health and cancer resistance. I also bought a year ago, saw a list of foods in order of their potassium content, coffee was number 10 and bananas were number 1610.
I'm on a Dr. Berry marathon tonight! :-) Just watched one about highest magnesium foods, before that was the one about natural ways to prevent high blood pressure, and now this one. What potassium supplement (if any) do you and Neisha use? Thanks for everything!
I am just learning about potassium, but incorporating mag glyconate into my life was one of the best things I ever di to lower my stress and anxiety. It really works for me. I started having anxiety attacks after one of siblings committed suicide, but did not want to ever take any psych drugs. The magnesium works. I sometimes take a pill, but I also have a spray to just spray on my feet. Works best there. I like the pill better because I know how much I am getting and don't want to upset the rest of my balance.
I’m not sure why but I have elevated potassium levels either high normal or high high. So this is helpful to know what I should avoid in the future to keep my levels down
Thank you very much for this. I can't tell you how muchbits appreciated. I have been struggling with muscle cramps and muscle fatigue for a long time and could not figure out why. Thank you for sharing this knowledge
Great vid as ever Dr. B. I manage to keep my potassium levels up by using some no/nu salt in a drink every day (along with some magnesium and some lemon juice).
LOl to no bananas! I was on dialysis for 8 years and all I heard was don't eat bananas because its the highest in potassium which was true because when I would eat one it would show up in my blood work every time. LOl I am transplant patient now so now I'm trying to eat as much potassium as possible! Great video!!
this was VERY helpful DR. Berry. I have heart failure & was told I need to eat lots of potassium....however, I also need to lose lots of weight. I didn't know about the fish U spoke about , so that's great to know.....thanks again !
Beets leaves alone in 1 cup has 1300 mg of Potassium. 1 Avocado has about 875 mg of potassium. Question is how much potassium a day should we take? Some said 4700 mg and other said much lower.
Say that Benny, below, is correct ... I believe 4,700mg is the right target goal for me. Either number, I believe, will be modified by factors in each individual's life. Why? Some things rob our bodies (deplete them) of potassium. That includes prescription medications and having diabetes. There's more. I don't have a whole list.
Always love your great info,,I have shared your utubes with many many people Dr. Berry. I've told several people this is my go to Dr. I listen and learn from you every day. My sister is type 2 Diabetes,,so I think I have her on the keto train too. I sent her links to several of your video's. Just sending out a big THANKYOU!
I spent my entire life with muscle cramps my parents brought me to the ER one morning because it was so bad I couldn't straighten my legs and I ate potatoes and bananas by the pound fast forward until I was 44 and had to have my gallbladder removed I found out I was low in magnesium which Not only was responsible for all the muscle cramps that I suffered my entire life but also from the heart palpitations that I was having that I thought was from my coffee. Add supplements go back to drinking coffee thank you. I wish they would have taught nutrition to doctor. Would have saved me a lifetime of suffrage
Thank you I ride and sweat alot I know I'm potassium low and get cramps like crazy I'm doing this change and getting results I'm gonna add some more foods you suggested
Can I get too much potassium? I'm drinking your ketorade with the nu-salt in it and if I have more than one of those in a day, will I be getting too much potassium? Thanks!
No it doesn’t. You can not take too much because you will just pee out the excess. Besides Dr. Berg says we need 4700 mg of potassium a day, and it has only 1000 mg.
I enjoy Dr. Berry. I did research Tuna awhile ago after experiencing this literal burning in my head. It felt like my head was sensitive to cayenne powder and that I had some sprinkled inside my head! This was the feeling that I had. Well, it turns out that Tuna has a fair amount if mercury in it. So, before starting a fish regimen, make sure your fish is low in mercury. And, eat fish that are moderate or high only seldomly. Mercury is very toxic to your body. When I subbed another fish for tuna, this feeling went away! There used to be a website telling you what levels of mercury were in certain kinds of fish! I do not know if it still exists...
Yes, we really should not even be eating tuna! I have to say I am very surprised that Dr. Berry would recommend it to anyone specifically because of the high mercury levels.
When supplementing, should I choose Potassium Gluconate or Potassium Chloride? NOW Foods has both in powder form and I'd like to know which form is better absorbed.
I use KCL - potassium chloride powder NOW brand. I mix it along with magnesium and trace minerals, in 3 cups of water and drink throughout the day. Citrate cramps my gut.
Thanks Dr. Berry for the info! Could you maybe show a chart in the background or off to the side like you have done in the past that shows us the actual mg per serving? Numbers.. gotta love'em!
Started keto beginning of January this year. notice I have slight ankle swelling. I have being craving Brazilian nut like crazy and went ahead and got some also have been eating lots of Avocados. The body is such a wonder machine. Thanks you for this knowledge.
Most of the foods listed are in my diet nearly everyday but I still have all the symptoms of low potassium. I'm going to try supplementing with a powder drink mix and see if that helps.
I recently had a metabolic panel where my Anion gap, ser/plas was 18 mmol/L, I've been in Ketosis for about 10 weeks, lost 40lbs and feel great. All other labs were in normal range, with my HbA1c Screen at 5.4 % down from 6%. My Dr isn't concerned about the Anion gap, but I would like to learn more. Thanks for the great info, I've learned alot on your channels.
Love to hear your thoughts on potassium supplements & danger of heart rhythm sudden death....also im on 100mg losartan blood pressure med that IS potassium...
