  • Chinatown is a vibrant and colorful district in Singapore, with a mix of old and new. The narrow streets are lined with Chinese shophouses, many of which have been restored to their former glory. There are also a number of temples, mosques, and Chinese clan associations in Chinatown. Chinatown is a great place to simply wander around and explore the sights and sounds of the neighborhood. There are many hidden gems to discover, such as traditional Chinese medicine shops, herbalists, and teahouses.

The Buddhist temple looks absolutely beautiful! I am quite impressed overall with all the different features in Singapore's Chinatown!

Moon Cakes aren't based on rice cakes. Instead, they are pastries filled with different veggie pastes (usually sweet) such as red bean paste, lotus seed paste, etc. There is often a salty boiled egg yolk in the middle to represent the moon.

Hi Chris. Wonderful walking tour Glad they respected the heritage of the area by keeping it as is and not building taller buildings. By chance. did you pick up another panda? Thanks for sharing and take care.

Hi Chris, if you like Singapore, you'll really love Malaysia. It's just like Singapore, but cheaper.😁
We go a lot. Buses run up/down the Malay Peninsula all the time. I would say skip JB, spend 2 days in Malacca, 4 days+ in KL, 3-4 days in Penang. You'll be going back often. 🤙
