Boar bristle brushes are also good for the hair. I use one in the morning to get lint or other stuff out of my hair, plus it distributes the oil already there to the rest of the hair. My cat likes to sleep around my head so yeah have to get it out somehow 😅 Also I protect my hair by braid or braids, mainly in a bun or wrapped around the head and covered with a scarf. I have seen results. It does help. My hair is below my tailbone. If anyone has questions about hair let me know! 😊❤
As a black girl who has almost butt length hair, I agree with your points besides the dry shampoo. Simplicity from wash routine to products to braids is best for health and length 🍃.
This is the one and ONLY hair video anyone needs!!!! I have thick knee length hair and I do everything in this video except the dry shampoo. I wear a lot of top knots too so the hair is resting directly on top of my head rather than pulling down on it. So Pay attention kids, 99% of the hair care/hair growth tricks videos you see out there are complete garbage! This is the way! The TRUE way to grow super long healthy hair. Don’t listen to those girls with shoulder length or waist length hair if you are going for longer! Listen to those who have the length you desire.
I love watching holistic habits! Her hair is fantastic and she doesn't use crazy products. I learned about apple cider vinegar rinses and oiling because of her.
Butt length hair with knee length goal here too! Honestly the hardest part of this video is brushing it less often. The tangles for one, but I also just love the feeling of combing my hair until it's silky smooth, and it's very meditative for me. I currently comb it twice a day, but I guess I could go down to only once in the morning. I also feel like I don't have time to oil it as extensively in the morning as I do in the evening.
@@magiv4205 Totally feel that! I need to work on the less brushing as well. I also make sure to at least try to remember at night to apply oil. I do sometimes during the day/in the morning but depends the style. Your comment actually brought me back here, like a little reminder so thank you for that!!
I only use a good shampoo and conditioner...that's it. Besides using olive oil on my ends, my hair is down to my tailbone. I don't use heat, nor hair dryer, no dry shampoo ( that will clog your follicles) and I brush it every night with a wooden brush, them I put in braids. My hair is 2 c wavy, also I use hair sticks sometimes, no elastics. Olive oil has done wonders.
Try using leave in conditioner after towel drying on mids and ends, hair loses moisture after it dries and use very fine oil just on ends once a day to keep them smooth and hydrated.
From what I’ve read it seems that the key to success in growing and maintaining long hair is actually the opposite of what one might think: barely do anything 😂 The less the better, quality products and no heat.
I take pumpkin seed oil supplements for bladder pain syndrome because it's good for urinary support. But this is also good for hair growth especially hair loss.
I have very dark/black, curly/afro hair and my hair is almost to my knees. I only wash my hair every 2-3 weeks when my hair is down but keep it in 2 braids, and when I have mini twist, I wash 1x a month. Leaving your hair alone is the key. And for dry ends, I suggest just water and using grease to seal the water. Grease is an amazing sealant!
I think glycerin in water or honey is better because plain water évaporation strips the lipids but humectants don't leasing ur hair moisturized longer❤❤❤(for kinky hair)
I'm trying to grow my afro. I'm starting again after I have these extentions out. Can you give me some advice please? For me and my daughter? I was just saying to my husband today that a lot of us don't know how to treat our hair. We do the best we can but we just don't know.. so can you help me a little please? Thank you xxx
@No_Frills_Carnivore sure. It starts with the inside. So making sure you get the hydration, vitamins and minerals. And for your hair, moisture, messages and just letting it be.
@@missdatoo9590 thank you. I have the nutrition down thankfully. I just didn't know what to do with my hair.. how to treat it so it will grow. I will definitely take your advice for me and my daughter. Thank you and God bless xxx
@No_Frills_Carnivore you're welcome. Have you tried mini twist? Or any low maintenance style really. My mom used to braid my sister and I's hair, and would keep them in for almost 6 months before she redid them. And the water and grease helped keep it moisturized
Awww you’re so beautiful!! I have 3c Afro texture curly hair. My hair length is at my butt at the moment . It took me 3 years starting at bra starp length to get there. My current goal is to get my hair to my knees. Next I want it to my ankles😂 we pretty much have the same hair care regimen thanks for the video ❤
I 💯 agree with everything but the brushing less, you in fact have only once a week. I use a bamboo brush on my mid thigh length hair every morning and evening. I don’t want tangles to form, I believe tangles cause damage.
