Hazbin Hotel.
The show is about a hotel or hostel technically to rehabilitate sinners.
They do ANYTHING but rehabilitate sinners.
Angels just say LOL LMAO to the hotel idea. IN THE FIRST EPISODE.
I feel like Adam and Sera’s personalities/views should’ve been swapped. It’d make more sense for Adam to feel sympathy for for these sinners considering he’s related to basically all of them as the first man, and ofc Sera wouldn’t care about the sinners, she’s an Angel, she only wishes to serve out God’s plane and God’s justice with fiery passion! It’d also actually make us care for Adam bc what is he gonna do? “Sera I don’t want to kill any more of my children, I quit!” He’d just fall like Lucifer. Adam works best as a sympathetic villain, Sera works at least decent at the Frollo type villain. It also would have made his fall to Lucifer at the end more poetic, instead of getting stabbed by Nifty he could have been bitten by Lucifer in his snake form and slowly died lamenting in Lute’s arms (or arm lol)

@@ScorbunnyPlayer1 I guess, but the same could apply to the heaven born angels who have been longer than Adam like Sera. Hell, that was the reason Lucifer fell in the actual Bible itself, he grew an ego/god complex and paid for it.
@@awesomelyautistic3413 my biggest issue with Adam is that he was written to be a strawman for Charlie's arguments to easily shut him down, instead of making him a compelling antagonist where we could understand his side of the perspective he's written to be a one-note stereotype of sexist tropes. And also I just don't like how Heaven is portrayed as absurdly incompetant to the point where the angels don't even know how a person can get into heaven, shouldn't that have broken charlie's resolve to save sinners how can she get sinners into heaven if not even the people who run it know how to do that, completely ignoring the fact that the only way someone gets into heaven is through the lord himself. I groan every time Charlie says "If angels can do whatever and remain in the sky" anyone who has read the bible knows full well that God does not allow angels to do whatever they please, he banished Lucifer and the fallen angels to hell as punishment for abandoning their duties and responsibilities in favor of their selfish desires and attempting to overthrow him. The whole point of hell is that the people who end up there had been given every chance in their lives on Earth to turn away from their vices and become better people. Unironically "Hell is Forever" minus the part where Adam says he kills for fun would have made for great anti-villain song.

@@ScorchedTemales I guess we are going to forget that there are crosses everywhere in heaven a symbol associated with Christ who god sent down to Earth to die for all of humanities sins, how would the angel's not know this, even if we say that god doesn't exist or is absent in this universe are we really going to say that in the 10,000 years since the angels created the earth and humanity not one of them got the idea and said "hey everyone maybe we should set some rules and guidelines on how humans can asccend to heaven, and also make sure that they continue to abide by those morals even after they make it here so they don't fall into complacency". I find it absurd that such beings who are supposed to be of pure wisdom and foresight wouldn't have come up with such a simple idea, you say that Adam has never once been called out for his shitty attitude, what about the other winner's in heaven including those who were good-hearted who definitely would have seen him acting like he does and no doubt would have discussed this with the angels, how has he never been reprimanded for his manners in 10,000 years no less. Furthermore anyone who understands the true nature of heaven understands that when a human soul makes it there all of their pain, guilt, anger, vice, and sorrow are washed away and they get to exist in a state of neverending joy, so even if Adam was resentful and bitter for everything that happened in his life on Earth he should have had those things washed away when he made it to heaven, meaning he would have been changed to a more charismatic and wise individual who would have been given guidance on how to deal with those issues. Sorry if this is difficult for people but I find it absurdly stupid that the Angels would be this incompetant and overlook so many issues.
There is also Dio from Jojo s where you can have a villain with a bad backstory but still make him a truly evil character

I've said it before and I've said it again. Adam's personality would fit almost *perfectly* if the guy in charge of the Exorcists was not Adam, but *Samson.*

It's funny because as a Christian, Hazbin Hotel is so divorced from Christian theology that it's not even a commentary on Christianity. It's just their own world with a few names imported.

Adam is a mustache twirling villain like dr.dufe from phenies and ferb. but its cringe because the writers where not trying to make him so comically bad.
you pointed out a really good point in this vid that I really liked and that was they revealed too much of the character too fast, making him lose all interest value. he also didn't have a motive, want, and lacked a whole lot of depth. there is no sense of his true hidden self. there was no mystery because this character hid nothing.

