an 8 episode season could work if: 1. they were an hour long, therefore making it the equivalent of 16 episodes. especially the final battle, which could've been a 2-parter at least. 2. a WAY LESS AMBITIOUS PLOT, flashiness does not make your show good! it's meaningless if there isn't enough time to develop them or give them the proper care they need. the writers were so obsessed with flashy and complex plots to impress the audience, they neglected many basic story beats any show should have in its first season, like, you know, focusing on the main characters for a start. or the Vees, who scale much less powerful compared to the angels as villains/antagonists, and were already in the pilot, unlike Adam. I can't give them points for flashiness because it wasn't executed properly or even half decently in the end, it weighed much less and had way less impact, we didn't spend enough time with the hotel or its citizens to care about stakes or tension. even if studios forced Viv and her team into 8 25-min episodes, it is your job as a writer to work with these constraints and pump out a well-written project regardless. it is possible, and it's right in front of them.
judging by the way vivienne handles any type of criticism i do not have an ounce of hope left (if there was any to even begin with) for the future of this show

And Vivienne Madrano literally compared Charlie's dream of wanting to save souls from being MURDERED to being a fledgling animator and being told that your ideas are silly. The thing is Viz decided herself to put all of these characters in just 8 episode. The characters' deaths feel so pointless and a joke, the characters' development feels empty and absent, and the characters' charm in the pilot feels like totally different characters. If Viz just made the first 4 episode in 8 just for this season, most of the show's problem would have been solved.
While yes, 8 episodes with 25 minutes each is not a lot of time to work with to fit a lot of stuff into, but there was no need to fit a lot into those episodes in the first place lol.
TOTALLY agree. i have no idea why they lowballed viv with 8 25min episodes like that, but knowing that they had that number to work with i feel that viv and her team couldve tried harder to significantly scale down the plot to accommodate for this limit. The plot tries to tackle complex themes involving the morality of heaven & redeemability of bad people and would've benefitted so so massively from having a season to grow attached to these characters first. Catch me GOBSMACKED when i turned up to episode 7 and they were like "its been 5 months!" LIKE WDYMMMM!

I imagined Valentino having a deep, smooth voice, something that can switch from friendly to threatening in an instant. I have numerous problems with the show's casting, but his voice is one of the ones I have the most issue with. Background information painted Velvette as being something of a spoiled teenage obsessed with social media, so her being a haughty Brit took some getting used to.
The show's just...OK. If they did the Invincible format where ever episode was nearly an hour long then a lot of the show's material could flow better. The show feels like I'm watching it on 2X speed. Also everyone just sounds the same, aside from a couple (Charlie, Alastor, and Zestial come to mind)
I don’t get why the staff of the hazbin hotel like Husk and Nifty should be redeemed when they’re just the staff and the only ones who have to be redeemed it’s just the residences like Angel and Sir Pentious, whoever stays in the hotel.

This show would work better for me as a movie since songs and story ideas were good but too rushed. I didn’t like the show from what i vaguely heard of it, the characters reminded me of something I made when I was not even a teenager. I don’t really like the creator from what I’ve heard of her either, there’s just stuff that rubs me the wrong way but The show could’ve honestly had potential, unfortunately it fell downhill before it even became anything which honestly is sad for any piece of art.

Writers get passionate when a piece of media has flaws, it's fun too. Writing analysis is fun and can help beginners a lot. I mean, people are allowed to have conversations about stuff they care about! Especially when everyone so blatantly defends any critique made against the writing.
