Review Bangkok Airways - Airbus A319 Economy Class Flight from Koh Samui to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi

- What is a Boutique Airline? In this Trip Report we take you on a Short-haul Economy Class flight with Bangkok Airways from Koh Samui Airport to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport in Thailand. We begin at Samui Airport where we first Check-in and Drop off our luggage. After we have Checked-in we take you on a short tour of Koh Samui Airport to show you what this unique airport is like. We then pass Airport Security and Immigration also called Passport Control. After we have passed through Immigration and Airport Security we make our way to our Gate from where our Bangkok Airways flight to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi will depart from.
While waiting at our Departure Gate we show you the Courtesy Corner, which is a little complimentary food and drinks desk provided by Bangkok Airways for all its Economy Class passengers. Business Class passengers have there own separate Airport Lounge where they have access to snacks and drinks. This Courtesy Corner provided by Bangkok Airways is one of the factors which make this airline stand out as a Boutique Airline. After sitting in the Lounge area for awhile Boarding for our Bangkok Flight begins. All Aircraft Boarding's at Samui Airport are Apron Boarding's which means we are Driven out to our aircraft, an Airbus A319, in little carriages. We then board the aircraft and find our seats onboard. The Takeoff and Landing from this flight is not included as we were not allowed to film during takeoff and landing. Despite that we still show you the Economy Class Seats, the Inflight Meal (a hot meal), give you a Lavatory Tour, show you Inflight Magazines, Onboard Safety Cards, the Air Sickness Bag, Duty Free Shopping Bag and the Trust Pulsar even makes a cameo or two. This Flight Review Ends with us disembarking our Bangkok Airways Aircraft and walking into the Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport Terminal ready to Transfer for our next flight a Lufthansa flight from Bangkok to Frankfurt.

Great weekend treat.Koh Samui airport is the best one for me to which i've been to even out of visiting Changi and DXB. I have binge watched the Koh Samui related videos in the past from 2015 and it was quite helpful for me before my trip to Koh Samui. Experiencing this airport in person is just great. Thanks for sharing! Bangkok Airways was my favorite airline in Asia until November 2012 when they screwed up my transit at Suvarnabhumi on a flight from Phnom Penh to Chiang mai. We where sitting at the gate at Suvarnabhumi for about 6 hours without food or drinks due to delay on the airplane from Chiang Mai. They never answered on our calls or contact to crew or complaints on email later. Needless to say I do not fly with them if I don't have to.

Good review Maro and Maxi . Maxi always very detail and cover the airport tours , like washroom , restaurant and smoking room , not many people show the smoking room for those who smoke . I am sure the smokers appreciate your care . Maxi thumbs up and be safe.

Would love to go to koh Samui one day if only for the airport. It looks so lovely. What’s the reasoning behind the ban on filming take off and landing?. It’s one of the best bits 😕. Maxi, in light of the current situation I have to say it freaks me out that you touch everything in the toilet 🙈😂. Another informative and enjoyable video 👍❤️🇬🇧
Koh Samui is fantastic and that airport is something very unique, a pleasure to experience! We are not sure why filming is not allowed, these are just the rules and we respect and follow those. HeHe, I also noticed that I (Maxi) touch everything - I think that we all do that but since the Corona situation began we have just begun to notice it more. What really can freak one out is when we begin noticing how much we touch our faces when we have been touching all kinds of services out in public ;-) As you can see from the video even before Corona, Maro and I were good at putting disinfectant on our fingers. Bangkok Airways is too expensive. unfortunately they have the monopoly there. I like to be on the go and I take usually the train and the ferry.
We have to agree with Benzman500sl here ;-) We never see the price of this flight as it is always part of the package flight we buy with the airline we fly from, from Europe. That said, we are always happy to fly with Bangkok Airways, they are really good. In our opinion flying to and from lovely Koh Samui Airport and flying with Bangkok Airways is a huge part of the island experience. Samui Airport is certainly unique, next on our list when we travel to Thailand again. Have seen your airport tour video as well, it is a fascinating place.
I guess they don't won't you filming during takeoff and landing, so that there aren't small objects flying around the cabin in case of an emergency?
Samui is the airport we most look forward to flying in and out of because of it´s Small tropical Island Uniqueness, it is an attraction in itself! Be sure to also fly with Bangkok Airways, they are a fantastic airline! We are not sure why filming is not allowed during takeoff and landing, it used to be! (there was nothing written on the Safety Onboard Card before). The reason you mention could be, but why they are one of the few airlines who have this rule is an interesting question. Great airport I was there in March of this year one of the last flights out before lockdown. Mark Wiens would have been proud of the one biter 😂 Bangkok Airways not the cheapest but they do provide free food and drinks at the departure lounge and an inflight meal for an hours flight. Shit on the windows ! Maro quite right tell it how it is 👍 was that another one biter on the plane or as Maxi points dry as **** 🤣🤣. Great video very entertaining 👍👍👍👍

when was this . and why can you not film the departure
This was last year July 2019. These are the rules for this airline and they are printed on the Onboard Safety Card. Filming used to be allowed on Takeoff and Landing. Thanks for watching 😁

Great Video! Just a quick tip for next time, when Maro was looking through the magazine at the Jewel in Singapore, you have to actually enter Singapore to visit the Jewel (it’s Land-Side of Singapore and not Air-Side, however, there is a train that runs through for it you’re staying Air-Side, just a tip for the planning of your next trip when all of this is over :)

Thank you for making this video, very helpful! A quick question would like to check with you if you still remember, are they super strict about the size and weight of a carry-on case like some European Budget airlines do, or they don't really measure it like the majority of airline companies

We no longer use the PayPal account and therefore the donation was returned by us (we wrote a message to you together with the return within PayPal).