A big problem Viv has is that she is not a storyteller.
Her strength lies in character design and her ability to appeal to the online LGBTQ+ and Furry communities. She has cultivated a massive fanbase largely through her ability to appeal to their tastes in what they want to see in online media. Namely spicy sexual relationships between characters who are dripping with overt sexuality and designs with accentuate sex appeal. That and messy romantic relationships, personal trauma and taboo subject matter.
But her ability to write a story is one of her biggest weaknesses. She has a rough idea for a narrative but she very much focusses on specific scenes she wants to depict between specific characters.
If Viv can work those scenes into an ongoing story that's good, but it's not her main goal. She very much writes "in the moment" and not with the expressed intent for the story to remain coherent throughout with an intended end goal.
The plot of hazbin is really unique and interesting what is this take lol

It’s really that fact that all the jokes are sexual or try to be relatable.
Personally I believe Adam's characterization being a jab at Christianity is only part of the reason for why he is the way he is. Practically everything in the *show* is intended to spite Christianity, after all. Adam *specifically* feels like a caricature of every kind of person Vivzie personally does not like shoved into a bender and wrapped up in "satire".
And considering that Adam is apparently based on her ex-boyfriend, I'm pretty sure that I'm partially right.

Y’know viv ain’t about that given she’s one of those liberal left artistic types, look about how she mocked Scott Cawthon during the harassment on him when someone leaked his political funding and how she mocked his Christian beliefs and pro life views imho she fucked around found out when she in turn got harassed as well, while it’s not good she should have just kept it shut. Freedom of speech doesn’t mean freedom from consequences from everywhere or everyone.
my problem with Adam as a villian is that he's too over the top, like obnoxious in the worst way possible. It feels like a character straight out of Velma. Just annoying but not interesting. Thank God they kill him early in the series. He was a total headache when I first watched the show lol.

This is just personal preference Adam is one of the most beloved characters in the show Hazbin's biggest issue is easily its pacing
As a character, he just seems like the bully dick character who gets beaten in the first episode
As a villain, he's very mid, and the fact that he's a high-ranking angel means that he's one of the main antagonistic forces in Hazbin Hotel. So by that merit alone, he's not a good villain, and I don't see the appeal through that lens

good points. Even thow i just like Dick Master. He has slight more interesting moment when he dies. But all those things the people say about him which makes him interesting are derived from pure speculation. For example: HE is spitefull bacause he was betrayed by lilith and Eve so that's why he is spitefull. He smiles at his assistant Lute in his last moments - like there is meaning behind it -> but all those things are not fleshed out i the show. It's mostly fan speculation.
In my honest opinion those interesting bits were made by pure accident.
It was honestly so amazing that she managed to right complexity with no exploration and having others dig and making him so memorable.
@@desadograisedrobot515 yep. But aside from Adam the show is little of a let down. Pilot had more interesting depictions of characters. In series I have a feeling most of the cast was dumbed down. Hazbin Hotel seems for me a little to simple. A bad sign for woke production. I honestly don't know why everyting is turning out to be just fine for Charlie instead of more struggle for her. The fact that being redeemed is possible is to easy for sinner. This acces should be more diffucult. Or it should be impossible and the show should concetrate on alternative solutions.
In my Opinion Adam is not a antagonist, he's just the Villian of the first Season, (and not the only villian in whole show). The Antagonist is more likely to be vox. The Antagonist doesn't need to be the Villian. (A good Antagonist until his redemption is impmon of Digimon Tamers). I find a lot of antagonists that are not the Villians but only from my memory I don't get an villian which isn't the antargonist. He didn't ruin the show for me. because i like charlie and especially Angel so much. A thing that Came to my mind writing that comment is. When Sinners can go to Heaven then Humans in Heaven who are flawed also can go to hell. And Adam seamed highly flawed. So yeah Adam is highly interested that "Hell is forever".
See the problem I have with Adam is like....the show treats him as the villain.
Like, why? Sure he's a misogynist (I'll get to that in a minute). Like he has every reason to not like charlie and Sinners.
It was a demon (well, angel at the time but potato potahto) who cucked him out of his first wife. Got his second wife presumably turned into Roo (Some people speculate Eve was turned into Roo "Root of all Evil") and not only was he kicked out of paradise, he had to watch Cain kill Abel, and all the terrible shit mankind did till he died.
So he's older than Hell and evil itself, every reason to hate the place and those that reside in it.
Another thing. Its implied he never ate the Apple. Whether it be "Knowledge of good and evil" as it normally is, or "Free Will" according to Lucifer; can he be held accountable for anything?
If its Option A: Knowledge, no he literally doesn't know any better. So he wouldn't know the way he acts is wrong, back to the misogyny I mentioned.
If its Option B: Free Will. He literally has no agency of his own because he's little more than a flesh automaton following pre-programmed orders. Heaven made him that way and thus would be to blame for what he does.