Thank you so much for this video, just what I needed to watch! When I see some of these other channels where they put so many products in their hair it makes me cringe, so nice that you explained it well!😍
You have created the VERY BEST hair tutorial and I just learned so much from you, You explained everything I have been wondering about and now I so better understand what hair oils work best and how to use them. I've been overdoing it and actually causing more knots and tangles in my extremely long hair. At 72 years old, I'm proud that my hair is thick and has grown to my buttocks. I ignore all those who believe that once you reach a certain age you should cut all your hair off. That may be true if your hair is damaged, and doesn't look healthy. Sending you love and blessings. xoxo
I tried the tips from the blowout professor, and before I did, I couldn't go two days before my hair got oily, then when I tried his tips, I was able to go 3 days before washing. Now, when my day 3 hair wash comes up, i have noticed that my hair doesn't really need washed. I am definitely going to try to work up to the 2 week hair wash, may or may not work but if I can get more than 3-4 days before washing my hair, I will be very happy!!!! I have been growing my hair out for over 20 years, and because of medication and many surgeries, I have lost so much hair, even have patchy thin spots under my hair! And, it's barely to my waist! It's so depressing 😢, but I have been trying to stay positive and pray and be patient, with 2 of those being very hard to do 😂!
Not everyone can go 2 weeks without washing their hair, it depends on genetics and your environment. I have very fine curly/wavy hair and I live in a VERY hot and humid place so I can only go about 5 days without washing. It stays in the 90s-100s here and humidity is always 80%. I can't regulate my body temp so I am always sweaty. Sometimes I go a week without washing and I use a bit of cornstarch in between.
I also took tips from Blowout Professor and it was a game changer. My hair was always very hoarse and scratchy, oh go how a simple oil changed that and it doesn't tangle like crazy anymore 😀
I had beautiful long hair for many years. I did exactly what this young lady did. Personally I felt what's the point of having long hair if I'm forever tying it up and getting constant headaches from the heaviness. So I decided to shave the whole lot off and donate it to a children's cancer foundation. I've had short hair ever scince and still love it. I felt so liberated lol. I don't miss my long hair but it's still lovely to see on others ☺️🎉
Thank you so much for this video! This is absolute perfection. The hardest one for me is not using heat 🥹😂 I love curling my hair so much, but I’ve been experimenting with different heatless curling tools and I’ve found one that works for me. Other oils I have found work really well in my hair in addition to the ones you mentioned: •Sweet almond oil •Avocado oil •Rosemary essential oil (1-2 drops in a carrier oil) •Peppermint essential oil (diddo)
My grandmother's hair was dragging a foot on the ground when she married. After 15 kids it was at knee length when she died. One of the things I learned in beauty school was how to singe the hair. You need help to do it, but is very effective. Take very small amounts of hair and twist it extremely tight. Run your fingers up the twist and any split ends will pop out of the twist. Then with a lighter quickly run a flame along the shaft. It will only burn the split ends because there is no oxygen in the twist. This leaves the ends of the hair smooth and sealed. You will also find split ends less often. When twisting only twist the length you can twist very tight, ie a foot. Then work your way along the section of hair. Much more effective than your scissor method.
I just learned that when your hair is wet, especially damp, your hair is 33% weaker and more prone to braking. Also, I learned to use a 100% boar bristle brush after detangling your hair with your fingers. To distribute the oils through your hair when you brush your hair. Plastic is not good for your hair, especially if it's wavy curly hair.
@@ari-jv true, but what's best for one's hair may not be good for another's hair, so we have to do what's best for our individual needs for our hair care.