I just found your channel and am watching every video on all of your playlists. Started with Carnivore Diet, pretty much have seen all of those. Next is your Diabetes 101, since I am diabetic. The first week on the Carnivore Diet, my Glucose has been stabilize between 120 to 135 and I had to cut my meds in half.👍 I have told everyone I know and a ton of people I don't know when I am shopping about your videos. BIG FAN!
I just caught this video. I read all the comments so far. No one has mentioned taking Lisinopril for High Blood Pressure....one of the contraindications is ... do not supplement potassium!! I'm 73...if I don't regularly make 'ketoaide' I do get leg/foot cramps. I also notice I get frustrated and angry if I don't take salt/potassium/magnesium, bwahaa, and I'm a widow and have no one to get frustrated or angry with!!!
I just started on Lisinopril to save my kidneys, and I am always low on sodium, potassium and magnesium - cramping right this second in fact. I have it checked regularly but with kidney disease, congestive heart failure, diabetes, high blood pressure and scores of other ailments I won't go into, I can never get them balanced. I am eating lots of beet greens now in salads for their mineral content. My doctor has me on potassium supplements though. I will have to ask about that!! Thanks!
Lisinopril contains synthetic venom. If I were you, I’d get the heck off of lisinopril. I can’t tell from what you said if you’re actually taking it but just saying it’ll kill you in the long run.
I have been trying to get the RDA for potassium a day. I ended up eating so much spinach I was blessed with kidney stones. So I have been trying to calculate the amount I am eating but steering clear of all the green leafy kidney blockers. I am not sure how people get 4,000-4,500 mg a day of potassium. Yesterday I did meal prep based only off of trying to get enough potassium and I ended up only with 3,150 mg. I have been watching what other people are eating as well and calculating it out. I do not see how any one is getting anywhere near the 4,000-4,500 a day. I also do not want to eat salt substitutes due to dextrose. I don't know how our ancestors kept track of all this stuff while running from predators!
Must I take a potassium supplement as well as magnesium ? I have a significant amount of muscle cramps during the night. I'm trying very hard to find the balance on more of a carnivore diet.
This is a common problem with people going low carb. Even when taking magnesium and potassium supplements, your body don't hold onto the electrolytes as well while on a low very carb or keto diet which has a diuretic effect. I did that in the past, the supplementation is just a bandage. Your body can get used to it, they call it keto adapted, but in reality it is not optimal for your overall energy and sleep. While I don't follow his diet, I recommend looking at Paul Saladino, who was a carnivore but added fruits back to his diet. Fruits are the ideal source of potassium in addition to red meat, as well as magnesium, and various other important nutrients. The benefit you received from going carnivore is not due to avoiding carb, but due to avoiding foods that are causing problems to your digestion, which are generally high carb foods that are also tough on the gut, such as grains, legumes, and processed foods. Unlike leafy greens and various vegetables, fruits are generally easy to digest and have little antinutrients. Having adequate carb is very important for your thyroid and nervous system function, the thyroid regulates your metabolism so it is key for it to be healthy otherwise your metabolism will be down regulated over time which means lower energy production which affects all the functions in your body. I only stumbled here because I decided to look up potassium videos after being perplexed to find out the WHO recently lowered the RDA of Potassium for adults from 4.7g to 3.4g, this is not good and will fool people into thinking they are getting enough when they may not be. Potassium is important for controlling blood pressure. In addition to muscle cramps, low potassium also causes palpitation and anxiety. The body will voluntarily release potassium if it doesn't have enough magnesium. You want your potassium intake to be higher than sodium for healthy blood pressure, this is easy to achieve with fruits in your diet.
On nutrition, I watched videos about artery blockage. Some say this is calcification of the artery, not cholesterol. They claim Vitamin K2 will slow and maybe reverse this. You thoughts please. Why I ask. It took 50 years eating lots of sugar and carbs to plug up some heart vessels. I had 3 stents installed at 50 and was put on ACE inhibiters, beta blockers, and statins. As my blood sugars rose I got drugs for that as well. It only took about a dozen years to where I needed a triple bypass. So I don't think any of these drugs did a whole lot for me. If anything following modern medical advice has harmed not helped me. I stopped statins,, cut the beta blockers in half until I can get rid of them completely, and since starting Keto I don't need the Metformin and glyburide to keep blood sugar in check. In a week I will only be on Lisinopril and will look into dumping that as well. I am going to get healthy even if it kills me, but worry not, if I die I won't come running to you.
You should check out the book "The Magnesium Miracle" by Dr. Carolyn Dean. She also has some awesome you-tube videos. Magnesium is a master mineral that so many are deficient in and she has a very absorbable form and also talks about how to balance it out with other things.
Hello Dr. Kenberry, I am type two diabetic and I eat one avocado every day for breakfast and my potassium level in my blood is 4.6 is that bad? Should I quit eating avocados?
I eat a half an avocado a day and lots of red meat but I still have leg cramps in my legs at night. Should I take a supplement? Does a potassium supplement even work?
I read recently that to much potassium can actually cause heart problems. Is that true? I just recently found out that my heart stops at night sometimes and just had to have a pacemaker. Scared to take any potassium supplements but I do eat a lot of green leafy vegetables every day. Thanks for all the info Dr Berry