I actually think that Adam isn't a bad antagonist at all, but he's just a terrible main antagonist, he's the Loki to Marvel's Thanos. The true villain in Hazbin Hotel is character creep.
Many people criticize Hazbin Hotel (and Helluvofaboss) for having so many ideas and not properly developing on any of them before they introduce new characters or ideas.
Viziepop is an amazing artist and character designer, but she's clearly not a writer, and she's clearly not mature enough to delegate, so this is what we got.
Adam is the classic trope of "kick the cat" show a character doing as many terrible acts as possible with no stop just to make people hate him. It's just Vivz hate to man and Christianity embodied.

@@VelvetteSimp Its supposed to be about mainly redemtion, which is a very neat idea, with so many ways it can make the story go.
Buuuut it kinda derails itself in a way, because the 2 characters that are supposed to change for the better do so a little too quickly and too sudden (and not even by the hotel itself in one case), and because it kinda ends up being a Heaven vs Hell war in the end of season 1
Needless to say, the War in Heaven 2 concept shouldve been left for a future season to tackle
Hazbin Hotel was a waste of potential. That's all I have to say.

Hazbin Hotel doesn't deserve the love and attention it gets. The Characters are boring and annoying (Adam, Charlie, Angel Dust, Husk, Vaggie, Alastor…) it's visually stunning but nothing else. It Sucks

For me Adam could have been a better villian. I'm not sure if you're going to be reading all this but I hope you do keep it as a future video if you ever going to plan to make a follow-up and I hope that you have a discord so we can eventually talk someday about this.
Anyway as I was saying about Adam could have been a good villain like we're using the Bible as the material and so many other things on it so here I go. We can have Adam have resentment towards Charlie due to everything going down through the Bible because Adam lives over a thousand years old according to it, Because Bible that I have says that Adam lived and had many sons and died over a 1039 years old and then later on the Noah flood happens and you may be wondering how bad was it well there's a book called Enoch and according to it it also says what happens after Lucifer's rebellion filled with watcher angels which are very important because as soon as they were cast out of heaven some of them took advantage of the city of Enoch (a city that Cain made after being casted out for killing his brother and having his first kids with his sister) The watcher Angels were teaching the citizens of Enoch the use of magic and the most terrible one of them all having sex with the women there which caused human and Angel hybrids called the nephilim what are giants that go over 450 ft tall in height. They we're eating everything around them entire acres of land, animals, and humans to satisfy their painful hunger. After they satisfied it they finally developed a conscious and later on decided to join in on the chaos which involved magic and war and destruction. All of this is important because Adam was still alive during some of the events except when it got to the flood (he witnessed it). Which the entire story in a nutshell a father sees one of his sons get killed by the other and later on his descendants come into contact with the beings that cost the entire reason for their survival outside of the garden of Eden, create monsters that devoured literally anything in sight and as soon as they get common sense or some rationality they make it even worse by joining in the war efforts causing more chaos and to order to end it the entire world need to get flooded along with the descendants of Adam that were still participating in. This is enough material to make a tragic villain and the Creator decided to make him a misogynist douchebag😢

I don’t like Adams as a villain, either in fact, I think that show would’ve been just fine without him. Alistair should be the villain, the main villain of. Hazbin hotel. He actually unlike Adam has potential to be a good bad guy, with a great motive and story. My first time watching The show I’ve grown attached to it. I don’t exactly care about the cursing Just the story it’s trying to tell. Plus Adam doesn’t do anything evil at all, I mean, aside from exterminating the demons below, he belittles them, which is more like a bully move, then a villain move although that doesn’t mean that I don’t appreciate the show for its strengths it has its weaknesses what show doesn’t? The point being that Adam is my least favorite character in hazbin Hotel lue is a little bit more interesting than Adam as well she does play a fair fight with Waggy, but aside from that, she doesn’t do anything else that requires any appreciation for her being there. In conclusion, Adam is useless to use as a villain, Alistair definitely has a better chance at being a villain, especially since he is a mystery already for what his true motives are, And I cannot wait to see season two

I personally disagree with you(Adam is like one of my three favourite character and i don't consider him a villain nor evil), i agree that Hazbin Hotel has many flaws but i feel like Adam was never supposed to be this great evil you speak about and the story narrated by Charlie, well... i'd be surprised if it wasn't fake since it was written by Lilith.
Adam isn't the only antagonist tough, you can enjoy other antagonists and villain that, given the relative short screen time, might be more enjoyable.
There's a chance you won't like the series but it isn't worth to miss a lot of good songs just because of Adam.