Means so much seeing you happy with such a wonderful and giant braid, reaching such an amazing hairlength milestone. Please keep your pride in your gorgeous and amazing mane, it suits you so very much, and it is so unique and special because it is so extremely well-cared. Thank you for sharing, dear Zelda, and wishing you the very best for your studies 😘❤
Hi Zelda! I watch it all ;) I need to disagree in some points: 1. Washing hair once a week - In my opinion we should wash our hair as they are dirty, we can use a gentle shampoo, or even a co-wash, and just once a week a stronger shampoo (it's working for me). 2. Hair drying is ok, if you are using temperature not higher than 60-70C, and you are making sure that no bacteria will evolwe in that wet hot conditions after washing. 3. You need to be extra carefoul with dry shampo, if overused may cousing bacteria and hair loss, after usuning it make sure you always wash it of next day the latest. 4. I think it's a good practice to cut a few cm once every year, I'm not a fan of cuting hair by one. 5. And last I think that hair should be for us, not the other way, so styling once in a while is not a crime :)
This hair video really hits all the points! no need to search for years on haircare videos, this one is truly all you need! I agree on the point about forgetting and being lazy with your hair. **A watched pot never boils my ladies**
Love your tips. I have ethnic curly wavy hair barely cut now to my lower back and I only wash and blow dry my hair once every two weeks too it is better. I also just leave it alone in braids 🤗💕
I watched all the way to the end!! Excellent video and excellent advice for all hair types! I’m African American with Type 4 Afro hair. I do have a relaxer but get no more than 3 per year and I’m now trying for just twice per year! This advice is great for all hair types and textures and whether chemically treated or now! Mine is between my bra strap and waist! I only use heat when I do a relaxer…thus, 3 times per year!! I find that when I wear wigs my hair grows very fast!! I think because it’s protected and not touched or messed with! There’s a lot of us long hair girls wearing wigs out here for this reason! Gives hair a break and grows super fast!! Thank you for this awesome video!!
@@GadielVaStar I first went natural back in ‘98 and folks thought I had lost my mind! I chopped my hair down to a TWA. Since that time…..wow, 26 years ago, I’ve grown it out long and natural, chopped, relaxed, texlaxed, etc. I’ve done it all and my hair has been healthy and long both ways. I know everyone is getting relaxers now but I’ve never been one to follow the crowd. I’ve been on TH-cam loving the natural hair videos and reminiscing for my natural hair! I’m now 23 weeks post relaxer and going to keep on going and transition! I’ll be trimming about a half inch per month for a long time! I’ve never had the patience for this do this will be fomenting new and fun!!🤩 The key is even with a relaxer, never forcing our hair on a regular or even semi regular basis to do something it’s not meant to do! All that heat styling and tight super long braids just messes people’s hair and/or scalps up!! Just love it and lovingly care for it gently and it will grow in any state!! Hope this is helpful!
If you don't want to use dry shampoo then get a boar bristles brush instead and clean the bristles with white vinegar extra striegth after each time you use it.
I follow pretty much all steps you mentioned I have super long hair my whole life and this is the best hair care advice Ive heard . I turned this in for my daughters to hear how to take care of their hair since they don’t listen to me😂
The “Lazy way” makes it seem so doable lol. I love this! I’ve been “mostly” healthy with my hair but I do a heatless straightening routine because I find my curly hair very hard to manage and I lose a lot when detangling. I wear it mostly down. I think I’ll try braiding more instead. Thanks for the tips! Nice to hear tips that don’t involve a bunch of sponsored chemicals 😂❤
Thank you for sharing. ✨I have fine Afro cottony hair and I watched it all the way through. It has been a relief to be able to just forget about my hair. It delicate and doesn’t like to handled a lot. I stopped combing it years ago, so it is loc’d. This has been a relief of so much stress from trying to make my hair texture behave differently than its characteristics. 🌻✨
Lots of great advice! I'd add: wide headbands and bun forks can be jazzed up with flowers, lace etc to channel that excitement and interest in your hair, and make styles look special.
I lost a lot of hair because of stress due to the education system, I was so stressed before going to school that my hair was falling by handfuls. A lot of neurodivergent people have to deal with a lot of stress due to being unable to conform, my hair was always a way of measuring my mental health… this helps a lot especially the advice about just leaving it alone
I tried training my hair for months to not wash it, and no matter what I did I was super greasy by day 3. And I even double shampooed. I think you should wash as often as you need when it starts feeling dirty
I watched this video all the way to the end because the content is excellent and addresses almost everything that is needed to grow and maintain healthy hair. Thank you
Oh I love these tips, especially the one on how to detangle knots. I always have lots of knots, I get so impatient trying to pull the hair out of them.
