I ran short on walnuts and used peans with a surprising twist. Yummy. they are really easy and OH SO WORTH of THE TIME
I've never heard of wet walnuts, but they look good. I'm envious of your cast iron collection! I only have one 8" skillet! Not nearly enough even though I'm single and kids are all grown and gone. 😊 So sorry to hear of your loss! Losing a parent is never easy, no matter your age. My mom passed in 2006 and hardly a day goes by that I don't miss her still, and the same for my dad who has been gone for over 26 years! I'm glad, though, that you have the assurance of where she's gone!

I know you can help me with this. I'm a guy who likes to bake stuff. Someone told me that there is a separate measuring cup for liquid ingredients than for dry ingredients. Is this true or is someone pulling my leg ? I honestly didn't know there was a difference.

I know it has been a year but I am sorry for your loss. My father died a couple of years ago this March and in some ways it gets tougher not easier because one misses the loved one even more. Again, I am sorry. We will see them again someday. :)) As far as your recipe goes, those wet nuts are homemade! I knew there was an easier way. I can cook, bake cakes, cookies and bread but my candy making skills are limited to tempering chocolate. So every single time I tried to make various wet nut recipes I failed. I tried to think of a syrup that doesn't harden in the refrigerator. I didn't think of pancake syrup because I we use maple syrup which seemed like overkill for wet nuts. Plus it isn't the flavor profile I wanted. I order my walnuts and pecans both online and freeze them. I can't say from whom or I will get shadow b@nned. But I am sure there are many great places beside the ones I use. I highly recommend doing so especially if you cook a lot and have a big family. They are so much better than anything I can get in the grocery store and I live in Georgia. The pecans are always stale and half must be thrown out and the walnuts are always bitter and half must be thrown out. Anyway thank you for your recipe. It is brilliant. :))
there's like a shortage right now! i was in colorado for 4 months and they didn't have em. so i was craving them and looking forward to having them when i got back home to va...guess what? va didn't have them either! i was sooooooo hurt!!!!! i definitely have to make them now
@@ourforeverfarm Had them all the time in far north Queensland Australia , the Chinese introduced them to Australia I'm pretty sure , my friend was visiting south eastern America and had them there for the first time , he didn't know I'd already had them here , washed and unroasted they are boiled in the shell in water the same salinity as the Ocean about 3 % for about 10 minutes , Great with a Beer or Iced Tea . Think it could have been Texas , thanks for the corn bread recipe , Matt from Oz 🤠
Sorry but Aunt Jemima 'syrup' is NOT real syrup. It's corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup and a whole slew of chemicals. If you're gonna make a video for a recipe, use the real stuff not some hacked up crap. And really, do you need to be feeding your family so much sugar? lord above.