Considering he's important to the backstory and is a high ranking angel, i don't see how he's not a major villain. the narrative sure treats him like one. Definitely not a Raditz or Goki (from YYH) type character. He was still set up as a serious threat.
And, ngl, idk if i made it clear in the vid, but I hate musicals. Certain ones like the South Park movie, Lion King, and SOME of Hamilton i like, but overall ion like em. And I don't care about the other villains since A. Adam was a first impression and B. many of the other villains, in both Hazbin and HB aren't all that interesting outside of being massive dicks. So, I'm not exactly invested ngl

This man made a 17 min video explaining how Adam from Hazbin Hotel is bad and one dimensional, and then has the audacity to say multiple times
"I don't care about the character, I don't care about Adam, I'm not invested and that makes the show worse"
Like if this was a min long video that was produced off the cuff, I could believe that.
BUT STING URAMESHI-
The thing that's weird about this is that the Vees are significantly better villains despite right now being less important than Adam.
Velvette is a bitch but is more 2 dimensional than that, shown through her song "Respectless" she is shown to be cunning and knows how to push people's buttons while in the finally it shows that she is actually a coward who wouldn't actually fight against heaven, instead letting the other overlords and sinners fight.
Vox is treated as a jerk but it's also shown that he has a soft spot (Valentino) his villain song Stayed Gone shows how he influences hell despite being a mess. It's so much funnier than anything Adam does but that also makes it scarier that he has so much power.
Valentino is unstable and will snap at any moment but can remain remarkably calm when he needs to be. He has a direct conflict with a main character and his disgusting traits take a few episodes to fully develop
Every single one of these characters that are within the same series, show better villainous characteristics while also being funnier and better designed. I don't know how the show messed up the MAIN ANTAGONIST but not the side villains who aren't really that important as of season 1
Charlie Alastor and Lucifer can easily just wipe the floor with them through so its hard to really find them intimidating
I LOVE Hazbin Hotel and I'm excited to see more Hazbin Hotel in Season 2 and the rest of it seriously I prefer it over Helluva Boss but I don't hate Helluva Boss I do like Loona and I like Charlie Vaggie Angel Dust Alastor Adam Emily and Lucifer.

Also I have two possible ideas that could happen in Hazbin Hotel Season 2 Charlie still feeling guilty over everything that happened blaming herself for it but Vaggie tries to comfort her telling her it's not her fault and she never intended to make things worse and after a while she starts having nightmares about what had happened to her in Season 1 Angel Dust yelling at her saying she made things worse Vaggie's secret revealed when she was cold towards Vaggie a little over it and the deaths of Dazzle and Sir Pentious where her friends girlfriend and father are all dead by the Exorcist Angels and their ghosts blaming her for their deaths.
Adam accusing her of being just like him and just as bad as he is.
also while she's awake she doesn't tell her friends girlfriend or father about it due to not wanting them to worry about her but things get a lot worse when she starts hearing Adam's voice in her head and she starts having terrifying Nightmarish Hallucinations of Adam who accuses her of being just as bad as he is and blaming her for everything that happened back in Season 1 telling her she's just like him and that she'll never be rid of him and they're both more alike than she thinks.

Personally, I absolutely love this Adam for what he is. Is he accurate or a good person? Not by a longshot. But is he entertaining? Absolutely, and its sometimes nice to have a villain who's simply a villain the whole way through (i mean, one of the best examples is Aku)
Also, there's also a potential in-universe explanation for him being such a dick. In the show, we never heard about Adam eating the fruit of knowledge (only really hearing about Eve eating it), so he could have simply not eaten it in this universe with this resulting him not really having the knowledge of right and wrong, with this being a major reason why he's in heaven, not being aware of his sins, and how can someone repent or guilty if they don't even know what they're doing is wrong
Plus, there's the fact that, if this is true, then Adam was cast out of Eden for what Eve did after being tempted with the fruit by Lilith and Lucifer, which could very might have further motivated him to go through extermination
I mean, I *like* Adam too, but the guy doesn't hold a *candle* to Aku.