On another hair blog I learned the following: finger detangle first, broad toothed comb second then finer toothed comb last. Done twice daily and using protective hairstyles, such as braids and buns. No heat. Protect hair at night will cause less tangles. Scalp massage with argan or jojoba oil with essential oils the night before. I use baking soda water to shampoo when I finally clean my hair/scalp with ACV to rinse and close cuticles and air dry. No heat.
I wish I knew about these sooner. I have a lot of fine, straight heir and when I was a teen, I managed to get my hair to grow past my butt because I “didn’t do anything” to it but at the same time I didn’t take care of it either. I didnt dye it, always in protective hairstyles and washed it around once a week. But I also used really hot water to wash it, brushing it when it was wet, blow drying on hot because the “hot air would evaporate the water faster”. I loved it but it was pretty damaged, constantly in knots and when it started getting stuck on doorknobs, I cut it all off and I REGRET IT SO MUCH 😢😢😢 now that I got my dying adventures out of me, I’m trying to get it back but care for it properly this time. Thank you for the video, it motivates me to stay patient and not to spend any unnecessary money 💖💖💖
The idea to cut only the damaged hairs is really good - it's the first time I've ever heard about it even though it makes totally sense! As dry shampoo it is way better to go for corn starch, flour, clay powder and things alike than to use those chemical products.
Okay so… I’m Brazilian and I go to a church where women don't cut their hair, and we have a beautiful very very very long hair. So, im a person who have long hair and lives with other long hair girls. Please don’t do it! Even girls who have their hairs dragging the floor don’t wash their hair every 2 weeks. It smells so bad and your hairs never beautiful because it’s always greasy. Don’t do it, it won’t grow your hair or make it beautiful/thick. wash your hair very little, as it causes many hair problems. Listen to me, I used to do this and wash my hair once a week for a long time. It never worked and my hair was always greasy, oily and ugly, even though it was naturally dry (it was never naturally oily. In my church the girls have beautiful thick hair and they wash their hair 1-3 times a week, never less or more. Dry shampoo clogs hair follicles and causes long-term hair loss, don’t use it so much. Of course Brazil is a hot and a tropical country, so we wash our hair more, but every 2 weeks it’s a bad frequency…
I will agree with you here, I did the "only wash once or twice a week" and I ended up with an itchy scalp and now I'm using prescription shampoo, I also got a sturn telling off by a dermatologist. While some people may benefit from infrequent hair washing most it won't do a lot of good. Zelda did state at the start of the video that not all her tips will be suitable for everyone but most ill agree with, for example having a balanced diet, not buying into fad social media "quick fixes" Best advice I would advise anyone struggling to grow their hair is getting your blood work done and have a full M.O.T. Check your thyroid, your hormone levels. I did and found I was deficient in vitamin D and my thyroid needed medication
This is an amazing video Zelda! You just taught me more than all the hair videos combined that I have watched... I love your casual + straight forwardness in this!
So happy to hear you talk about cutting individual broken ends... I've always done this, same methods! I thought I was the only one😅 I use a brush without the little balls at the end of the bristles, as those can catch and cause more breakage. Love the video!
For those that need dry shampoo but don’t want the chemicals of mainstream dry shampoo, you can make your own from either arrowroot powder or cornstarch mixed with cocoa powder, cinnamon, or nutmeg, or a mixture of the three to match your hair color so that it doesn’t look white on your hair if your hair is dark
Thank you!!! FINALLY somebody else who only washes their hair every two weeks. I have thick, coarse, curly hair and it’s very different from yours but I also wash my hair once every two weeks.
thank you so much!! i watched so many videos about hair growth and they all told me to buy expensive hair products and I'm so broke!! so you really helped me!!
I DID watch it all the way through to the end! I’m always on the lookout for long hair growth tips! I had gastric bypass surgery and lost at least 1/2 my hair which was very difficult because it’s always been very baby fine so it has never looked like I had much hair any way. But in 2017, my hair got down to my waist because I wanted to go as Lara Croft for a work skit we were doing and I just let it grow. You’re right! If you just “set it and forget it” it will get there. And it was faster than I thought it would be. But now my hair is falling out again after another (different) surgery and I’m beginning to panic again! 😢 But I’m starting to use rosemary and mint oils and water, and it’s helping. I’ve started making my own hair oil and I usually wash only once a week with an intense scalp oil for about 4 hrs before my shampoo with the rosemary water in between washes. It’s getting less and less oily over time! Thank you for your video! It was very comprehensive and enjoyable!
