Oh that BP part was so nasty 😭😭 and till this day those girlies don’t write their own stuff. I’m glad I stan a group that actually enjoys music and are passionate about it. 😌💜

They do have song credits - at least some of them - now.
Now they do have more control over their career so I guess they can identify with it more.
Which does not mean they are my music. They are not.
But more power to them for having that control after negotiations with the contract renewal.
      ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Like she said, some Kpop concept are really cool to watch, once. I even may dance on it. But that's it. Very few songs have a replay value for me.
So BTS only. I always expect the unexpected with them.
Just for fun, a concept that I would enjoy: A workplace concept by Yoongi. "Useless meeting", "A boss spelled Dick", "Coffee machine", "Fucking printer"...

What you have to realize is that I believe the first kpop group Zach Sang had interviewed was BTS. So asking them those questions wouldn't have been a hardship for them to answer. Even with the three rappers being the majority writers for the songs, the others also knew what the ideas were behind the work because they were part of the decisions and conversations. So I don't think he had any idea that those ladies write almost nothing, for the group or themselves. 20:50 No, he won't lose many kpop groups. Many don't want to talk about writing and production. I can think of a few groups who wouldn't have an issue with him asking those questions but there are many more who would. So him not asking those type of questions anymore will make him a bigger target for kpop to want him to interview them. ARMY hates vapid questions that BTS gets but some other groups don't mind.

I saw video called most popular kpop concepts and there was "hip-hop" and "rock" as a concept examples. I mean whole fucking music genres are just a concept for them cause they use electro guitar in music video as a decoration. They consider wearing some baggy clothes is hiphop. Idk. I love listening music. And ı grew up with meaningful, well written and produced songs. I mean at the and of the day ım listenin music with my ear. Their visuals are not important for me.

Well we knew that when the girl group from that Zach Sang interview talked about hiphop was "swag". The whole f*cking genre of hiphop to them was ONLY swag. When you don't know anything about actual music, you watch videos and see a trend that people from that genre do and think "yep, that's all that is about." Like punk isn't just spiky hair or safety pins, there are signatures in the music timing and instrumentation that label it punk. But in kpop for punk they would just use the "aesthetic" and say look at our concept.

Yes the official ON MV reflects the study of Carl Jung's psychology, there is something called "Jungian Archetypes" it's on wikipedia. Carl believed there were universal themes & ideas throughout time, archetypes are thought to be the basis of many of the common themes and symbols that appear in stories, myths, and dreams across different cultures and societies. There are themes in the bible that can be universal to many different cultures and even show up in different religions or myths. There are several, like the "flood myth" (it's also listed on wikipedia) like the biblical flood that destroyed civilization is also in other religions or stories like in Greek Mythology & Mesopotamian stories.

Jurnalist, because we have been following kpopl for years with this girl crush concept, I can tell you, we are soooooooooo tired of it, or at least the way certain groups carry it like dead ass lazy Paris Hilton personas. This is why New Jeans was a hit when they came out. This is why many other girl groups were rising that were doing different concepts than the girl crush concept.

KPop in general is so superficial. It's turn-your-brain-off music. Pure fluff. (And BTS is obviously not that.) It has it's place, of course. Sometimes you do need a break from seriousness and weight and need to just turn your brain off for a bit. But that's not something any intelligent person can have all the time and not get bored. And it's not anything people are going to take seriously. There has been a stigma associated with being an idol in South Korea since idols first became a thing. They're not considered artists. Mostly, they weren't even seriously considered as talented until relatively recently because a few brave and outstanding idols branched out and proved themselves in other areas of entertainment. That stigma very much has to do with the superficiality that so dominates the industry with sadly too few exceptions.