I’m interested to hear your opinions on Catra. I love She-ra but I felt the show kept justifying her Catra’s bad behaviors and I really don’t like how she and Adora became a couple at the end of the series(not for representation reasons). I feel she should have been redeemed but I can’t help but feel her redemption happened too quickly and that she was forgiven too quickly. I think forgiveness for Catra is fine, great even. The show forgave her way too quickly in my opinion. I think Catra would have made a better villain than she did antagonist and I’m curious to hear your opinions on her.

I have read... a lot of FF about Adam, a lot of diferent directions in which his characters could have been take... but Viv didnt use any of them because that would have mean some people (more people) would have root for Adam to win in the finale battle, so she just turn THE FATHER OF HUMANITY into a straw man so charlie can look good while making her nonsensical arguments about why DEMONS arent that bad and deserve a second chance... even went they were alive they have A LOT of second chances, this show was rush as fuck and it shows, Adam was never allow to actually be a character, he was just a cardboard cutout that says "im the bad guy"... dont get me wrong a like the idea of Adam, i mean for fuck sake the guy is the first human ever alive, hes 10,000 years old and has a personal hate for lucifer the literal devil (also very curious that NO ONE points out that everything bad in this show is his fault) there was SO MANY INTERESTING THINGS they could have done with someone like Adam... and they drop the fucking ball... also, NO THIS SHOW IS NOT WELL WRITTEN STOP WRITTING VIV'S SHOW FOR HER, unless she actually pays you to do it
i used to like adam alot but i realise i just started liking him blindly. i do still love adam as a character but i think they couldve did better than that. like first off: If he shown just to be a jerk in the start and even in the backstory how does he get to heaven? he didnt eat the apple in the garden of eden like eve did sure but isnt the apple why evil was a thing? i cant lie his song in the first episode was rock but still. second: if they just let him into heaven what does that say about heaven itself? its supposed to be a place where its sinless and people are good. does heaven just ignore that and let who they want into heaven without choosing wisely based on if they were a good or bad person? finally: why cant adam at least be more behaved when hes in heaven? like when they were in court adam swears carelessy and sera just doesnt give an absolute crap. whats even more ironic is charlie sweared ONCE and they dont accept that? do they have a rule where you can only swear if youre not a demon? i just dont get it. they make it seem like hes even more evil than lucifer whos the literal devil. this didnt ruin the show for me but i just wish they could do better with adam. what i think would make adam more better if he was a very good person when he was alive and up in heaven and i do like that outburst from adam at the last episode it couldve been a big reveal to show who he truly is. but he was like that the whole dam time it wasnt that suprising. and i wanna say something about heaven HOW DO THE ANGELS HAVE NO IDEA WHAT GETS SOMEONE TO HAVE ETERNAL LIFE. adam made a list of it and hes just against it which is hypocritical. but i still love hazbin hotel i hope the vees or vox alone isnt a bad written main antagonist.

Well the beginning is fully from Liliths point of view as its her book Charlie reads and remember that Lilith thrived when she became part of the manifistation of evil 🤣 ,so I would question if Adam was always had this attitude or if this personality grew from being betrayed from both of his wives 🤔

A high ranking angel who is the first human with involvement in the initial story and the main antithesis to Charlie the protagonist. The fact that yall have been in my comment section telling me that he's a goofy character when he's literally portrayed to be a major antagonist only makes the shows writing even more egregious

The real problem is that Viv has not properly introduced the real antagonist yet, Adam was just meant to be the first hurdle. He isn’t the main antagonist, more like he was only the first Boss level. The big bad SHOULD have been revealed at the end of season one as a tease so theoretically this SHOULD be Lilith. (Assuming Viv paid attention in creative writing class.) ..However judging my the structural mess of writing that season one is I’m guessing the biggest problem Charlie has to face may not be from Heaven (that’s a red herring) but be from Hell itself..

Every sign points to him as a main villain. This is not up for debate. He is not a Raditz or a Vegeta or even a Ginyu. In the show, he is portrayed as a full on Frieza. They make it extremely apparent that he is a major bad guy. And even if he's the first bad guy, that's not an excuse for how he sucks as a villain. Because why would you portray a side bully as a villain if you don't plan to utilize him as such? If thay was the case, he should have died in the first episode.
The fact that you guys are writing him off as a minor villain or side bully while he's portayed as a big deal in the first episode only proves everything that I was saying. He's such a terrible villain that people have to actively take him out of that role in order to enjoy him. Still a bad villain