Seeing you have similar thickness of hair as I have gives me a bit of hope yet. The last 10 years I think I have tried every method under the sun and nothing has ever worked. The last thing I did was using expensive shampoo bars and conditioner bars, and a year into using those I was losing crazy amounts of hair every time I washed it. It was actually scary. I had started to think that my hair is too thin to ever possibly make it to get longer before it all breaks off. The last six months or so is the first time in a long time that I have started getting a little bit of length again finally, and now I am using regular shampoo and conditioner again. I also stopped losing my hair in big chunks right away as a changed back to that. I started with bond repair shampoo after the bars, and now a have a regular one. What I have found works for me is using hair masks at least once a week, never skip out on leave in conditioner and sleeping in a braid. And sleeping on a silk pillow or in a silk bonnet. I use oil or some other leave in product on my ends every night. My hair seems to get better by washing more often as well. My ends are a mess after just a couple days after washing. Especially before I started using oil or other products on my ends daily. I also get dandruff if I don’t wash often enough and I lose more hair. I should probably keep my hair in a braid during the days as well, the problem is I really like long braids and mine is just not long enough for me to like it aesthetically 😅 Plus I need to keep my hair up at work 🤔
Love your hair content about hair care. You’re absolutely right about that, stop touching your hair so often and that you don’t have to buy all these expensive hair products for your hair to see . Simplicity is the best, then you’ll 💁♀️ like hair
I agree with all techniques I will also add stop using conditioners with silicones and replace shampoo with something more natural like apple cider vinegar or ghassoul clay. Dry shampoo store bought isn't great other as it contains silicone get corn starch or ground fenugreek or amla powder, or if you dark mix half and half corn starch with Coco powder put it in icing sugar shaker and vuala you have abandoned of dry shampoo at your finger tips. From kitchen ingredients please avoid using baking soda too often it's drying too much.
I already said in the intro but again: Sorry this isn't hair ASMR like the rest of my channel, but because I'm currently studying abroad in Japan, I don't have my fancy recording to make a nice quality ASMR video. Most my life I had thick shoulder length hair that beauticians claimed simply would never grow beyond that point it was genetically programmed. In 2014 my hair found itself suddenly and unexpectedly at my elbows. During this time circumstances beyond my control kept me from washing my hair daily. I was lucky if I got the opportunity to wash it twice a month. I started to realize most of what we've been taught about those who lived a few hundred years ago was crap info. It is quite possible to stay clean and have healthy hair with a lot less washing. I use all natural oils on my skin and hair now and have stuck to 2-4 washes of hair in a month. Avocado oil is my go to for skin and hair it is antibacterial antimicrobial and antifungal one can use as a leave in conditioner, antibacterial soap, baby oil/lotion, foot rub and more. I use a tad bit rosemary oil at night and some clove bud oil mostly for scent it also helps keep away lice and other bugs so I've read they used to use it for back in the day. I also use a Boar bristle brush to help smooth hair and bring scalp oils down to the ends. It's a very relaxing part of my self care routine. I often spritz my face and hair with rosewater it too is antibacterial antimicrobial antifungal cleanses & refreshes great stuff. Rose tea is also great for health and tasty. Occasionally I'll use Rose gold dry shampoo if I absolutely need a refresher. In my experience natural products straight from Mother Nature is best. I even made a homemade deodorant from avocado oil and a few essential oils I like works better than anything I've bought in stores. Now I often read up on how things were done in the past times and take some of their wisdom to heart. Back then it wasn't uncommon for women to have hip length or longer hair obviously they were doing something right and they didn't have the luxury of indoor plumbing. Right now my hair is middle of back because I stupidly did an emotional cutting a few years back that I instantly regretted my hair was nearly at my hips at that point. Feel like I'm starting over at least I'm over halfwAy there now. Maybe one day I'll have as long as yours...if I can keep from cutting it. Enjoyed your video. Thank you for sharing with other young woman proper hair care without the gimmicks. Big point I agree on is vitamins and minerals preferably from eating real nutritious foods especially nuts every other day pistachios are a great multivitamin when used in moderation. It's another reason I use avocado oil it's packed with nutrients some of which can actually penetrate the skin and be used to nourish skin/hair (like zinc and vitamin E) do a nightly foot rub and it will help keep feet healthy and toenails healthy as well.