Too many people are sodium phobic because of what the federal government wrongly put out in their dietary guidelines. Salt your food to taste is very good advice. Do not be afraid of it. Many people have low sodium levels in their body cuz they're listening to the wrong people.
bulk supplements potassium citrate powder. mix 1 teaspoon into your food. twice a day. this equals
the rda of 4700 mg. extra from food is a bonus. also, i mix 1/4 teaspoon salt (~500 mg sodium),
twice a day. this gives 4:1 potassium/sodium ratio.
2:00 A great method of adding potassium in meaningful amounts would be to dissolve cream of tartar into your liquid of choice. One teaspoon of cream of tartar contains approximately 500 milligrams of potassium. The exact amount may vary slightly based on the brand and specific product.
I would not usea whole teaspoon, it would throw off electrolyte balance. 1/4 tsp cream of tartar and 1/2 tsp salt
I do this, it does help somewhat. Certainly is better than not doing it.
Potassium is important, without enough of it your cells just can't function properly, and your performance will suffer.
How did you manage to get enough potassium in when you tried the carnivore diet?
Got a topic for you to consider doing, Ken - keto and diverticulitis...
Great idea! I’ve come across 2 people that claim Keto gave them diverticulosis.
I feel great on it personally

I really love listening to and learning from Dr. Berry. He is doing a fantastic service to all of us!
How to lower it fast
@@bitrudder3792 Good comment! And yes, the popular injections are almost always bad. Did you get them? If so, how did you detoxify?
I found that supplementing with heme iron helped this same thing I had. I use dessicated liver. It's the most absorbed kind of iron and it's from beef livers. Much harder to overdose on, too, and no stomach issues like with chemical iron.
Could extreme thirst after pizza or salty foods could be a symptom of low potassium? My blood work is normal and my sodium is 139 and my potassium 4.3, but I have chronic loose stools so I think I lose water and electrolytes. I do have cramps occasionally after a workout or a walk at night.
I don't think EKGs are too good at spotting anything that's not blatantly wrong
The best potassium supplement I have found is cream of tartar, cheap, bioavailable, and versatile if I'm starting a fast I put some on my hand along with pink Himalayan salt and lick it off have not had keto flu or cramps since doing this
Joe Botz Thank you for the info :-) Like half a teaspoon of cream of tartar?
Lynette Rall I play around with the dosages depending on how much exercise and skateboarding I'm doing it's been a hundred degrees out here so I find I need a little bit more some days Thomas delauer has a video on making a drink with that apple cider vinegar and limes I recommend watching it he gives the recipe and explains it in better detail it has been life-changing for me to be honest
Of course Himalayan salt and cream of tartar are components of the drink also
Great, will look into it....happy skateboarding! :-)

Dr ken has a keto drink that he and neisha use. They call it ketorade. Look at his playlist for the video.

Keto is gluten free, unless you choose to use flours or grains that contain gluten. Which would kick you out of ketosis.

