Jonny, Love these kind of videos from you. They are very informative and instructional. I can't use my boat much anymore but you definitely had me looking offshore using my electronics more efficiently over the past six or so years of watching. Thank you
Thank you so much! I definitely appreciate your taking the time to help teach us! It is so awesome to be able to see your screen and understand what you were seeing and talking about. Thank you! Thank you!🤙
Great video Jonny. I always like it when you show both the screen & live video. It’s the best way to teach on-the-water decision-making. This is unique content. Keep up the good work!
Nice work! You sure have a double knack for catching and teaching my man! I bought my first bass boat and MFD 4 years ago and signed up for one of your weekend courses. Which was a true turning point for me, picked LiveScope 3 years ago and have not looked back. Keep rocking the new technology with all your other skills. Thanks for all your efforts!
Awesome teaching and showing how to use all the sonar options to find and catch fish. Forward facing isn’t some magical thing - you still have to know all the other fundamentals as well as how to use maps and side and down imaging. Your video clearly showed that process. Thanks 😊
It's Summer Time ledge fishing time on Kentucky Lake, and now that the ledge bite is good again, I've been utilizing a Deep Diver & Livescope for a few weeks! Good video as always Jonny 🔥
Jonny, you’re due for a new boat. I’ve been watching forever and I’m always surprised you haven’t got a new one yet. If anyone would put it to work, it would be you.
Cranks have fallen out of my line up past few years just because I've been throwing big swimbaits, hard & soft so much in that time. I used to always have multiple crank baits rigged up. I used to throw med & deep diving cranks in shallow water & grind the bills off them.
Man Johnny you always got it going on. Finally got my electronics set up figured out and I can't wait to try and learn this stuff. Though my local lakes are only slightly over 3,000 Acres with pretty much no structure. Which makes it really tough but they have to go somewhere on these Lakes
Loved this video. Great information. Love seeing how you make adjustments on the fly. Got a hook in the finger last week. Had one jump right as I tried to grab him. So now I don’t mind if they hop off right at the boat. It’s safer lol
Always have loved this channel wow , you are a very smart person with great techniques on catching these bass , kind of amazing them fish middle of the day eating with no current an very little. Great video.
Not obsolete.. but just pressure and down and side scan scattered those fish on the ledges here on Pickwick. It takes a lot more hopping smaller schools and If you can find one of those mega schools, they are usually pretty far up on the flats rather than right on the ledge like those.
Man would love to be able to use my Garmin and have it dialed in as well as you do Johnny. Where can I get a copy of your way point icons, lol. Great video as always...
Great Vid always love your content. But man its kinda sad in a way though where fishing is going. Such a beautiful day and now anglers are just staring at screens non stop, we already do it with phones, supposed to enjoy the outdoors while out on the water. I fear if we don't draw the line somewhere it will just get worse and worse until something else comes out that makes it even easier. Once this tech becomes cheaper and gets into the hands of those you really don't want it to it really could be game over for local fisheries.
Great information Johnny! Thanks for sharing. My crankbait fishing hasn't been very good. Not sure why, maybe using 14 pd fluoro isn't allowing the crankbait to get to the depths it should. I'll scale back to 12, but, does that really make that big of a difference? Hard to know, until I try it. As always, GREAT VIDEO!
12lb will help a little bit, but increasing casting distance and picking a crankbait that dives 5ft deeper than the bottom you are fishing will help more.
It is never going to be obsolete . Why you ask . Because there will be people that don’t have or want ffs. So there will ALWAYS be a deep diving crankbait for sale .
Great video, Johnny! I know we aren't seeing every cast, but it seemed like you lost some and caught some that came off in the boat. Is that your setup, maybe? Or is it just an anomaly based on the fish we saw in the highlights?
Glad you enjoyed! I only lost 2 fish on a crankbait, both on camera. The big one I lost was 100% my fault because I was using old hooks that weren't very sharp. The other was just a normal loss that happens when throwing a deep diving crankbait. I usually only land 90% of the fish that bite a deep diving crankbait because they will sometimes slap at it and get it on the outside of the mouth
Excellent présentation as always. Can you share how far you are able to cast the 6xD? I can’t cast farther than 25 yards. Impossible to get the lure down deep. Should I add some lead dots to lessen the buoyancy? Any advice from anyone would be appreciated. Thank you.
If you haven't already, I would invest in a good deep diving crankbait rod. It really helps casting distance. I have my favorites linked in the description. Also make sure you're reeling the bait quickly after it hits the water. The faster you crank, the quicker the bait will reach depth.
@@FishtheMoment Thank you for the reply. It is amazing how some fisheries they just dont grow very big. The only thing I can assume is a shortage of bait, but you would still think there would be the occasional giant out there. dang predators
No, I still dominate with the DD, spro little John. I fish Wheeler all the time and I swear an average day I can catch 15 lbs on a chartreuse and blue flat sided. If the crank bait bite stops I would switch to a Texas rigged pink/purple worm or a green pumpkin with a chartreuse tail dip. No one found my honey hole l, at least on live. And no I’m not giving my juice away 😂
Deep diving crankbaits are too expensive. Not to say other baits aren’t, but the economy is very bad and the average man can’t pay high prices for everything. The market will correct itself over time.
@kj197743 If it’s so easy to use FFS, I go against you and you can only use FFS and I want use it. You’ll come away with a different opinion. There are a handful of pros that are that good with it and a handful of other guys on TH-cam. Then everyone else just thinks it’s that easy to use, it’s not.