If you need to touch your hair it’s best to be in a good mood or a good frame of mind. Basically what you said with putting your hair aside for another time if you’re in a rush also if you’re in a terrible mood.
It's true! My former Nurse Hairdresser said the same and I wash my hair maybe twice a week (it gets really oily by 3 days.). She said I've got the healthiest hair she's ever seen. She said products are B.S., the only "product" you need, is built in already!
I watched until the end and loved it! Thanks for reminding me of the process of checking through the entire head of hair and snipping off any damaged ends- I used to do that all the time, and need to get back into that! I've been doing micro trims at the end of two braids lately. I'm going to try more low hairstyles instead of piling hair at the top of my head! After watching, I just put my hair in a low ponytail with a soft scrunchie, added a few drops of oil to my hands, ran that through the lengths, then braided it and tied it off with a smaller soft hair tie that matches my hair color 😊 I'm currently using a natural oil that's a mix of safflower oil, rosemary oil, and peppermint oil, and I really like it a lot! If you only use a few drops at a time, it's not greasy at all, absorbs entirely into the hair, and smells clean and fresh! The brand is "Olivia Care" and I picked it up at Winner's (I'm in Canada), the American equivalent to Winner's would be TJ Maxx I believe. Thanks again! Fawn 😊
Air drying hair is unrealistic in the winter. It's currently winter here in Australia and my hair takes at least half a day to dry without a hairdryer. And when you have to leave the house in the morning that's a no go. 🤔 I only air dry in warm weather. Currently it's 3C here. 🥶
Thank you so much for explaining properly washing your hair and how often you should be washing it. Also explaining the natural oil of hair, how it works and why its beneficial!
I soooooo agree with you that “your scalp will produce the best oil for your hair”! I call sebum “Mother Nature’s hair oil”, so I do sebum distribution da with a Mason Pierson day 3 to wash day, which is every 7-10 days. It helps clean the scalp and brings the sebum down to the mids-ends, and stimulates the scalp. 😊
As far as washing my hair goes, I'm trying to go the other way. I washed my hair in March and before that I hadn't washed my hair for 3 or 4 years. After I washed my hair in March, I haven't washed it since. I've been trying to get on a 2-week wash schedule. I have below the ear 4C hair type.
I wish I could only wash my hair once every 1-2 weeks but I don't think everyone can, I have Seborrheic dermatitis and I feel like it would go crazy. My hair has always grown really fast and long and thick. I've been thinking about growing it as long as I can but I've heard it can cause hair loss on your hairline over time from the weight of it. Have you experienced that
using wooden combs and boar bristle brushes will help distribute oil and clean the hair better than using a dry shampoo. I would use dry shampoo in a pinch (you can make your own with cornstarch) but if you know how to comb your hair properly you can get rid of the oil without washing or using any product to soak it up. Also, just wanted to say that knowing your porosity is important to know what kind of oils you should be using. I have low porosity hair and coconut oil destroys it. It's wayyyyy better for me to use thinner oils that can actually penetrate the hair shaft.
Yes on the hair washing!!! I have short hair, like razor short and basically never need to wash it. Only time it needs it is when I’ve gone for a run or otherwise exercised. And when it’s longer I wash as needed, if it’s not been greasy for at least 2 days it doesn’t need washing.
Thank you Zelda for your very informative content. Very helpful ❤️ I watched to the end. BTW I snip my damaged ends but I heat my scissors in a candle flame until they are very hot before I snip. It is very therapeutic. I do this bc the time I had the longest hair I was going to a salon that had heated scissors, before that it would just break or turn to dust so the growth at the scalp didn’t translate to growth of the lengths. When the salon closed I thought I would try to recreate the heated scissors at home and I am seeing the length increase.
Everything she says in this video is what I learned through RESEARCH!!! I consume protein as well as do protein treatments because your body needs supplements to produce length and quality hair.