I used to wake up at night screaming from cramps 😖 but it's gone since I started paying attention to what I eat ❤️
Me too. Im workig on getting into controle.
@Darth Palpatine what is your diet
@Darth Palpatine Darth, keep a Banana by your bedside table. Because of the sugar content the Potassium is absorbed quickly. I learnt this from one of the super bowls. The QB was pulled out because of a cramped hand. The coach sidekicks brought out a bunch of bananas for him and he was back in within minutes. It's been a big help to me.
Pickle juice! My Marine son said they used it in combat zones in the desert when dehydration was an issue.
I’ve done that muscle cramp dance 😬😆
Actually doing it while watching this video!! LOL But it has to be potassium, magnesium AND selenium. Magnesium without the Selenium will not work but together they will get rid of the cramps. As will pickles, pickle juice, sauerkraut and sauerkraut juice. I'm on so many meds than deplete them all it's not funny. I am having surgery in August and trying to get my heart to beat right before then!
General rule..
Potassium should be balanced at twice as much as your sodium levels.
Potassium is 4700mg/day
Sodium is 2350mg/day.
Glyphosate is a heinous ((((thing)))
Monsanto knew for decades and falsified their science to cover up. 😈
Finding organic produce or growing our own is most important now. Along with grass-fed meats 💯
NO liver or clams. I'm allergic to shell fish. I LOVE tuna, broccoli, asparagus and avocados. I eat them often. I love salads too with Romaine lettuce. Thanks for this video! It's full of useful information. :-)

No Salt substitute
I’m not sure why but I have elevated potassium levels either high normal or high high. So this is helpful to know what I should avoid in the future to keep my levels down
What about Molasses? I know it has a lot of sugar, but it also seems to have a tonne of potassium and magnesium along with a good dose of iron.

Beets leaves alone in 1 cup has 1300 mg of Potassium. 1 Avocado has about 875 mg of potassium. Question is how much potassium a day should we take? Some said 4700 mg and other said much lower.
For me 4700mg is way too much. I believe the rda is now 3700mg
Say that Benny, below, is correct ...
I believe 4,700mg is the right target goal for me.
Either number, I believe, will be modified by factors in each individual's life.

I enjoy Dr.
Chloride is the cheaper version in more ways than one
I use KCL - potassium chloride powder NOW brand. I mix it along with magnesium and trace minerals, in 3 cups of water and drink throughout the day.
Citrate cramps my gut.

Question for you Dr. Berry: Can you get too much Potassium and if so, what are the signs that we are over doing it??
Can you make more videos on carnivore diet please. You opinion is very important to me.
Very grateful for your accurate, motivational videos.
@No name 20 grams a day total carbs.
A friend of mine has way too much potassium. She doesn't know what to eat to get rid of it. Anyone have suggestions?
What about artichokes I was told they have high potassium is that true? Thank you for all you do for us.
Yes!
Get a good electrolyte powder. Dr Berg sells a great one!
Great down to earth information!!!
For years I thought my night cramping was magnesium deficiency. My blood pressure stays low - I just got it to go up by taking NoSalt broth. I’m glad
Great work, Danny.
@@beejereeno2 ok I know this is unrelated, but how did you get the tick, or check mark in your nickname? I've seen so many people with it.

So sorry for all your troubles!
You are a smart cookie! Those pills lead to death! I will pray for you - and keep up the good hard work!
Im on monyh 8 of carnavore. My potassium 5.5. My Dr wants to give me a 2 day medication for it. Do I have to stop eatting red meat?
are there any real dangers to eating lots of tuna? I heard they have mercury or some BS. (or is it not BS at all?)
Sounds like you need magnesium. It has stopped my leg cramps.
Whats the difference between losartan 50mg and potassium 595mg suppliment?
I read recently that to much potassium can actually cause heart problems. Is that true? I just recently found out that my heart stops at night sometimes and just had to have a pacemaker. Scared to take any potassium supplements but I do eat a lot of green leafy vegetables every day. Thanks for all the info Dr Berry
If you get potassium from food rather than supplements you should be ok.
MINXC3 the weird part is that when I was in the hospital they has me taking a potassium supplement because my labs said I was low. But with my heart issues I scared to take them at home
@@MINXC3 Is salt considered a non-problematic food?
Thank you, but i have got highzr platelzts and blood clots, should i take potassium.

I LOVE BANANAS!!! I have a heart condition and suffer from low potassium. I'm pretty low carb but eat 1 banana a day and I feel great with it. I did lose weight as well. It's just hard for me to never have a banana again.
do you have a hypokalimia before
Me too. I consider myself low carb but also have one banana a day at the end of my OMAD. Also, sometimes a few dates. That’s my dessert and “candy”. I refuse to feel guilty about it and continue to lose weight and feel great.
Does the potassium in class diminish if you steam them? Or must you eat clamd raw for the best potassium intake?