Love the new format, great use of technology as a teaching tool. We sure do appreciate you doing this!
Great video Jonny. I always like it when you show both the screen & live video. It’s the best way to teach on-the-water decision-making. This is unique content. Keep up the good work!
Damn this is probably the best cranking and livescope video I’ve ever seen, nice work Johnny
The deep diver IS my electronics and used to be how we found drop offs, gravel, sand and structure by feel and report from the lure.
Best advanced bass fishing channel on TH-cam. How does he not have 500K subscribers? Great stuff, keep em coming especially the #Catch15!!
Glad you enjoy the videos!
I like this format
Love the new content. You always put out good videos and are constantly trying to one up yourself. Job well done
Johnny… your videos are always good but this one… absolutely slayed it man! Great vid!!! Thanks!
This format is a great way for us weekenders to learn how to use our electronics! Thank you!

The technology is amazing to see behavior. Thanks for the great content.

Caught a few on one yesterday. Works great. Always has.

Great video Jonny, I am so glad you went this direction! Gonna apply some of your techniques next time I am on the water.
Sick lesson Jonny!! 🎣🎣🎣🎣
bring out those new garmin settings pretty please!
I like your new format.
Killa video man! Thumbs up!
Love it Jonny
Found Core tackle at Scheel in Dallas while on vacation last week. Of course I bought some
Thanks for the support!

Very good video. You are great with your electronics. Me, not so much. 😂🤣
I guess you didn't watch the Elites on Wheeler this weekend..The big crank on ledges was a key bait for a few...The minnow & ffs was obsolete..
It is never going to be obsolete . Why you ask . Because there will be people that don’t have or want ffs. So there will ALWAYS be a deep diving crankbait for sale .
Another great video! What unit are you running at the console. Great clarity.
Garmin GPSMAP 1022XSV with a LVS34 Transducer in the Floodlight color
When side scanning a flat do you get on top of the flat and scan out to the drop? Or stay off the drop and scan back
To the flat?
I hope not because I was catching them like crazy these last two weekends on KY Lake.

I thought I saw some spoon fish in there around your XD!
Next time!

@@FishtheMoment Than you so much.
I am going to send you a micro fiber towel to clean your electronics up on the deck. You may catch a big....... 🤣🤣
😂
👍👍👍👍👍
Plz stop giving away my secret techniques brother lol
Why don’t they grow big in that body of water?
I’m not 100% sure, but I think it’s because there are a lot of striped bass and no grass.

Legalize live bait, watch the squirming begin.
Deep diving crankbaits are too expensive. Not to say other baits aren’t, but the economy is very bad and the average man can’t pay high prices for everything. The market will correct itself over time.
Because fishing deep divers takes knowledge and the techniques to use them. FFS is not fishing.

If you want to learn to fish offshore this is the place.. the best... another great video Johnny
Cant wait till ffs is banned in all fishing leagues,...
Definitely obsolete along with many other baits
