This why I like your channel. Scopeadoping is secondary to all of the other tools you use to find offshore fish!
Jonny, You are an excellent teacher. Keep the videos coming. MB
Great content. With chatter bait I like to “pump” it through the water. Just hold butt end of rod in one hand and reel in other pushing the butt end down and away lifting rod tip. Like you would a jig but support that butt well to help get through grass. That gives you more movement through the column of water and down into the holes where the bigs are. Great tip on working same spot multiple angles. Need to remember that more
you showed how important SI is and mapping really is. man ive caught so many fish just using SI folks say FFS this FFS that but when you learn how to utilize mapping and SI its deadly combination ..great vid man👊
Seeing those small dots I almost overlooked them! The things like that are what I'm referring to about finding fish.
Man your videos never disappoint. This is what I am trying to learn to do at the moment. As somebody who grew up fishing but never having my own boat. Fishing out of a kayak the last few years and out of other people's boats I finally got my own boat. And this is something I'm really really working hard at learning as I don't know anybody personally that fish is offshore. I know it would knock a huge part off of the learning curve if I could get out with or speak to somebody who's good at this. But your videos are the next best thing. Too bad my small homely doesn't have much structure and Contour to it. But they have to go somewhere and I will keep trying to find them
Best on utube for how to use SI to find fish
My go to trailer on a chatterbait is the Zako. They look just like a gizzard shad on the retrieve!
Love a Zako in any color tbh great trailer
Casting angle is a great tip.. thanks Johnny
Great tip on the 2D versus downscan for identifying bass. My primary view is map and downscan with sidescan on bottom. Will definitely make sure I toggle to downscan periodically.
Good stuff. I fish this lake often. I caught some in that area last time I was out there on an old monster. I love seeing my home lakes featured on such in-depth videos.
Similar thing is happening on my local lake my last two trips out. There are two areas Ive been rotating through, between 5-15 FOW, one has a bunch of rock piles, and the other has some old pipes underwater along with some rocks and man made structure. Usually, I just head straight for the structure, but have been noticing that there are schools hanging just nearby, up a bit shallower. Caught four pounders on three straight casts at one point, and this is in 80 degree water with heavy boat traffic.
Dude! That’s crazy cool. And one of your best videos ever.
Glad you liked it!
Love these videos!!
Great video as always! I still think you’re the best !
Great video. You have been killing it lately with the videos.
Thanks! Glad you like them!
Love this channel
Hey Jonny, Do you tournament fish? I'd like hear about it.
👍👍👍👍👍
Good video again , you’ve put out a bad video , it’s great to have a channel to watch this , that being said that zako trailer is great I use also on chatter an at nighttime fishing since it’s very hot inside it on my spinnerbsits , this also works well offshore on a small ball head for little finesse fishing
Would love to see a video from the ozark pool on the river and how you break it down
Headed there in July. Waiting for the current to die down a little bit to get the fish set up on sand bar drops
@@FishtheMoment looking forward to it went Sunday
And it was tough
You should be able to map that lake with Garmin Quickdraw and that would give you 1' contours. Unless the lake is that shallow and its all pretty much one depth but looks like there are contours. Another good video...
I did that with my old humminbird unit on this lake and it worked great. I just haven't had time to do it with the new Garmin.
@@FishtheMoment I guess what i should have said, when you are side scanning and graphing just hit record on quickdraw and you at least wil fill out the contours of the areas that your graphing, quick and easy imho and then you can see the contours next time. :)
@@tombishop470can you quickdraw and side image at same time?
I am taking the small lake in Arkansas idea for naming lakes 🤣
Lol works like a charm!
If I can name this lake with one try. Will you shout out my Channel? 😂
Haha I'm pretty sure its called "Small Lake in Arkansas" lol