Great advice here. On point about the oils. Eat good amounts of protein too. My DH learned how to braid my hair.❤ Classic length at the moment. Long hair life is very enjoyable.😊 I use Vitamin E the day before washday. Stay away from salons if possible...... cutting is their bread and butter. If you don't have split ends.....leave it alone.....(if you want more length).
last year I got my hair trimmed into a butterfly haistyle, and I was happy. But after some time I noticed I wanted long hair back. So what I did was, that i stoped carring about my hair, constantly checking it out if it even grew. I'M NOT SAYING I STOPED CARING ABOUT MY HAIR, LIKE NOT WASHING AND ECT! But I actlually just let it grow XD. Then after some months I noticed pretty big diffrence! But since we know the butterfly haircut is a layred haircut it actually quite bothered me that one part of my hair only grew past my chin to my colarbone and then the bottom part of my hair finally reached my shoulderbladeds, but I say to myself. It's just a part of a process. I even tried to wash my hair once two weeks, since my hair only needed washing once a week pretty all my entire life. I even tried to use oils. Now my favorite oil is waulnut oil, because my hair tends to fade out into a lighter colour on the sun. And since the waulnut is ritch with fats that are good for the hair, it also keeps my colour of the hair in check, because waulnit darkens hair, and this is actully what our ancestors used instead of some toxic haircolours that we have today. And right now, I consider trying to use herbal decoctions, such as birch decoction and nettle decoction. And yea.... This is all I do with my hair pretty much. just being lazy with it you said. XD
My hair started getting really long when I was pregnant with baby number 4 and simply did not have the energy/mental capacity to style or wash it often (once every week or so then put in a bun once fully dry)
Boar bristle brushes are also good for the hair. I use one in the morning to get lint or other stuff out of my hair, plus it distributes the oil already there to the rest of the hair. My cat likes to sleep around my head so yeah have to get it out somehow 😅
Also I protect my hair by braid or braids, mainly in a bun or wrapped around the head and covered with a scarf. I have seen results. It does help. My hair is below my tailbone. If anyone has questions about hair let me know! 😊❤
Bamboo combs also helps
I use wood comb for long time and boar bristles brush
I have curly hair so I can only use it when brush styling and on wet hair 😔
As a black girl who has almost butt length hair, I agree with your points besides the dry shampoo. Simplicity from wash routine to products to braids is best for health and length 🍃.

What's your hair care regimen
I have knee length hair too and I EXTREMELY AGREE with the first one!! NOT WASHING TOO FREQUENTLY is the most important thing.....
Thank you for keeping it real! My hair is just above my butt but my goal is knee length. Definitely will save this for reminders ♥️
How long is it now your hair?
Your comment actually brought me back here, like a little reminder so thank you for that!!
the fact that it's not just long, but it looks healthy, strong and shiny too
Thank you so much(:

I can’t believe it’s down to your knees now. That’s amazing. Glad to hear your voice too 😊

The fact that your name is Zelda with this princess hair is amazing lol
She’s the twilight princess
How's it going with your hair? Is it past your waist yet?
I also took tips from Blowout Professor and it was a game changer. My hair was always very hoarse and scratchy, oh go how a simple oil changed that and it doesn't tangle like crazy anymore 😀
Your braid looks so shiny in this video. It looks amazing
Thank you very much!!😁😁🥰❤️
I had beautiful long hair for many years.
Other oils I have found work really well in my hair in addition to the ones you mentioned:
•Sweet almond oil
•Avocado oil
•Rosemary essential oil (1-2 drops in a carrier oil)
•Peppermint essential oil (diddo)
This is something interesting but is it safe?
Yes. I have done this for many lovely ladies (and a few gents) over the last 45 years.
aw hell naw
Number 5 was actually a slap that I needed for me. I need to stop being so anxious and obsessed about my hair growth 😭😭😭
Congrats on your hair growth. It is so beautiful!
Girl!!! This is one of the most authentic, direct, honest, cutest, smartest, straight-forward speech! Thank you darling. You hair is beautiful!
Except curly hair is more easily brushed when it’s wet
@@ari-jv true, but what's best for one's hair may not be good for another's hair, so we have to do what's best for our individual needs for our hair care.

Hi Zelda! I watch it all ;)
I need to disagree in some points:
I also just leave it alone in braids 🤗💕
the shine in your hair is crazy beautiful

This is THE most realistic, to the point video I've seen in a while 🎉 thank you
I watched all the way to the end!!
Well if you wear a lot of wigs then have you thought about being natural?
I’m happy to see you back!
Off topic: but your voice is so relaxing. I can hear you all day
I love everything about her attitude, message and delivery ❤
Finally a video and a super interesting one😍🤩💁♀️

If you don't want to use dry shampoo then get a boar bristles brush instead and clean the bristles with white vinegar extra striegth after each time you use it.
U can feel the passion, and understand the message. Thumbs up.
Thank you so much I really appreciate that!!🥰❤️
I follow pretty much all steps you mentioned I have super long hair my whole life and this is the best hair care advice Ive heard .
this is the cuties and most productived advise i ever heard
Lots of great advice! I'd add: wide headbands and bun forks can be jazzed up with flowers, lace etc to channel that excitement and interest in your hair, and make styles look special.
I watched to the end 😊 I really found your advice very helpful. Thanks
Total hair success! Thank you for educating and inspiring long hair. Good luck with your studies too. 💖💖
Thank you very much I really appreciate your kind words!🥰❤️
I lost a lot of hair because of stress due to the education system, I was so stressed before going to school that my hair was falling by handfuls. A lot of neurodivergent people have to deal with a lot of stress due to being unable to conform, my hair was always a way of measuring my mental health… this helps a lot especially the advice about just leaving it alone
I tried training my hair for months to not wash it, and no matter what I did I was super greasy by day 3. And I even double shampooed. I think you should wash as often as you need when it starts feeling dirty
That happened because you don't oil your hair, do you
I watched this video all the way to the end because the content is excellent and addresses almost everything that is needed to grow and maintain healthy hair. Thank you
Oh I love these tips, especially the one on how to detangle knots.
Bravo beatiful Zelda!❤️
The braid is so shiny!
Zelda did state at the start of the video that not all her tips will be suitable for everyone but most ill agree with, for example having a balanced diet, not buying into fad social media "quick fixes"
Best advice I would advise anyone struggling to grow their hair is getting your blood work done and have a full M.O.T. Check your thyroid, your hormone levels. I did and found I was deficient in vitamin D and my thyroid needed medication
If you don't wash your hair that often it will show on your face your face will be oily&some will have breakouts, pimples.
Love how honest you are, indeed we r crazy n inpatient when it comes to grow our hair
Great advice, plain and simply ❤...of course I watched 'til the end...

Thank you!!

Thank you for your advice
Thank you so much Zelda! I watched the whole video and I loved it...Thank you so much😍
I agree with all techniques I will also add stop using conditioners with silicones and replace shampoo with something more natural like apple cider vinegar or ghassoul clay.

“Be lazy” yes!!! 😂 I’m glad long hair brings you joy as it does for me
You did a great job! Thanks for the video ❤
After watching, I just put my hair in a low ponytail with a soft scrunchie, added a few drops of oil to my hands, ran that through the lengths, then braided it and tied it off with a smaller soft hair tie that matches my hair color 😊
I'm currently using a natural oil that's a mix of safflower oil, rosemary oil, and peppermint oil, and I really like it a lot!
I haven’t found a lot of videos for fine hair like mine. Good tips!
Have you experienced that
Yes my mom has experienced that before. Once we cut dairy from her diet, it went away.
using wooden combs and boar bristle brushes will help distribute oil and clean the hair better than using a dry shampoo.
I also never put heat on my hair. And keep my hair in a protective style.
Here because the hair salon lady cut my hair really bad and I would never let anyone touch it again
Yes on the hair washing!!! I have short hair, like razor short and basically never need to wash it. Only time it needs it is when I’ve gone for a run or otherwise exercised. And when it’s longer I wash as needed, if it’s not been greasy for at least 2 days it doesn’t need washing.
28 min of straight facts. Good video
Your hair is SOOO gorgeous
I watched it through ❤❤❤
Thank you Zelda for your very informative content.
You’re a good speaker. Enjoyed your video and your hair is beautiful ❤
Your voice is quite soothing.
XD
yaaaaaaay congratulations!
Love your personality!
It's called honest review ❤
Sounds great!💚
My hair started getting really long when I was pregnant with baby number 4 and simply did not have the energy/mental capacity to style or wash it often (once every week or so then put in a bun once fully dry)
